Hi Guys,
Long time reader, first time poster...

Here is my setup:

Basic miata cloth seat from junkyard for 30bucks

Wooden frame for around 20buck of material

2 Aura Bass Shakers 30bucks

This took a couple hours to put together, no big deal just measure and cut. Seat already had headrest speakers in it, so I just wired those into my JVC amp. The shakers mount with a couple screws and run off a defunct selfpowered sub.

The complete sound system:
JVC 500W Amp
2 12inch 3way sony speakers (Front)
2 8in Boston Acoustic (Rears)
2 Aura Bass Shakers
2 Headrest speakers

The shakers are great, and really easy to setup. I would highly recommend anyone who has the will, the space, the so called need.

Have fun

I'd also like to say hello to Hey Joe, long time no see....used to play xbox live motogp2 together and always enjoyed it. Also i can cut those plans very easily, not sure how much it would cost you but I can work it out.
OOOH! I want that right now! When will you have it finished?

How much is that American? 100 bucks or so? Make it 100 shipped and you've got your first customer.

What about this ->

Its 100 pounds or around 200 US dollers, living in the UK there isnt that much choice as most of the cockpits that you can buy and have been mentioned on here are USA only shipping :|

Anyway I think I might get this and a DFP, it folds down too, which is handy as I havent got much room :D

Parts and labor.

A few boards, bolts, wingnuts, black paint, saw, and a drill.

No word on mass production yet. This might be the first step in the creation of a gaming accessory empire. Or not...

heres my setup for now, i havent decided on building any thing as a whole all together but i might do something similar with the pvc piping except mounted under just the front of the seat rail, that way i can still have a completely functional seat for my setup, and have something sturdy.

righ tnow i just have a small coffee table with 50lbs on top so i wont lift the whole thing with the wheel attached to it and a civic si seat which i will use for my final setup. i just got these seats today from a frien and had two small boxes before. this is WAAAAAY better than what i had, without a doubt.

can you at least draw up some rough plans for that thing? is it adjustable? collapsable?

I ordered this sunday. From his feedback it looked like a really good quality option for us with less space. The guy is MEGA helpful. So helpful infact, he shipped me a regular one when i requested a bigger dimension one. He emailed me and told me that he shipped out the regular one and was sooo sorry that he shipped my bigger one (as requested in the 1st place) and i can keep both. I will post a review as soon as i get em which should be by next week. And if you are thinkin about getting one now this guy is awesome to deal with. Great buisness practices 👍

i saw those but i'd rather have something heavier to withstand when u turn sharp and fast....ist nice but imo not worth the 90 bucks when to make one with hinges to fold away would be cheaper...but hey tell us how it works and maybe u could prove me wrong

dirty dest...but its a leather desk chair with a fur rug back, 13" tv.

on either side are my computer moniters (19" and 15") this setup is also good for watching tv

i need to get a tv tuner card so i can play on my computer moniter...does anyone know if they make cheep 1080i compatible tuner cards? because computer moniters should be able to display it...

oh, and has anyone else found the slots in the top of the DFP useful for holding quarters? and the tightener things useful for holding pens and spoons.

if you're wondering why i need quarters and pens dont ask. but the spoon is for eating snow cones...(go outside, get snow, add syrup, eat, play gt4)

The best thing for you to get to play gt4 on your computer monitor is a vga cable for the PS2. The don't make PC input cards that support 1080i for several reasons. First is for copyright protection so there isn't a way to pirate HD stuff. The second is that the PCI bus isn't large enough to processes a signal that is 1080i.

PS. I see that you use trillian.. good man. I still can't convince my friends to switch, despite the fact that they use all the services.

I have corbeaus in my car so I have my stock seats in my attic. I may just have to pull a seat down one day and borrow my neighbors tools. I could probably do the same with the other seat and sell it to someone.

Ok guys, I dont recall seeing this mentioned in this thread, but was linked to over at the AVS forums. I think this is a good no brainer route to go. At $35 it makes anything else not worth my time to build.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but for 55 bucks shipped it looks like a hell of a deal.

If anyone has tried this out or feels like getting it, please post a review. I am looking for something sturdy as my current setup is a rickety folding table.

Or at least post your opinions on what you think about the idea. I'm considering getting one.

Someone posted something about shifters.

I don't remember where it was, but I looked through this entire thread.

Does anyone have any links to sites that sell 'aftermarket' shifters that work with the DFP?

Only company I know of that sells 'aftermarket' shifters that will work on the PS2 w/GT4 is Frex.com/gp...you can see their shifter (and handbrake) here....

FYI...The Frex web site indicates delivery times are 1-2 months out from the day an order is submitted.

Man some of these setups are really nice. I have over 150 feet of pvc piping in the garage from a r/c track project just lying there. I think I'll have to pick up a wheel and build myself one of these.

I've been triing to figure out a cheap solution for a seat. I found one last night. At Walmart in the sporting goods they sell folding seats for a boat. It only cost 24 bucks. I bought it and will finish my rig tonight. I'll post picks soon. Its a great solution to a seat plus it folds down so your rig won't take up as much space. Its actually a nice padded comfortable seat. You guys on budgets might check it out.
