Franz, quick question/request.
First off, great stuff. I like the composition, and the ps touch really puts it all together.
As commented earlier the vintage feel you gave to the classic cars looked perfect, and I've always been particular to the Nissan 240ZG, I'd like to see what your artistic take on the car would look like.

Excellent pix, franz. Everything in post 42 and 54 is great - that's hard to say about anyone's gallery. Nice to see someone else who spends time getting the perfect framing, but you do it better :)

I see you tried to get some good pics at Trial Mountain. Hard, huh? There's just not enough color. Maybe it would work better in black and white.... The best photo places I've found on that track are coming out of the tunnel (where you took your picture), the long left turn leading into the tunnel, and the long left turn after the back straight. There are some nice mountains in the distance and you can get some nice color and very realistic pictures there :) Nice attempt on Trial Mountain, too bad the track's not so pretty anymore.

Nike One Part II

Cusco Impreza JGTC

PS - Thanks for the tips JT, Trial Mountain is super dull for Photomode
but the yellow Ford GT is so bright, kinda like colour car in B&W background

Wow! The first picture of the Nike and the first and last pictures of the Subaru had me almost drooling! Especially the last one of the Subaru... so real looking.

Wow!Are these real?I cannot tell the difference!

How do you get the all yellow Ford Gt? The one above is not the concept car (wrong headlamps)

I didn't win it ... I traded in from someone's save
as far as I know, there is a race you can win no stripe Ford GT
I have seen pictures of black, blue, white and red

thanks Dr.AK and kavster

btw ... I will fix the ford GT image later, imageshack had been naughty last night

You have to win premium sports lounge, I got the red one.

Great stuff btw Franz!

Agreed, LOVE that first Nike shot :) Too bad you couldn't use it in the competition, it'd be a sure win. And yeah, when I went back and looked at your shots I saw you were going for the contrast of a colorful car on a bland background, I just didn't notice it the first time :)

And I believe the solid-colored GT is won in the Premium Sports Lounge in the Extreme Hall. I have one, and I think that's where I got it.

*edit* Bah! Too late :dunce:

Another Update for Today

MX Crossport
for emblem compo - that's why they have similar style

Mini vs Fiat500
Rework of my old pics

I hate you franz... :banghead: you have the original mini!!!! i sooo wanna take pictures of that car! stupid NTSC U/C version! damn you!!!!!

don't philippine also run NTSC/J version?
I know malysia have that as well
well .. copy version in most case

well .. for those who run NTSC/J must be real jealous that we getting 12 new cars in the game. Also the photomode is better in NTSC U/C and PAL, plus A-Spec/B-Spec switchable during eudurance

if you compare these new features, one mini is nothing after all

No link sorry ~
I have 3 versions of GT4: Chinese version, North America version and Korean version
Chinese version = Japanese version that debuted on Dec 28

Photomode difference: when you press R1, R2, L1, L2, the according value will blink under the preview in NA version while Japan will not. Also after you take a picture, you can zoom in for better look in NA version while Japan can't.

12 New cars were added to Europe version and North America version. e.g. Jaguar XJR LM, Pegeot 905, Mazda MX Crossport, Proto Spirra, etc ...

in Korean version, it has few more cars than NA and Europe version, but those are korean cars and 1 Altezza Race car

for the A-Spec/B-Spec thing, you can only B-Spec all the way or A-Spec all the way in Japanese version, while NA/Euro version allow you to switch during the pit

Can you take some shots of the extra cars in the Korean version? Please?
:sly:

I just don't understand why they left out the old Mini in the NA and European version... especially here in Europe, since the Mini has a very very big following here... (In the town that I live in, there is a car dealer who specialises in British oldies... he restaurates them as well. Sometimes there are standing 10 Minis alone! And I live in Germany... I can only imagine the following of this car in Britain or so.)

I have no time to play korean version
unless if I can find a 100% save on net
anyhow ... I will try to get those car when I have time

btw ... thanks all for the comment
glad you guys like my pics

Great pics!

So how far in PS do you go? Is it basic brightness/contrast or do you take it a step further? Im not asking for your "secrets" just wondering roughly what you do to them. :dopey:
you know. I've the same question for you Franz, and for you too vr6gti. And dr. Ak.

You guys rock.

I think what I do in photoshop is colour correction or alternation
depends on what colour I am looking for in the final image
I use gradient mapping (overlay mode) and/or photo filter to reach the final colour scheme
when I use gradient mapping, I have to be very careful which 2 colours to use
left side is for the shadow, right side is for the highlight
for being realistic, always looking for the opposite colour of the original
example, motegi is kinda orange, so you have to go for blue/purple
usually the best combination is dark blue -> light yellow
sometimes I use colour dodge mode, but the colour picking will be very different
you have to experience more to know what you doing

after I finish the colour theme, I will work on curve or brightness&contrast
sometimes I also have to clean up the jaggies, sharpen, or add soft focus
maybe even add scanlines or noise for special effects

I guess this information will be helpful enough :)
