Bathurst in VR has to be one of the most enjoyable experiences in this whole game. No matter what car you are driving it is just epic and people who haven't tried PSVR yet really should 👌👌👌 Anyway, just tried a race on the US account. Was interesting to say the least. The drop out rate is mad in these lobbies 🤣 Got my QT down to 2:13.1 and I reckon I have more time still to find.

I do find it strange how the BOP works on GT7, I was pounding around the mountain in the GT4 cup on iRacing the last couple of days in a McLaren 570 and I couldn't get below a 2:15 yet a Gr4 FWD mazda is somehow far quicker 🤣🤣🤣🤣. The not so real driving simulator 🙈

100% agree. The undulation of the track makes the PSVR2 shine. It’s the only way to virtually race cars.

I won a race at Suzuka yesterday, without crossing the line in 1st, the leader should be fuming!

Those PP tuning races never seem to work on this game for the dailies. The last one we had was the Jiimny which was broken by the engine swaps, you could have 200 bhp more than the car starting besides you on the grid and if they weren't an high enough level they pretty much had to sit out the whole week.

Maybe the Unimog would be fairer since it doesn't have that option until at least the next update but it would put everyone on the same playing field if they raced them stock, at SSRX 😏

Go forward a couple of frames. I bet you crossed the line before he did.

It finishes a lap when the driver crosses, not the front of the car.

Nice result. With all your wins how are you still a DR C? I guess there are a lot of self inflicted offs and last results we don't see, eh? :D

Might have to give Mt Panorama a try in the Gr.4's...don't think I've run them there yet.👍

Had a great week at Trial Mountain but realized after 'just one more' race last night that it was time for it to move on. Stellar run there with only one race out of the top 5 (P9...just gave-up, lol) after a couple hundred miles of racing.

This was nothing spectacular, more emblematic of the week. Little mistakes here and there kept me out of the podium battle, but close enough to capitalize on mistakes on the final lap and a great 'shoot the gap' launch onto the front straight that netted me another position:

Hoping this week is as much fun!

EDIT
Just noticed we have Gr.3's at Maggi. That makes me very happy...I know we run there a lot, but it's a fun course with speed.😁

EDIT II (yeah, should read more before posting)
FF ONLY at Mt Panorama??? No....

That's a lovely livery. Your times in clean air are a touch faster than mine and you are a bit neater but you are right, a little error here or there really hurt at Trial Mountain, if you lost the tow you were a bit left behind. I often messed up the entrance to the back straight. YOur videos are very sharp with rich colour, I don't understand how some of you do it as most of us, including myself, have very washed out and seriously degraded clips.

So Bathurst, my spiritual home (I mean look at my avatar) and a track I was super strong at with the D-Pad. The pad meant the rear end was more stable than that of wheel users so I was able to make up a SERIUOUS amount of time into the dipper and through the esses. Bathurst is also about exits, there no fewer than 4 key exits and having a stable rear is invaluable. In saying that i'd struggle to be smooth through the Reid Park/McPhillamy section (the fast left handers) and the right hander after the cutting. It's a shame it is a Mazda one make but I sort of have to give it a lash don't I? I suspect I am going to struggle under brakes into the dipper but we shall see.

Appreciate the kind words!👍

Not sure on the colors but will say that, when viewed on the same monitor, I don't notice a big difference between yours/mine. That's typically on my PC screens, which aren't superstars, so will have to check on the regular/4K panel to see how they look. The only standout difference that pops to mind is hardware (on PS4Pro -vs- PS5).

Absolutely LOVE Bathurst -BUT- absolutely loathe the FF platform. Seriously, would rather race barstools 'round there...and that would be absolutely terrifying.🤣

Well I haven't raced much on the US account so that’s why I am still at C. As for my main account, I was B/S this morning and then had a run in with a very nasty driver and it got ugly 🙈🙈. I actually really only get to race properly on a Monday morning now so I cannot grind out results over the week to help my rating

Hi everyone. 2 months ago I quit racing GT7 because I was in a lot of stress (burn-out like) in my life, and I felt that sport mode racing added to the stress, instead of it being a relaxing experience. So I don't know any of the developments of GT7 in the meantime.

Now that I've addressed some of the stress factors I got curious about racing again. I saw Bathurst gr. 4 today and decided to do a few TT laps, before jumping into a race. Instead of driving nervously on the limit constantly, I just decided to have fun and accept that I will finish in the back regions. I converted a P8 start into a P4 finish, and a P4 start into a podium! Never got any track limits because I raced somewhat more gently.

I just didn't fight the faster guys, they sometimes took care of themselves by getting penalties or spin out. Oh I also switched from AT to MT. Before I had so much stress, manual transmissioning just added an unwanted layer of complexity. But I decided to try it out with some offline racing, and I adapted to it quite quickly.

Watching Tidgney's guide it seems Bathurst is basically a TOCA throwback to the mid-90's English touring cars. Australians never really liked them despite the great racing, whilst we like our cars buttoned down more than Americans do (so not too floaty), we like our race cars hairy chested and ideally with a large NA V8 screaming away. I went to races where both the 2 lite cars and V8's were racing and TBH, there's no comparing the visceral experience of a 5 litre V8 howling past you all fire breathing and nasty vs a 2 litre buzz fest.

Bathurst back then was interesting, up the top was properly wild, one Scottish driver said "they eat their young up there" and he was bang on, it was utter bedlam. They brought in a rule where you could only bring in 1 case of beer per person per day so the die hards would go up there 2 weeks before the race and bury beer.

Going frame by frame it looks like the lap ended when the rear tyres cross the finish line so maybe the timing line is ahead of the painted one. I was still slightly behind at that point too, I didn't know it went on the driver, I know that is how GTA works with the sumo.
