lets see what we get for this week...

I just do other things, and before i know it, the results are up, though i did find waiting for BC results quite nail biting indeed.

seems like days, but really only hours :lol:

for me its about having nothing to do at work exaclty every tuesday around this time... but iĀ“m 23, so iĀ“m old for this.... its just a joke really... or waste of time, donĀ“t know exactly...

Good thing I went to bed .. hehe Hope to be able to run this week, but still have to win the Euro Champ, so may take this week to further GT4 % again. Slowly been working it along.

Hey there everyone , Im new to the WRS and thought I would just introduce myself , I qualified in the Division one and look forward to some good racing!

I find that driving earlier in the evening and then playing PC games much later at night tends to fit in with my time schedule somewhat easier :P

I haven't been running in the WRS as much since I started the AMC ... that's over this week, but I probably won't have time to run at the ring, considering it's still the last week and I like to try my hand at the NRS as well šŸ‘

My Civ interest is that I just invested in the game a few days ago (as I have with all of the titles in the series) and it has several online modes ... I'd rather play with people I 'know' and if there were a few known faces around here who also played, it would be kind of interesting to lock horns in a PBEM or something occassionally.

ever catch yourself doing something completely silly?
like today when i was running the aston around the ring, i caught myself leaning into turn 1... more than once. :crazy:

I know I'm doing that too. But mainly when I'm entering too fast into a corner, as if it could help the car to turn better.
...it usually ends right into the sand/wall/grass.

I don't do it when I'm using the DFP. But when I'm on the DS2 sitting on the couch with my feet on the coffee table, I've noticed that I lean my feet in the direction of the turn. It's like I'm luge-ing. (I didn't know how to add the ing to it :dunce: ).

I find myself leaning from time to time, however, it's the extra pressure I put on my controller that suprises me the most. :lol:

Sometimes I will put a serious hurting on the controller as if the extra pressure will help get those wheels turning faster or harder. :dunce:

Also, with regards to the luge...
I've learned over time that a great trick to dealing with something like adding the "ing" to "luge" is to just avoid it completely. šŸ‘

As in... "It's like I'm doing a luge" or "doing the luge" or "racing a luge" or whatever ;)
(I'm an english major so I can't help it :lol: ).

Anyway,
Later. :D

I have another technique : I go to http://www.googlefight.com/ and type in both options I'm hesitating between.
In this case :
lugeing = 502 results
luging = 28,500 results.

In the end you're not certain that "luging" is the correct spelling, but if it's wrong, at least, only a few people will notice your mistake. :D

I believe it's actually in what context you're using the actual word:

You use luge whenever you want to:

* Describe the actual sled itself, as in: "I bought a luge last night off of ebay!"
* Describe the event of actually racing a luge against other riders or a clock, as in: "Did you happen to catch the luge events from the Winter Olympics by chance?

You use luging when you want to describe the actual riding of a luge, as in: "I went luging last night for the first time and could not believe how much fun it is in the nude!" (:D)

They are (both) actual words

* luge
and
* luging

And you call yourself an English Major? (Just Kidding! :D)

generally speaking the english grammar rule for words like "luge" and adding an "ing" is to drop the 'e' and add ing.
most words that end in a vowel follow this paradigm.

Yeah, but the way to add "-age" or "-able" to a noun follow the exact opposite rule.
From 'to pile' you make 'piling', from 'to file' you make 'filing', so is has to be 'luging' from the verb 'to luge'.
From 'a mile' you make 'mileage', from 'a tile' you make 'tileable'.
Pretty confusing when it concerns a word you don't use very often.
We have the same situation in french, where some unusual forms look strange even when you know they're correct.

I love grammar :sly:

english is pretty rediculous though... considering its just a bunch of cobbled together french and latin with a dash of italian for flavor.

Do you expect french to be something else that altered latin with loads of words of german or english origin ?
In fact, all our grammar problems are due to the complex latin grammar. :grumpy:
