GT4 WRS Week 81: "Nitrous family fun at Fuji"

I've never touched NOS before... Any suggested position on the DS2?? :odd: I am playing w/manual trans, and joysticks... Putting the NOS on R1.

t1 21.xxx
t2 39.xxx
t3 56.xxx

So that's lap 2? Can you post both laps? Just wondering, since it's not that important.

Yeah I've got NOS on R1, just different having to change up gears with my middle finger now and NOS with the index :)

My bad... I've been following the WRS for a couple of weeks, and this is my second week competing... I didn't read the fine print... back to the drawing board!! 💡

I have to say doing two full clean laps, full tilt, is challenging! I'm enjoing this one more than when I was doing it wrong!!!

heres a future wrs combo suggestion, 10 laps with a car at a track with no with no walls to eliminate suspect wall touch situations- no ai in the way by doing it in time trial mode- and saving the replay after u do 10 laps. i havent tried this but i think it can work. i was reading shockwaves post about a 10 lapper and came up with this idea. will try this combo later once dfp repaired

Oh yes I must enter this one, the Quattro is one fine automobile. I'm not to crazy about the Nitrous in this race, wish it was without.

V.busy & distracted in RL at the mo, having 1/2 of the ground-floor of the house re-modeled at the minute.
Excuses, excuses... :P

Been awhile since I've been here -- got a new job that has me working 60 to 80 hours per week
YIKES!!! Welcome back Laurence! I wish I was able to manage a little more than half that many hours a week... :( Being the sole employee for someone who doesn't even have to work anymore to make a living makes my hours a bit variable each week... And not really for the better, ever...

Yeah, I had my nitrous on the Down arrow, because of some dragstrip and topspeed runs I made - shifting a lot, but no steering. But for usual running, R1/L1 is best, because shifting with the middle finger is still easy, but shooting nitrous with your index-finger, steering with the thumb, and shifting with the middle finger is a tad to much for me.

In wrong time... In wrong place...

Well I can't say I like this combo very much...((( About the car... As for me, it's hard to say what is worse: it's ugly design or it's awful steering... To say that car don't want to turn - means just to say nothing. It's a little bit better than Jey Leno.

We use NOS this time, but can you imagine a car with it's cost over $150.000 with NOS??? It's not a civic and even not a supra...

And for the tyres... They start to provide grip only somewhere in the middle of the 2nd lap. Probably not the best choise...

Anyway, here is my time:
T1: 0:25:124
T2: 0:44:115
T3: 0:59:895

T1: 0:21:000
T2: 0:39:420
T3: 0:55:673

Here's my first splits after a couple of races. Not upgraded the suspension or differentials yet so it's a lot slower than most...Just getting the feel of things for now.

Lap 1
T1 0'24.967
T2 0'44.255
T3 1'01.893

Lap 2
T1 0'21.538
T2 0'40.783
T3 0'57.475

T2+T2= 1'59.368 I think? :dopey:

I'm liking this weeks combo so far so no whinging from this pom Colby. ;)

Darren.

I'm complitly agree with my brother C-H-A-R-G-E-R! It's the ugliest car in the world and it's nightmare to drive it!
MY TIME:
FIRST LAP:
T1:0.25.134
T2:0.44.201
T3:0.59.910
SECOND LAP:
T1:0.20.910
T2:0.39.302
T3:0.55.534
PS:It's stupit to make 4 sectors on the track like this!!!
GOOD LUCK!!!:)

Hehe :D...
L1
T1:24.700
T2:43.303
T3:59.087
L2
T1:20.866
T2:39.264
T3:55.809
Alright I'll bite, the only reason I'm doing this is because I get $500 every time I finish. (j/k)

Earlier I had an almost deadly run. (well, you know what I mean) On the sweeper right before the left hander, I lost balance and ended up at least 60* from the racing line. I just kept my foot in it, and it turned out to be a great line, and got me a better time than expected(but not better than normal.) I didn't save the replay mainly because the lap was slow and I messed it up on the second lap.:(

Edit:Woah!!!!! I just added my T3 times from both laps together and it's .001 less than shockwave's!!! Not to be arrogant but I really wasn't expecting that... especially since the T3 times themselves aren't better.

How do you work than one out minicooper? Shockwave's T3's are 2.1 seconds faster than the splits you have there, or am i missing something.

Great splits thou bud 👍

Oopsie, for one thing I added wrong, and I was also looking at the L1 T3, instead of the total from shockwave. Carry on, I'm still happy I managed that, because now I'm ahead of Colby. :P

After finally getting used to the car, I decided I had had enough with hotlaps.

24.313

21.666
40.109

T3+T6 = 1'55.394

EDIT: NEW TIMES

I tried this today, here are my times.

Lap 1
T1-26:488
T2-45:944
T3-1:03:290

Lap 2
T1-21:728
T2-40:548
T3-58:023

One thing about these T times are they aren't upto date as I have pulled faster
lap time already. I will keep working on it though.

chipped off half a second of my total time.

24.679 - 44.133 - 1.00.838
21.858 - 41.290 - 0.57.897

to minicooper i want to say: are you very sure you are racing according to the specs? it's great that you race so fast but, considering you are only slower than andrew this week and being div3, one would almost think that you picked the wrong tyres or hp figure. no offense mate! just want to keep you from embarrasment, that's all.

a quick lap guide if it helps

start in 2nd gear, as soon as you change up to 3rd, hit the NOS and keep it on when you change into fourth, brake into the first right hander and drop down to 3rd, dun worry that it is a little low in revs coz it will pull the nose in as you accelerate out of the corner, once you are out of it hit the NOS again and change into 4th. a tap on the brakes, staying in 4th you should go through T1, and end up to the right as you come up to the next corner. this next uphill right is important. brake down to 3rd as you enter, don't full throttle it until you know you can get a clean line up the hill and not understeer off to the left. up into 4th and then brake at the top of the hill for the tight left for T2, changing down to 3rd as you go. now again the revs will be a little low but as soon as you know you can get out of the corner hit the NOS again and keep it on til you have to brake for the slight right hander that takes you into T3. if you do find yourself pushing wide whilst using the NOS, just lift slightly and the nose will tuck in again. as you enter the last corner brake a touch early and try and get the car as close to the apex as you can use the NOS from the apex of the last corner, all the way down the s/f straight. repeat for lap 2. if done right you should run out of NOS right you should run out of NOS right at the end of the 2nd lap...

this is all done using the settings i posted and having AI at -10...

hope that helps, might get behind the wheel later for another crack at this...

I think that's not the great idea to use NOS(in all GT series). Let's leave NOS for cheap(and trash) games like NFS!!!:yuck: GT is the "Real Driving Simulator"!!!

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 Don't worry, NOS won't reappear in future races I GET IT!

*in my best Napolean Dynamite voice* "Gosh!!!!!"

After a few practice runs I got this:
Lap 1
T1: 0'26.763
T2: 0'46.317
T3: 1'04.359

Lap 2
T1: 0'23.205
T2: 0'42.672
T3: 0'59.641

The 3rd corner is evil.

Stop hating on the R8. Its a Gallardo in Audi clothes. Wait a minute... I'm not sure if that's a good thing.

Yeah, that's a good idea. No hard feelings man.:)
The replay shows this:
Audi Le Mans quattro '03
632HP
RSH/RSH Event Race

Is that right? i think I need an Oil change too, unless the replay is that wrong. I think I'm going to check...
...and then do some more races.:)
I think the WRS has made me 10 times better than when I started out, and I'm still not all the way through the learning curve yet.:mischievous:

L1
T1:24.378
T2:42.728
T3:58.991
L2
T1:21.018
T2:39.527
T3:55.377
I don't have a clue how I managed this, so don't ask.
I need to put out a consistent lap. Some times are much better but it cancels out within the next two sectors.

Another thing, if you have a DFP, I suggest you start in first with 75-80% throttle, then floor it. When you shift to 2nd hit the NOS.
Also, I think there is a pre-determined lineup, because if I go back to do something, and come to it and have the same difficulty, I get the same lineup, in the same order, just different colors:
Pagani Zonda
NSX concept(or something)
SLR
VW Nardo
ZZII
AUDI Le Mans
IT's very strange, and I can't figure out why they do it this way for this race, yet predetermined races(that add to your percentage)are completely random. I was once up against a 206 and Barchetta, as well as a Nizmo Z while racing in some race in my NSX. It's all very confusing.

Ok here is what iv got so far.

Lap1
T1: 24.614
T2: 43.062
T3: 59.070

Lap2
T1: 22.016
T2: 40.201
T3: 56.048

Horrible T1,s, lost at least a second there to my best. Lots more time to come off yet i think, with any luck :)
