Your preparations for GT5?

Looks like FiOS is spreading :D I get an average speed around 100down/25up with my FiOS line.

Yay! speedtest.com says that I'm faster than 99% of the world's connections down, and 98% up. unfortunately, though, I have no less than seven devices accesing the internet at any given time, so there goes that ;P I have to shut them all down before I do any hardcore racing.

Hard wired is the way to go. I always find that WiFi latency is too high. Although I don't really have much choice considering I've got a 20GB PS3 :ouch:

I'm one step closer in preparation. I just received my Wheelstand Pro in the mail yesterday. Its awesome and will work well with my evil plans.

That 99% was with WiFi :D my PS3 always seems slower, so I have to mess with settings. I would have it hard-wired, but it's 60+ feet away from the nearest ehternet/coaxial port or my router, and I can't very well move it to my ps3 because of lack of space/ventilation.

whoops.

PS3 80GB - Xmas Present 2008 :D
GT5P - Xmas Present 2008 :D :D
21" Goodmans HDTV - Xmas Present 2007
Logitech Driving Force GT - £75
Homemade Cockpit - £???

I'm a student so I'm living on a budget and since I've passed my driving test going back to the PS3 pad (as good as it is) has taken away some of the excitement of GT. When i was at the Motorshow in London many moons ago i used the Toyota F1 simulator and it was AMAZING! So i'm thinking of a homemade cockpit but obviously can't afford a Gameracer (as much as i would love one) so i was wondering if anyone had made one themselves? and if anyone had any useful tips for making one. Thanks.

Im looking to buy some stuff, namely the shopping list on my sig. Im just way too disappointed that Amazon cant ship the stuff to where i live, and that apparently, shipping costs are way to high. I have a budget around US$1000 and need a PS3, G25/G27, and i wish i could pay for a seat, so if someone can help me trough my desperation i'd be thankful, lol. :sly:.

Nice setups all of you btw.

So far its a Samsung 32" 1080p TV
linked up to my hifi for sound (Cambridge Audio Azur 650 amp & a pair of decent quality speakers) Not got the cash for surround sound setup to the quality I would expect yet)
G25
PS3

Still to add,
Eye toy (if this looking around business works properly)
Some kind of wheel stand, currently tending towards the wheelstandpro, but once Uni has ended next week I'm quite tempted to go home and see if I can knock up something suitable in the guarage... Alas not got enough space for a full on cockpit :(

My final preparation is going to be putting in the hours on GT5p to try and sort out my driving style, adapt to the wheel etc, so I'm on form for when the game comes out!
