If it's possible to transfer all the GT PSP and Prologue cars on day one, then damn, you'll have probably over 75% of the rides.
GT PSP car count= ~800
GT5: Prologue car count=~75
800
+75
875
GT5 expected car count= ~950
That, to me, seems crazy. (I know I'm assuming that all GT PSP cars are in GT5 which might skew this..but anyways). PD is smart, though. I'd like to think they'd put some emphasis on challenging gamers by putting a point limit on the cars upon transferring (say 1,000 PP). I understand some people don't have all the time in the world to play GT, but I don't think they'd dumb the game down so far as to give you the chance to transfer over a ridiculously high number of cars to GT Mode.
This worries me greatly. I really hope that there are not only like 75 new cars in GT5. That would be abominable. I really don't think that is the case though. I don't think that every car is GT PSP will be in GT5. It would be like GT4 1/2 if that's the case. Fingers crossed for something lost in translation.
Why do so many assume if you transfer over cars/credits, you'll take a supercar to a Sunday Cup race (if possible).
I'll play GT5 just as I played previous GT games, only this time there will be no money worries, and I can partake in all events from the begining.
Why buy the game if you are not going to play it properly?
They can allow you to transfer all you like - I won't be bothering. Why buy the game if you are not going to play it properly?
Don't worry about that. GT PSP just needed cars to fill out its roster, and I'm sure many GT4 cars found in GT PSP will be cut from GT5's roster. I think the consensus here is that we'll see about 150-200 new cars never seen in a GT title. That's much more reasonable.
Why would they cut GT PSP cars from the GT5 roster? Because they're old? I'm 100% sure every car from GT PSP will make it to GT5. These cars plus those from GT5P still leave plenty of new cars to come in the "over 1000" which could easily end up being almost 1100.
For example, look at GT4 promotional literature - they said "over 700" everywhere and there were like 760 or 780 cars.
Check back to page 5 where I posted some figures about the car counts. I feel like GT PSP has a lot of cars in it because they were easy to add from GT4 and act as fillers to boost the car count. GT5's cars are, for the most part, shrouded in mystery, and I feel like they'd cut some GT PSP rides to accomodate the new ones n GT5. But then again, if you can transfer all the GT PSP cars to GT5, we may be seeing a smaller than hoped number of new rides in GT5.
I know that in past GTs, we had a small number of cars cut from the previous roster in order to make room for a few new cars in the new game. I hope this isn't the case in GT5, that we get all the past cars from all the past Gran Turismo games. I'm not sure that there are 200 new cars to put into GT5 anyway.I feel like they'd cut some GT PSP rides to accomodate the new ones n GT5. Lets get the facts straight. Playstation adverstised GT5 Prologue saying "Head Start on Gran Turismo 5 -- Get a jump on the competition. You can transfer your Gran Turismo 5 Prologue progress to Gran Turismo 5 when it releases." and you can see the page here were it describes this feature http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/products/gt5p/ Seeing that By April 30, 2008, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue had shipped 2.23 million worldwide according to Sony Computer Entertainment and Polyphony Digital, with 270,000 units in Japan, 550,000 in North America, 1.38 million in Europe, and 30,000 in Asia.[2] As of August 2009, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue has shipped 3.94 million copies worldwide, with 690,000 copies in Japan, 820,000 in North America, 2.33 million in Europe, and 100,000 in Southeast Asia.[59]
As of December 2010, the games has sold 5.09 million copies making it the second highest selling PlayStation 3 title of all time being beaten by its successor Gran Turismo 5.[60] You can see this on wikipediahttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gran_Turismo_5_Prologue
Personally I don't think this is a matter of weather or not I want to have an F1 car when I started playing GT5, its a matter of Playstation advertising GT5 Prologue for Playstation as something that would be transferable. And because of that I believe it was the single most compelling reason for the people who purchased Prologue to do so.
Seems like grounds for a huge lawsuit.
alexleightonFeatures subject to change without notice.. I'm sure you'll find this (or something meaning the same) somewhere within both games.
