Yesterday I pulled up Youtube and noticed that the homepage has changed. Before there were 5 smaller tiles across. Now there are three huge tiles. It makes it harder to browse. Anybody else noticed this?

Bloated UIs are cancer and growning like that.

Im not using browser video history or whatever it might be called.
I prefer empty screens that dont try to convince me of what I have to watch.
Also I do not watch any YT video on YT directly but use the embed feature to avoid any ads they want to play - as long as the video can be played that way. There propably are other/better ways, who knows, who cares.

I hadn't but if you're using the skinny menu on the left, you get 4 tiles across.

I would prefer YouTube's home screen prioritised stuff that it knows I want to watch (based on my subscriptions), ahead of stuff it thinks I want to watch, and definitely ahead of stuff I've already watched.... but I also don't mind it showing me stuff I might want to watch... there's been masses of stuff over the years that was worth watching, but I'd not have seen if it relied solely on me doing a search for it.

To me, If you watch a lot of YouTube paying for premium is an absolute no brainer. It's better for me (no ads), the channels get more money for premium viewer time than ad-supported views - which is good for them, and I don't begrudge YouTube making money off it since they're the platform.

I did notice that if I haven't been on the website for awhile, then click on it, when it's loading it shows the outline of the old layout with empty boxes. It was 6 tiles across. Then it flips to the new 3 tile layout so the old one is still in there somewhere. I first primarily use Firefox but it's also changed on Chrome.
