That's the best one as far as performance/price is concerned.
You plug the stick, insert the included CD in the PS2, and choose the replays/gamesaves to transfer.
Then you plug the stick on your PC, cut and paster the .max file (and rename it) and then upload it in your post.
The only tough part is to know which replay you need to transfer.

This kind of device is worth anyway since you can save anything (I have about 30Mb of gamesaves on my PC)
Keep me informed if you order it and your time won't be 'unofficialized' next week.

So this is the easiest one to use then? Cause I was goin out after work today to get the AR max evo... is that one much harder?

I did that, and when i found it un-reliable, bought the AR MAX pack including the dedicated stick from play.com.

Much easier and loads more reliable.

The problem with the evo pack is that you then have to buy a compatable 3rd party usb stick to use with it, and it's a pain.
You have to get a list of sticks that are compatable with the ps2, then cross check it with the list for the AR software, total P.I.T.A.!

Get the AR-MAX pack with the maxdrive included!

OK so i just ordered the Max Drive by itself....29.99 us a lil pricy for a 16mb usb drive...
I've spent more $$$ on GT4 than on the whole damn ps-2

The game....$49
DFP $127+tax
128mb scandisk flash drive 20$
max drive 29+shipping
also a seperate mem card just for GT4 10$

But all in all I play it enough to make it worth it to me :)

Aargh!

It's worth it!

Otherwise you wouldn't do it?

N'uff Said?

got in a fight today...

4 girls, 3 with 1 foot long sticks ~ an inch thick, and 1 guy
vs.
me and 2 other girls

1 girl and my friend, stood face to face with each other untill the other girl sucker punch'd my friend in the face... i was within arms lenghth ~ so i decided to smoke the girl in the face

i know hitting girls are wrong... but at the time it seem'd like the right thing to do, defending my friend ~ what do you guys think about what i did?

then after i hit her, 2 other girls with sticks and the brother came rushing at me
~ i hit another girl dead on in the face, and the brother as well when he came at me
~ but he eventually got me to the ground, on slippery grass in -3 degrees weather
~ so me and the guy basically wrestled the whole time, as i prevented him from doing anything to me... but i wasnt able to do much to him either.... as this was happening the girl i hit 1st was hitting me with the stick

~ it gave me a little cut inside my ear ( nothing serious )
~ bruise on the top of my head, little blood at first
~ tiny puffy lip
~ and 2 of my fingers split open, after a couple punches landed ( due to the cold )

im choked that i lost the fight....
but i was out #'d

with no real backup tonite, the one night im without one of my buddies.......

another question is.... im thinking they live in my neighbourhood... and the boyfriend of my girl friend is really mad that she got a hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee bruise under her eye

so we are thinking about retaliating, i kno this is wrong.... but it is the way things are done around here @ my age

and i would have been with my brO's nothing could have happend......

ARGH!!! i have to goto work tomorow @ the bank with a puffy lip, and injured fingers ( which i really need to use while working )

man crazy stuff...

i think in that ocasion, if you defend someone you like, you can beat up everyone that acts like a clown, regardless of being a woman or a guy...

about the retaliation, violence generates more violence, but people are indee very stupid at times, so, i understand sometimes is what you have to do to get respect...

high school and early college guys are usually dumb, so they can only understand you when you hit them hard...

don´t know if you and your friends should go after these nasty girls and the one guy, but i can understand if you do...

just one question:

why the fighting? what happen really? i know what happened during the fight, but what for?

take care 👍

(one other thing... with your hands like that, can you still play GT?)

I'm 34 and I've never ever been involved in any fight.
Talking has always been my way to deal with problems, and it has always worked.
Even once, 10 years ago when I was in the army and a guy who was 6'5 tall for 240 lbs wanted to punch me till death (that's what he said). I sat down, talked to him for 10 minutes (but it looked like it was lasting hours and hours), and in the end I was his best friend. He decided to be my "bodyguard" for the rest of the time we spent in the army. I had news about him a few years later : he was in jail because he had punched and raped a girl who lived in his building. 👎

As for retaliating, if you think that 19 is an age at which you can know that something is silly and still do it, then nothing that I can say would make you change your mind.

i read my post again, and it sounded too violent...

maybe if you can ignore this situation would be better...

Hot,

Sorry to read about the fight. Hope you aren't too badly hurt, but to be honest I agree with Cyril and Francisco

Violence begets violence, and in the end it will get out of control!

Sticks this time, who knows what later?

And where there are racial tensions involved it makes it even more likely that other weapons will be used.

As a foster-carer (For nearly 13 years)specialising only in looking after teenager's who have gotten themselves in trouble with the law, I have first hand knowledge of how these things can escalate to the use of extreme violence, and my advice is:

Now is the time to play it cool, look out for yourselves, and avoid retaliating at all costs. Having a couple of malcontents taking the piss out of you for walking away or avoiding them is a small price to pay for staying out of either jail or a funeral home over the feastive season.

If you thought it would be right and just to retaliate, you wouldn't have asked for your mates on this board for their opinions, would you?

So you already know that it would be wrong!

You could just ignore me if you like, as an old-fart who doesn't understand (I am 38 on Jan 1st), but I can assure you I do understand, and this is my opinion and advice.

Be safe my friend!

Neil

thnx for the advice Neil, appreciated

i know retaliating wont solve much.... but the one reason i am having 2nd thoughts on retaliating... is because i think the people live around my neighbourhood

the only reason they came to fight me, was because i was alone with 2 girls
they knew i couldnt do much

No problems Curtis

Just think before you dink! :)

Okay people, I'm out of here. See you all in a couple of weeks (hopefully fully rejuvenated and ready to go). Have a great christmas and new year!

Looks like I'll be getting a new PS2 to replace the one that got butchered some weeks ago. Not that any of you probably remember me... lol Anyway, I'm moving to a place nearby and there is supposed to be DSL there. Which means, not only will I be online more, online racing will be that much easier for me!

I hope to be chasing some tails within the next few months. It'll be good to be back. :)

Hey Flat-O, and err and all the other English and French chaps. How is the weather doing? Looks pretty bad on our news. Are you guys having trouble getting around? Although, I guess if you're snowed in, that leaves more time for WRS!

You're more then free to ship it all down here, it's going to be pushing 40 degrees tomorrow, so it will melt nice and quickly. I can never imagine it being that cold, I think the coldest day I've ever had was about 8 or 9C. Last time I saw snow was....1994, seriously!

Actually I'm living on the french Mediterranean coast, halfway between Marseilles and St-Tropez, and as far as the weather is concerned, what you see on TV doesn't show accurately what's going on where I live.
The coldest months are january and february, with an average temperature of 9°C in the day. The last time I saw snow here was in 1986.
Last sunday for the Christmas meal we took the drink and appetizer in the garden, as we do every year.

But it's true that we had a temperature drop yesterday : it's past midnight and the outside thermometer reads 2.7°C.
Northern Europe countries certainly have much more trouble than I have.

Flash Flood warning here, its worth it because we have the absolute very best wine here :sly: And I remember ya Wolf! Welcome back and GL!

Flash Floods....Blizzards....Tornados (Probably somewhere). Crazy weather. Today we're going to have the hottest december day in a squillion years or something. At 43C! That's shade temperature too, so needless to say, it's going to be ******* hot today. Work has been moved forward to 7am to beat the heat :yuck:. What's more, is that there is a Total Fire Ban for the whole state, so the New Years Eve fire works might not go ahead 👎.

Here's to a new year

Living in Wisconsin we get the worst of both seasons, 100F in summer and -10 or more in winter, and I would take the hot weather any day.

Well I'm not sure how the heat feels up anywhere else, but down here in Louisiana, the heat is only half the problem... Humidity is what kills down here. :irked:

Hot is one thing, but constantly being hot and muggy is another. :yuck:

On that note though, lately it has been really nice, a little cold, but nice none the less. 👍

I must admit though, the humidity doesn't even let us live at ease during the winter.
Just like the heat, when it is cold down here we feel it down to the bone and through the clothing.

It's almost as if regardless of the temperature, you always feel like you've just finished with a shower (by nature or the kind to clean you).

In either case, hot or cold, the humidity hits you and leaves you wishing for a less humid climate. :P

Then again, up where Iceman is at, the wheather is harsh enough to break rocks.
(that's no joke either)

Atleast your climate is the reason for road problems.

Down here the only climate to affect the roads is the political climate!

Bad roads because of bad weather = understandable

Bad roads because of political corruption = Louisiana

:P

Of course our weather is probably what makes us Wisconsin boys pretty good at GT. :)

What else is there to do when the temp never gets above 0°F for 3 weeks? Chuck logs into the furnace and fire up another race on the PS2!

Of course a lot of people up here drive their trucks onto a frozen lake, drill a little hole through 2+ feet of ice, and wait....................drinking beer....................in the cold....................all day long.................for the most exciting event of the day. You might catch a few little 8" fish. :dopey:

No thanks! I'll go to the market for my fillet, and take my beer by the fire if you please. 👍

I must say I prefer fishing in the summer over ice fishing. Although, after a few beers out on the ice most of those guys aren't feeling a thing anyways

Dumb ass queston coming.

Why does only the top of the the lake freeze, while some of the water underneath doesn't? I always thought that the deeper you go the colder it is because there is less light. It doesn't make any sense! Surely the whole thing should just freeze.

Not sure if this is exactly correct but the surface water is the fist to be exposed to colder temperatures, and thus freezes before the water below. The water on top will first be exposed to colder temperatures because air loses its heat much faster than water (which is why the water temp can be much higher than the air temp). Since ice floats, it naturally stays on top of the water. This layer of ice actually acts as an insulating layer, preventing the rest of the water from freezing quickly beneath it.

Not dumb at all.

Several reasons really. First, is just the sheer volume of water in a lake of 300 acres with an average depth of 30ft. There is a lot of heat stored in that volume of water from the summer. It takes time to create ice, and the water column is made up of different temperature layers. So when it gets cold, only the surface water is exposed to the cold air, which is what freezes first. Up here when it stays at zero F or below all the time, ice forms at the rate of about 1" per day. Then, the snow cover insulates and actually slightly warms the ice, which inhibits ice formation. Finally, there is residual heat from the earth itself which lends some warming to the water column. Our average mean temp is about 45 degrees, so the earth is about that temp once you dig down 6-8 ft. Given enough time and enough cold though, the whole water column would freeze.

But the day that happens, I'll be long gone way far south 'cause that will be the start of a new ice age!

@iceman. I do like trout fishing in the summer. 👍 I just find that the older I get, the less tolerance I have for our winters. GET OUT WHILE YOU'RE YOUNG!!

Edit: Whoops. Didn't see your post iceman. I'm a slow poster.

...because air loses its heat much faster than water (which is why the water temp can be much higher than the air temp).

I don't want to repeat what MinorShunt said, which is correct, but just to point out the fact that the conduction (heat transfer by direct contact) is 14 times greater for water than for air.
That's the reason why your exposed skin can bear a cold air temperature, let's say 5°C much better than it would do in water at the same temperature of 5°C.
