Ok I must admit I'm not a fan of the new generic screeching guitar review intro and outro. Hopefully it's only a one time thing, but I'm getting a sneaky suspicion that it is here to stay (at least for awhile).

He addresses it in the end credits where his email address is given with, "Now this is all looking a bit more professional, isn't it, although I'm certain some of you 🤬 are already putting this down as my shark jumping moment."

And on the final screen, "Whine because I don't want to ripoff copyrighted music anymore."

Also if you hang on through the end credits you'll be treated to Yahtzee's review of "The Crystal Skull" movie.

Ah so he did. Thanks for catching that FK as obviously I totally missed it. His/their choice of generic, copyright free guitar riffs still bites though.

Here's his comment about it from Fully Ramblomatic.

The review of Lego Indiana Jones this week also brings with it a new, original theme tune and intro sequence. And so, as reliably as the tides, there has been a lot of hostility towards it. Most of it I'm putting down to the human instinct to be opposed to sudden changes in routine and status quo. I'd like to point out that if the reviews had had original music and an intro like that from the very beginning no-one would have cared. I'd also like to point out that I kind of thought everyone was here for the video game criticism, which is unchanged.

Firstly, no, this wasn't because of pressure from the Escapist. It was my idea to spruce up the videos and make them look a bit more professional, because otherwise it reflects poorly on me. Extreme paranoia concerning copyright infringement may also have played a part and I wanted to err on the side of caution.

The new intro might be a bit PEPSI MAX for you but frankly I like it. It gets me pumped. And for the music I asked for something awesome with squealy guitars because I'm extremely white and therefore into classic rock. Give it a few weeks, I'm sure it'll grow on everyone.

Meh, I'm over it. Sure, it was a cute fad to begin with, but now it's pretty much all the same.

I do like the comments he puts in the end credits, though.

I've never watched these before, so i started with the games i own to see if i agree, MGS4 and COD4. I completely agreed with most of what he said on COD4, but the MGS4 I didn't agree with much at all, ok the cutscenes are long and so on but the gameplay feels spot on to me (being a fan the cutscenes were good for me but my friend played through the entire game with me and said it was the best game he'd played in a long time, and he'd only delved into MGS3).

Right :lol:. I was kinda wondering if I was gonna get mod a smack down at some point, so far so good though. But it is the only way, at least I know of, to get the thread to jump to the top of the page every Wed.

Braid review link is posted. One of his better reviews I think, although he was probably a little harsh to Adrian.
 
Anyone seen his Alone in the Dark review.... its just pure class.. especially the bit about how 'being able to skip the game' is listed as a feature on the box! :lol:

I wish he would do GT5P but I guess there wouldnt be much to say...

I'm sure he would find something to go on about. But then again I haven't really liked people that review the GT series that don't like the game as much as we do.
