what do you mean original? i mean the reason that i made this thread was because there were no other dedicated threads for cockpits. and what do you mean try something? i have gone through the cheap cockpit alternitives thread.....

anyways...i guess if this doesn't work out well then...blah no big deal

The cockpit of vtec looks very good (good F1 look , that's what I like about it)... and I think it ain't a not expansive method as well

hi all

i've been lurking around for a while andhave finally registered
i am about to buy a dfp 👍 and will obviously need a some ideas for a stand/cockpit

now i know that there are a couple of threads for cheap alternitives(sp?) and plenty of individual threads, but how bout we put them all together to make one big gallery (both bought and built/DIY) as i am too lazy to seach all the threads lol ?

I understand what poopsht is saying...A thread of just pictures!!!! When I was building mine it takes forever to scroll thru all the text to finally find someone with pictures. No coments! Just post a picture. I dont care what anyone thinks and im not interested in anyones coments. I just want to see pictures. who cares if you have posted your pics in another thread. How about just reposting the pic again with out coments! It seems so simple. Cockpit Gallery!!!! Not cockpit coments. There, take that!...I will start with mine.

My setup sucks, wooden chair with pillows on it, and sometimes its not straight so one arm starts hurting, and then my butt goes numb or dead because the chair is so hard.

wow nurby, that folding cockpit looks really nice now it's been painted. Could you possibly get a pic of it with the DFP wheel on with your homemade casing thing on it? That would look so good in all black. Im gonna go buy some black paint for my cockpit soon, I got the money so I just need to get round to it.

I dunno if i'll ever upgrade my wheel and shifter n stuff unless I get a DFP. I never realised how comfortable my wheel and cockpit feel until I got home from playing Initial D at a local arcade with my friend the other day. The wheel on the Initial D machines are HUGE! And I couldnt get the seat in a position that was at the right distance from the pedals without the bottom of the wheel digging into my legs. I guess it's just conclusive proof that if you want something done well, you have to do it yourself.

EDIT: I've just photoshopped a pic of my cockpit...poorly, to get a rough idea of what itll look like when painted black. It should look a little better than this seeing as you wont be able to see the wood grain through the paint:

I do, but to make 4.6 posts a day it doesnt take a lot of computing time. I got mountain biking and skating quite a bit, i do one of the two every day. And like poopsht said, if you're not gonna post anything worth reading, just dont bother.

I work 6, 12hr days broken down like this; 3, 12hr day shifts; 24hr break then 3, 12hr night shifts then 3 days off. I have a 16yr old kid and im an expert class mountian biker and cat 3 road & cyclocross racer, training about 14 hrs a week......playing GT4 and working on my bikes and motorcycle is my relaxing time. Id say i have a life! heres my new cockpit pics, i moved the legs and lowerd the seat and tv stand then painted it. I orderd bass shakers off ebay to replace the subwoofer and im working on building a shifter. I dont really understand that "get a life" remark from someone posting on this sight. ya its just a game but doing the other things like a wheel and building a cockpit is all apart of playing. (besides, all my daughters friends that play the GT games think im cool!) lol, well this web sight has given me ideas to help the kids build a cockpit with what they have. Vtec is my hero! I just saw you shifter idea, it looks simple and great!

Yeah... I've got a life...but some of us here at GTP like to do more with GT4 then just sit in a chair/couch using a Dual Shock controller to steer a car with! So, seeing as your post wasn't all that related to the subject, do YOU have life or do you enjoy making unrelated posts in threads that don't interest you?

I don't think it's good for your amp to be on it's side like that... heat dissipation from the components is designed for it to be flat...

OK, thanks for the tip. problem is that doesn't fit on the wooden table. but right now i'm making another table specificaly designed for the sim, so I will use it on the horizontal position.

The money I make from being a pimp pays for my GT4 addiction...Just kidding of course! .....It either comes from saving money...or just going all out on a credit card!


But now, if I had one of these instead, then I would definitely have a problem!
