Laguna Seca was a plane crash I honestly didn't know why kkg left when he went off track I thought he braked late until I noticed after the race harsh (someone correct me if I'm wrong) "divebombed" him in every corner when I never saw him in the race I thought I was jus facing kkg one on one but oh well hope next week there are no issues the 22B should be great to drive

Sorry for not showing up and not leaving a notice. We had guests and it took longer than expected. Not sure about the car, but I like those tracks and didn't want to miss them. Well next time ..

Indeed, I've watched the replay and Harsk, too many times, you tried to force your way on the inside of Kingklingeling, by braking too late and leaning in, making contact and only giving the place back because of KKg's frantic use of the horn...

So you're getting a disqualification from the last race (KKg warned you in the 2nd race, didn't he).

FYI, your place in the Zero Cup for the next few weeks is not guaranteed.

Apart from that, I quite enjoyed driving this little thing. One single spin at Laguna Seca cost me 20 seconds, but it was good fun... I hope you enjoyed it as well!
I didn't know that I couldn't braking too late and leaning in. If I would break early, he would close his breaking line. Anyways, I liked the race with you but it's time to stop, so I'm quitting the championship. Goodbye WZ

Hi there WarriusZero, I have just send you a PM about your league / events!

*edit*

As the chatter in the Conversation with @WarriusZero has finally come to an end I have noticed I climbed up to the Reserve roster! My first move up on the ladder, the only way left is up it seems.

I am looking forward to driving with you people this next monday and I hope you'll wave at me if you pass me and turn me into a small orange dot in your rearview mirror!

I have not yet much experience with online racing, however I am more then willing to learn. So please inform me about my failures and stupidity so I actually can learn from those :-)

For those going to practise with the car and raceways in preperation for monday's event please add me and maybe we can have some educational fun prior to raceday!

Max Chilton

So here I am, it’s the morning after and I am tending after my sore foot, blood soaked eyes and aching head by looking at my computer screen like a freshly digged up zombie. Crossing my fingers my boss won’t sneak up on me as I most likely end up feasting my rage upon him and becoming unemployed during that process.
“So what has happened!?” you might think; well let me enlighten you my freshly made friends.

It has been only less than a day ago since I stumbled upon a thread that caught my attention; “Zero Cup”. As being not much of a tuner myself nor do I uphold a great amount of confidence in my own driving skills I decided to click on the title, the rest is history, I joined a bunch of people that drive in circles on a Monday evening behind a TV-screen!

Right after I committed to this ‘driving club’ anxiety struck me, I was driving home from work at that moment… what do they expect from me, can I even match their lowest speed, will I be the driving chicane I detest from real life racing classes like Formula 1, will I become the next Max Chilton?!? Then I blacked out and ended up really close to the barrier on the edge of road, the screaming noise from screeching tires and trucks trying to avoid me woke me up… I… can… NOT… become… the… next… Max Chilton!

So I continued driving home, picked up my kids from daycare and made some arrangements so I could drop them off at my parents place for the night. Cause this night would become mine! Only mine! (unfortunately I kind of forgot to calculate the wife into this plan).

She (or should I name it “It” after yesterday), was waiting for me when I drove up the driveway of my beloved home. The smell of takeaway pizza’s was lingering behind me when I opened the door and entered the living room. I started to eat franticly in order to save as much time as possible. My wife sat down next to me and tried to set up some conversation, after 9 years I have learned some ways to pretend I am listening when I was actually already planning my perfect racing lines through the first couple of corners.

As soon as the pizza’s started its way to become smelly nasty stuff inside my body, I closed down the curtains and dimmed the lights. Music had to relax my mood so I could start fresh on this next adventure, so I turned the radio on and tuned in on Sky Radio (at last this channel has some use). I opened the fridge and took out some soda and all the tasty snacks I could carry, being well prepared is half the race won right?! The room covered in darkness needed some light to I ended up firing up some candles making sure they did not reflect from my TV-screen. My wife was still sitting on the edge of the couch watching this ritual unfold. I kicked of my shoes and untied my tie… when I started to open my shirt I noticed my wife sneaking away from me and going upstairs. One less problem to take care of I thought. I have read in some magazine that weight will be the main factor in Formula 1 this year, so I planned on racing as light as possible that evening. Wearing nothing more than my favorite racing undies and socks together with my orange racing gloves.. I took my comfy seat and placed it behind my driving wheel, the preparations were made!

So there I was, completely and utterly ready for my practice runs so I wouldn’t become “that guy” next Monday!
The Gran Turismo logo filled my tv-screen and my face started to grin when I thought about all the turns that would become mine, the chicane’s I would conquer, the lap times I would shred to pieces! The next series of events happened as fast as my controller permitted me, bought the car, colored it orange, selected the race-track and gripped my beloved racing wheel. There it was… like a untouched virgin laying in front of me… the straight from Suzuka Circuit… this time I knew it for sure, I would make the first turn without ending up in the gravel and within the magical 1 minute mark (yes I am a slow driver!). The lights turned green and my foot hit the pedal…

But there it was, suddenly, without prior notice, lurking from the shadows. My wife… standing in the doorway wearing nothing more than the lingerie she bought as a surprise for our anniversary. The signs next to the straight began to flash 500… 400… her face was not reflecting the mood she might have had when she planned this ‘surprise’, she looked evil like Sebastian Vettel being lapped by Pastor Maldonado! 300… 200… my foot started to let off the throttle and gently but intimately touched the brake pedal… No idea where it came from and how she could have gotten hold of it so quickly, but the plate, being covered with pizza leftovers, was suddenly in her hands as she started to make a large swing… 100…. I knew I had to apply more pressure to the brake in order to reach the climax of the first turn…. 50…. It was then when my hands started turning the wheel, setting my car up for the middle apex when my vision turned black. With my final piece of consciousness I noticed the Subaru spinning out of control combined with a sharp pain coming from the left side of my head.

The car spun out into the gravel… the plate shattered against my head… the world turned black…

I guess I will have to bring roses this evening and maybe even a box of chocolates if I don’t want to become the next Max Chilton…

Dear mr. WarriusZero,

So I watched some racing videos on youtube recently, preparing for monday's race of course, and I noticed most 'cool' people drive using the cockpitview. As I most recently made it through the first corner of Suzuka I thought I should up the difficulty for myself a bit... so I tried making my laps around the circuit in Cockpit mode... but then I was shocked!!!

Out of all the cars we could've chosen for next week race you had to choose one with an all black cockpit :scared:

Was this an accident, a well thought plan to counter those pesky cockpit drivers?

So cut to the point here are my two questions:

1. If there are similar cars with an interior could we race them instead of those without cockpit (also they are more pwitty in photomode)?

2. Whose driving from what point of view and why? I find myself switching a lot as I am trying to figure out what works best for me while still keeping up some decent laptimes!

Recent investigations have shown that "bumper cam" and "driver view" have the same point of observation, with driver view including the car interior masking. The old imported standard cars don't have a modeled interior and only a simple black mask. Since I also only want to race on drivers view, I try and avoid all former standard cars as much as possible.

Haha no it's not meant to counter those pesky cockpit drivers as myself is in fact a cockpit driver. Blacked out interiors are a an easy way to tell that a car is standard and not premium. A standard car is a car that has a less clean and nice exterior vs. a premium car and all standard cars have blacked out interiors. Standards have less details in premium but I still race in cockpit view because it still has the general shape of the vehicle you are racing. Premium cars look better and clearer as well as having a full and complete interior. I certainly like premium cars better than standard but there are many great standard cars and if we limit our choices to premium cars our choices will be really limited. Standard cars don't drive any worse than premium cars so I don't think there's anything wrong with standard cars. Most of the cars in the game are standard so you're gonna have to get used to it

bumper cam 👍 always did , always will !
fits perfect for my sim rig monitor position and angle !
cockpit view only if I could switch the steering wheel and the ai hands off ,like in PC sims

HELLO SPEEDY MCQUEEN, NO NEED TO SHOUT!!!
No, really, you're not going to get anywhere like that.

As for the use of standard cars in the Zero Cup, sorry, I try to avoid it, but at the same time we would be missing some very nice cars.
I'm like KingKlingeling, I tend to drive in bumper view when the racing is tight, but also like to use the interior which makes it more of a challenge.

And to answer your question, @Kronos1979, when there is a choice, I use the premium cars (example: the Alpine).
