WRS'ers and their ride...

Hypothetically. Lets say that some guy, let's call him Greg, reversed out of his driveway yesterday and into the back of a moving car. (Greg's not the sharpest tool in the shed). Hypothetically, Greg took quite a descent amount of paint of the back of his car, to the point you can see the bear metal.

So anyway, Hypothetically of course, where would Greg be able to find paint to match his car. Let's say his car is a Purple SEAT Cordoba, hypothetically. And he justed moved to Australia.

Would Greg have to ring up Spain? Hypothetically? Or Something?

[/hypothetical]

Turbo V8 engines are pretty hard to master for young drivers named Grad... Er, Greg. I can see 2 options :
  1. your friend should go to the nearest VW dealer and ask the guy the question
  2. your friend should buy enough GT Planet stickers to cover the damaged area.
Hypothetically.

Or maybe he should just park on the street for a while, and then practice reversing in an empty car park.:sly:

Neil

Hypothetically speaking your friend could just admit that V8 power is too much for someone of his/her driving ability and stick to small low powered hatchbacks......or DFP's :D

Well my friend really wanted this one.

With a 2.8L VW VR6 engine. Unfortunately it was out of his price range. And in the next state.

Hypothetically. People should look out for V8 Turbo hatchbacks, and move out of the way, especially when they see probationary plates :sly:

Your, 'friend' should get his head cheacked.......That thing'll torque steer all over the place. :)

It would be fun though. 👍

See that happened tonight too. When Greg went for a drive because the power went out, then a cat ran out and Greg swerved and ran off the road for about 50m, snapped a tree, and plank of wood in half and went airborne. Amazingly, Greg's car only suffered a tiny dent to the number plate...

Greg will go get picture of the scene tomorrow and send them to me....

EDIT: Oh yeah. Greg wishes his car had ABS too....

i attach a picture of my ride (bmp) after a wheel to wheel 'discussion' with the local police (thumbnail) while on holidays.

and - malibu my arse - i was in maranello to do my normal test drive job for luca. the stupid police driver in his wish-i-had-a-ferrari was challenging me and he drove me into a car that broke down just besides the modena road.

Brad.....this Greg guy.....does this guy spend too much time playing computer games or something?

From what I recall, he's not been driving very long and it seems to me that he doesn't have a very good grasp of how real cars actually handle.

;) :D

P.S. Or maybe it's the bloody great V8 engine.....

Yeah. Its makes it amazingly front heavy, he gets understeer in the dry at about 10km/h. The shoddy no-name tyres probably don't help either. Greg is seriously considering getting a good get of bridgestones....

I like the bolt on wing Ren-Tec, looks nice on a coupe 👍

:dopey: Thanks MisterWeary i get ripped for it all the time by people who think it is stupid

Ren-tec, what engine's in that thing? What year is it?

ROB 256R, that is a HOT civic! Very well built. As to be expected from someone who can actually drive... :) Did you include a mods list earlier that I missed?

Thanks man. I did have a list but it was old so i deleted it. I've updated my last post with the current list of goodies.

Audi B7 S4, straight stock (for now).
Well, stock is not too shabby of a starting point, if I must say so myself... :sly:

And Rob, really really clean! Argh. Must be a heck of a hoot to drive. Anyway, are you going to paint the side skirts?

Well, I haven't checked up on this thread in a while, but it's come a long ways. As for the my car, it's still coming along, with more to come! Since this post, things have changed. I now have a Gemini Composites reverse cowl carbon fibre hood, TOPE 24-way adjustable coilovers (first in the world), Hiboost intercooled turbo kit (powered by an IHI turbo) which will be installed within weeks, 2003.5 MAZDASPEED Protege rear spoiler, Mental Addiction Motorsports polished aluminum gauge rings, 2.4 inch Corksport catback exhaust, AWR adjustable front end links, and AWR front and rear urethane motor mounts. Future plans are still the same for the car, with a Buddyclub 2 kit coming early in the spring, along with new paint! Now how about some current pics of the car! A new photoshoot will be coming soon, gotta play with the new camera, and I will also the feature car in an upcoming website!

Very nice Mazda. I usually don't like black bonnets, but yours looks pretty good with the matching black wheels 👍

On a personal note, I found another use for the V8 Turbo today
dsc00237pj3.jpg

Now my works official trash truck. We have a trailer full of trash, but no one has a tow bar....So we have to just load into, and on my boot, roof and whatever else will hold a couple of kilos of ****.

Nice Mazda Falango, looks really good in that rainy shot. 👍

I 'refuse' to make any comment on the new use for the V8 Cas? ;)

Darren.

Went to the drags last night in my first car... The 1968 142. Stripped it to the bone, even got anal with some of the stuff I took out. Probably weighed around 2450-2475lbs with me and the amount of gas I had in it. Sadly I didn't have much for rubber on the ground other than almost balding 185/70-14s that were of the most bargain basement brand/model tires to begin with... No, I didn't purchase them, it's just what I had at the time to roll the car around with. Now it's time to part/sell the car. Don't have room for it anymore after I move out(to who knows where yet!)...

R/T: .180
60': 2.490
1/8: 10.990
1/8mph: 63.10
1/4: 17.325
1/4mph: 76.68

Could've managed a 17.1 if I wasn't having so much fun burning the tires off the line. Best 60ft was a 2.380, best R/T was a PERFECT .000! I had a great time beating the piss out of the car. I'm very suprised that it held up for 12 runs! Last time it was at the track(2 years ago) I ran a 18.84 before I snapped first gear in the tranny on the third run. Time before that, with the carb cutting out while accelerating in second gear(4 years ago), was a 20.8 followed by a 20.9. That cutting out sure pissed me off! Anyway, I was suprised by what it managed this time, and for the fact that it held up!

Nice work Kyle 👍

I just got new rubber for my baby, she sticks like glue now :sly:
