Revolution Studios :: Merc SL65 Part Two!

@rohl-fan: Those are the exact wheels he has on his car, everyhting is the same, the bolt pattern, the 4 bolts between each spoke, double 5 spoke wheels. They are exactly the same.

PERFECT BALANCE

Thanks for everyone's comments on both the Ring Taxi and the Z4 updates. And now, to business.
I've been offline for two weeks, but now I can bring you an update I've had cooking for a while, a ruby red 350Z at Motegi and then Sagano. Enjoy.

your pictures are unbelieveable! they are so realistic my jaw hit the ground and im having a hard time getting it back up. the colors are so beautiful and the reflections are so realistic! oh and that lense flare is an awesome addition. please stop by my gallery if u have time :)

Nice the Motegi ones are very smooth.
The Sagano ones would be better wothout the glare in my opinion, but they are still great.

Wow. Clean work. I love the sagano pics, but I'm not likin' the Motegi pics, especially the second one. It looks extremely blury...

The first shot is so beautiful
I can tell you spend quite an effort to clean up
Good work Revo

Wow, alot of mixed feelings about this update, lots liking the Sagano pics but not feeling the soft Motegi pics, and some who like the smoothness but hate the lens flares! Art is subjective :P

JFM92_GTRacer - Thanks, I use Paint Shop Pro 9.
franz - Thanks, you're right, I spent an awful long time smoothing and cleaning :)

EDIT: Actually, whilst I'm here, I'll give you all a teaser of what might be my next update.

I absolutely love the Aston Martin shots. Wonderful work on the blur around the corner. What tools did you use to do this? Strong smudge? Anyway, wonderful work, and if you find the time, perhaps you could peruse my (albeit very small) gallery. I look forward to seeing what you come up with in the future.

Hey! Now, dammit Rev, you really screwed up. Those Moteg Z shots are horrible. The first on e is extra weird because you can't tell what the car is doing. The background is nice, but you can't see the track in the foreground, nor can you see any tire smoke from the drift. All I see are two wheels just a' spinnin' away, seeminly not going in any direction. The car looks like it's going around a right turn, which it is, but it looks like it's turning left. And the reflections on the side make the car look slap-sided like a shiny, red UPS truck. The reflection itself is really pale, doesn't stand out, and is just ugly in general. It makes the car look really tall and skinny.
The second picture is definitely better, but still not what I usually expect from you. It is once again beseetched with under saturated colors and dull reflections. But at least I can tell which way the car is going.
You did say art is objective, and I agree, which is what inclined me to be very blunt with my opinion.
I hate still pictures. But these are just awesome. The super bright reflections, the shiny chrome wheels, the bright sun (I know it's a lens flare, you can't fool me), and the parial angle just make it look really cool. It looks like you have a little diffuse glow or gaussian blur to make the wheels pop alittle more, too. It looks good.
That pretty much sums up the second pic, which I think is the better of two. The car looks low and wide, too, like it should.
Half way good job on tis one. Hope business is better next time.

wow  that charger shot is very nice! the car is very clean and the bodyroll gives the picture a sense of intensity, kinda hard to explain :banghead: i cant wait till ur next update :D please stop by my humble little gallery if you have time :)

Nurbfanatic - The corner blur is done using a twirl blur, which is a variation of the popular spin and zoom blur filters. Its a little complex and time-consuming to do, but, as you can see, the results are stunning :D
Vonie, painkiller and FaLLeNAn9eL - Glad you guys like the Charger. I'mm make sure to upload that one soon!
keef - Thanks for your honesty. I knew the Motegi shots were a step away from my usual work, and a little soft, and I knew that not everybody would love them, but I did spend quite a while blurring and smoothing and softening them and I figured it was a waste of time if I didn't post'em. Anyhow, I am glad you like the Sagano shots.

Righto, here is my entry for the GT4 Artistic Photo comp, using my famous dark blue Vanquish as seen at Trial Mountain. I really pumped up the levels for the right mix of colours, hues and the right balance between light and dark but this killed the quality. So, I rebrushed most of the car. The difficult to do parts were guassian blurred, and the headlights completely redrawn. Enjoy, feedback welcome.

I hate your pics!
I look at them and realise i'll never be that good and never will be able to make photos like these.
The Vanquish is just perfect.

Great pic man! Whatever you did, you have made the car super-smooth - It almost looks tooned! 👍 Great stuff, keep 'em coming! :dopey:
