Well, I finally decided on a 'cockpit'. I bought a Hyperdrive cockpit but it sits too low for my TV. I ended up buying a $30 table from Target, it works perfect. I just roll my chair in and I'm good to go. The table folds away when I'm not using it. It's perfect for my setup.

does your wheel come loose I but these conduit clamps on the back to hold it on but you have to use screws cool
I don't quite see what your saying, your steering wheel comes loose? I don't have anything special done withthe steering wheel. Just the stock clamps it comes with. The piece of wood it's mounted on is about an inch thick and is held to the rig via U-bolts.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but for 55 bucks shipped it looks like a hell of a deal.

If anyone has tried this out or feels like getting it, please post a review. I am looking for something sturdy as my current setup is a rickety folding table.

Or at least post your opinions on what you think about the idea. I'm considering getting one.

I don't like the bus driving feel of such a high setup. Thats just me though, you may have no problem with it.

BTW Here are (FINALLY) Some pics of my setup. Write up coming soon ;)

My dad gave it a spin :sly:

NOTE:I know it looks messy, these were the "just made" pics. I've since cleaned up the setup by removing the barcodes and also using zipties to keep the wire from being everywhere.

I'll probobly add some custom Lay-Z boy additions when I have the time. Cupholder, Remote control holder, etc. As well as Cosmetic additions: Front panel, etc. Pics of course when I do ;)

looks fine to me, the black piping gives a "pro" look. When you do attatch panels use those small door magnets, makes it so much easier to get into the unit if anything needs fixing. 👍

I don't like anything magnetic being near my electronics (I'm paranoid)

well it sure could do sum sort of braces, i think its gonna snap if u manhandle the wheel

i was going to do braces, but i sat on it and realized it was plenty strong. It doesnt move at all. The arms are cut at a 45 degree angle on the bottom so they sit flush on the floor and get support from that and the 6 screws i used at each base :)

try this out if you don't want to build one yourself

I was thinking about one of those myself. The guy is very helpful to talk to and he'll build it with alterations to dimensions if you need them, such as a wider leg spread, etc.

I actually went with something else because that wouldn't quite work with the chair I'm using, but other than that I probably would have bought one. They seem well made and well designed.

Friend's setup. He says it's a prototype. He's gonna look at this thread...

The thing I like about this setup is that it looks adjustable and able to be folded down and stored easily. The only thing I would change is put a bar across the far bottom to set the pedals against. For my setup, I'd remove the first bar across the bottom because the base of my chair is a circle , so removing that bar would make it fit closer to my chair. Your friend wouldn't happen to have any kind of drawings or better pictures, would he?

heres the product of my day off. was thinking i was going to work on my car today, nope. anyways, went to menards this morning, bought 36' of 1x4, the cheap stuff, $8.97. stopped at the local hardware store and got 40 1 3/4 wood screws, $2.00. got home and starting measuring. i used my 91 t/a for measurements, so wheel and pedal placement is like a real car. also the seat is out of it, i should hurry up and buy those corbeau a4s :) . went and spent another $2 somethin on carriage bolts for the seat, and after discovering that the bracket is offset, went back and spent another dollar something on some longer ones. ended up using 30' of the wood. notice the gussets for strength on the wheel stand. spend about 4 hours making it, including trips to the stores, and my lazy pace of work

dial up beware!

and my real race car that i got the measurements from and that will never get done thanks to this game

paint is drying right now, completed pics to come!

nice setups guys. might try some of the designs for myself if my freind cant get the gokart frames we want to modify for cockpits if we do get them will post pics once done and if we dont will post pics of what we do build.

man some awesome stuff in here .... ive allways used my lap and the floor :) well untill someone mistook my madkatz wheel for my old one that didnt work and threw it away

dunno what im gonna do tomorrow when i get GT4 .... could take the passenger seat out of my mustang and set it on the floor lol

I'd also like to say hello to Hey Joe, long time no see....used to play xbox live motogp2 together and always enjoyed it. Also i can cut those plans very easily, not sure how much it would cost you but I can work it out.

sorry about that, I had no intention of spamming your board with adverts and only posted it here because I thought it would be of interest. I would have posted just a picture but it didn't work.

It's definitely of interest, which is why I left it up there. No apology necessary! I didn't think you were planning on an advertising campaign... if you really had been, I already would have had to delete 10 identical posts and ban you. It really was just a friendly pointer or word to the wise.

It does look like a nice product, and do feel free to put a link to your site in your siganture.
