When thinking of what car to build next, I figured why not a Honda NSX. Its often referred to as Japan's supercar. In my initial test drive in stock tune I thought, "this is a nice car, but not quite at supercar levels". I then set out to rectify that. Despite it's high power and low weight, this car is fairly easy to drive.

I tried removing it and didn't notice a whole lot of difference, I'll try it again though.

*EDIT* - I ran back to back laps with and without the LSD, and I made faster laps with LSD installed. Taking it off imporved corner exit slightly but (for me) it hurt in entry and middle of corners. It also seemed to make the car slide around more without it. I'll mark it as optional on the setup sheet and leave it up to the individual driver whether to put it on or not.

I liked the car for its stability, but it was a bit too understeery for my taste. It is definetly fast, but it takes time to find out how to drive it fast.

1. Your right, the brakes aren't as good as I'd like them. I originally had them stronger but in a fairly lightweight car like this they just kept locking up on me and ended up increasing my braking distances. It helps to brake a little early with this car.

2. I tried a softer suspension in it, also. But like you said it hurt stability and made the car less responsive.

Your criticizm is well taken though.

The Cobra R is a rare car indeed, only 300 built in 2000. It was Ford’s factory race car. One of my most favorite street cars in this game.

I used this car in a recent spot race at the Nurburgring, in which I maxed out the power and added a wing for speed, plus other tweaks to suspension, trans, and brakes. I thought it drove a bit better so I am updating this with those settings, sans the downforce and racing exhaust that make it sound like a vtec.

The ’64 Goat started the muscle car era back in ’64, so it was only fitting that I start with this car when posting my classic car setups. The Cougar was introduced as an upscale alternative to the Mustang. The 390 V8 has been totally rebuilt and produces over 540hp. The suspension and brakes have been upgraded to make it handle and stop a lot better than the stock version.

I don't think they're bad at all, enough to make them entertaining. Some throttle modulation is needed in the first 2 gears though.

If you think they're powerful, wait 'til you see the classic Mopars I'm working on.:sly:

I'm going to knockout both car's today

Just to be fair I'm going to run this car in the 1000 mile race. This is my review of this car when the racing is done. I feel the power and straight line performance is good. The trans is good. The car is taily when push hard at braking. If you got on it to soon it would spin out. I feel there could have been more work on the lsd.

overall the car is ok for what it is. Sorry for being so ruff on the car.

I tried to finish my SHO today but couldn't. It'll be atleast another day.

What track did you test the Cougar at? I mainly tuned it at Deep Forest. It does take some skill to drive but once you get to know the car it can be pretty quick. Difference in driving styles can be the case too. In any case, thanks for the review. 👍 I look forward to reviewing yours.

I messed with the lsd a little bit, raising the settings provided more traction but it understeered too much for my taste.

My Cougar's suspension is a bit stiff for the 'ring. I reccomend trying it out at a track like Deep Forest or Trial Mountain if you want to try it again.

It needs double the current spring rates, possibly treble.

Oh, and Shoman: Not a problem of yours, but of the car's. The Cougar eats tires.

Spring rates are fine for the 'ring. (for me anyway) I'd just soften up the shocks and maybe raise the ride height. Each driver has different preferences though.
 
I just don't think this car's for me. the tune was good on those tracks,but It didn't fit my driving style. Or I'm having a bad driving day?

Anyhow, 4.2 kg/mm is 235.2 lbs/in, which means that the suspension will compress an inch for every 235 lbs applied. Ride height is equal to 4.33".

Not enough travel.

Mayhaps I'll build one and see what I come up with.

Did you even test the car before you critiqued it or what? If not, I suggest you build one and try it out before you criticize it please.
 
No, I did not, but I can look and see that it's far too soft.

I was simply explaining why I think the car is too soft, not criticizing the way the car drives.

I'd also recommend doing a bit of diff work and redoing the shocks and camber.
