Were now at the 6th Round of the season. The 1st of the 2 back-to-back race in North America

Hmmmm.....another battle between McLaren and Ferrari?Who will prevail?Or BMW Sauber will make an upset?Who knows.....But i think Lewis Hamilton could win his 1st race here (maybe)
 
I think BMW are going to be great here they are good on low downforce circuts, also If I remember correctly JV crashed before the end and he was in the points I think... so I'm hoping for atleast 5th and 6th and if somethign goes wrong at the front their first podium this season.

Massa first? That's if Ferrari comes up with a better engine for this race, able to fight McLaren's new one (which they already used in Monaco, or that's what De La Rosa said at the spanish TV). And considering they both have to use the same engine than the last race... that's most unlikely to happen.

My prediction:

4rd: Massa
5th: Heidfeld
6th: Fisichella
7th: Kubica
8th: Sutil (I would SO love to see him scoring a point)

Ferrari have a new front and rear wing for the race, I'm certain Monaco was a one off due to Ferrari's longer wheel base so yep I'm betting on a Ferrari comeback with Massa heading it.
 
Kimi has won here before, and he’ll be pretty determined to beat Massa and get himself back into the championship fight, so I have a feeling he’ll be able to turn things around a little. Massa is driving really quickly these days and will probably be challenging for the win or make a mistake.

Alonso won here last season, but prior to that he was never particularly strong. It will be interesting to see what he’ll be able to do. McLaren probably won’t have such a strong car in the next two races, so I expect Alonso and Hamilton to be fighting for second place.

BMW had a car, last year, that was particularly strong in low-downforce configuration. This year they have a much more well-rounded car, but I think they’ll still have an edge in circuits like this. Doesn’t matter, though. They’ve got no competition behind them, and generally aren’t close enough t the front-runners unless there’s a mistake.

Some surprising times in that practice sheet but it's far too early to judice the drivers.

I'm looking forward to see how Toyota will perform, together with BMW (although they did waaaaay better), Toyota's not too keen on high-downforce tracks either. An excellent opportunity for Schumacher to proove to Toyota he's there to stay, while I'm still doubting whether he'll even qualify in the top 16...

I do except big things from Red Bull, if they won't have another engine failure, they should have a good go against the Renault's 👍
 
I have to ask, what's the point of those those ads of the Ferrari below all the aero pieces (Acer, Brembo, etc.)? Who's going to see that?
 
To do that wouldn't be worth it surely? The excessive weight from having the design to cool the brakes like that would be more weight?
 
The new wheel looks different. Will it still suck in air while rotating to cool the brakes?

I don't think so, I can't spot any direction change or bends in the parts, something which is needed to suck the air in I think. About weight, that wouldn't make a difference. These things are probably just plastic, plastic weighs nothing...

Just some little crappy things like they had on the rear rims at the start of the season...
 
I just started watching Speed Channel's coverage of the practice session, and saw the VERY close call between Schumacher's Toyota and a x-ing Marmet just before what looked like turn 3.

That was one VERY lucky rodent!

Now Jacques Villeneuve will have to find something else to serve at his restaurant for tonight's special... to go along with his glass of sour grapes... ;)

And for that matter what the Ferrari crewman is thinking... notice how he isn't facing Hamilton... but his eyes are directly focused on him... and he isn't exactly smiling... :D
 
Looks like McLaren are a serious force now - they were ahead by a nice margin on all three sessions...

Oh, and just what is Sato doing in 5th? 10th-10th-5th is pretty decent...
 
Not sure... but how about that rookie!

Hamilton posted an early 1:15.486 Q2 time, a full second faster than Kimi. 👍


UPDATE: Kimi barely makes it to Q3 by just .152 seconds... if he doesn't improve, I'm going to side with those that feel he just isn't a motivated driver. You compare his work ethic and passion for the sport to other drivers and he just seems like he is running on cruise control rather than pushing himself and his team to be the best.
