How legal are aftermarket HID's in the UK? I thought the EU had stricter laws regarding headlamps?

Not very legal I dont think. I took my car in for an MOT yesterday and had to take them out. They say its because your 'impersonating' a police car with the blue lights and can fine you £60. Apart from that as long as their aligned properly they should be fine.

It depends if there blue or just a very bright white. The new Audi and Mercedes seem to come with blinding white lights which are quite annoying if your on the receiving end.

It's actually part of the Vehicles (Construction and Use) regulations. You're not permitted to display any other light colour than white or orange to the front, or white, red or orange to the back or the sides. If the standard-fit headlights have a faint blue tinge then it's acceptable, but aftermarket ones are not.

You're also not allowed to have them flashing - though you can fit strobing kits and you can pass an MoT with the kit fitted, you absolutely must not operate them on public roads or publicly-accessible places (supermarket car parks - where the Road Traffic Act still applies, contrary to popular belief).

The former is merely a vehicle defect, usually sorted by a repair order, or 3pt/£60 fine. The latter is impersonating a police officer, which can carry a custodial sentence.

I thought the Holy Rollers came in 20'' do they weigh alot? The K-Rads were probably smoother because the square tread pattern was right in the centre of the tyres.

Well apparently they come in both 20" and 26". Which I'm glad they do, otherwise my bike might look a bit odd having a gnarly mountain tread in the rear and some smooth tire in the front. So I'm quite glad that they did.

They must think you are the best son-in-law ever! :D

My folks are looking for a new set also, don't think they'll be getting the same treatment though (even though they are worth it).

Well I did not buy these two games but I got them from my cousin.

The games themselves are so old that you need the dosbox emulator to run them! I'm keeping these for sure!👍

Nicely done, D-N! To be perfectly honest, I don't even like my in-laws coming over for supper as they have usually annoyed me to no end by the time they leave. Complaining about the food for one reason or another, chewing out my kids for being kids, etc. Fortunately, my wife feels the same way. This summer, everyone was out on the deck eating and I was in the kitchen getting drinks. My wife came in to help me and locked the door so they couldn't come in until she realized our boys were out there, too.

Multi-thousand dollar gifts just aren't going to happen, especially since they can't manage their own money, are always commenting about not having enough for rent (SERIOUSLY?!?) and still go on more trips per year than I can count. I'll stick with my motto as it's worked well for me so far - don't spend what you don't have.

And in an effort to stay on topic, my latest purchase was fish food. Exciting, I know. :D

^ it's to be expected from someone on a games board. Is LA as hard as I've been hearing?

Well, the rubber banding did sound frustrating but the proof is in the pudding as they say :dashes to 360:

Got me one of these power cables after I found out the nearest power cable inside the case was not long enough for the new graphics card.

man i so wanted to see them but the tickets sold out within a few hours at the nearest venue. fans who signed up for it back in june before it went to print got their name in as a kind of thankyou i guess

Unfortunately I can only provide a placeholder pic atm since I can't find any fresh batteries in the house but here is an example of my latest purchase.

A set of BBS RS replicas (I'm pretty certain they're fakes, can't see any sign of BBS stamp on it), 4x114.3, 16x7, 24 offset, only 3 centre caps and some curb rash on one wheel. But otherwise pretty good.

Edit: Disregard previous writings. They are real. I found the BBS stamp. Happy happy. :)

In response to getting the new Q9550 Quad Core processor and the 780i Motherboard, I took this great opportunity to add another 120mm fan to the Coolermaster Hyper 212 to make even more massive. I had to get a different color other than blue making red the next obvious choice.

Right now, with a 25% overclock, I am maintaining high 50's under load and 40C 40C 37C 39C at idle. 65C is safe, with 70C starting to get warm. Might have to get after it again and see what this new mod on the cooler will do, not to mention the 45nm technology.

Along with that, I thought I would give Vista Ultimate one more shot, going 64-bit this time. So far so good. All the hardware works, SLI's compatible, and hopefully I will see 64-bit enable, quad core optimized benefits.

I guess this is more of a heads up for anyone who wants to buy one too, rather than a recent purchase.

I'll be heading out to Radio Shack later today to grab a DS3 for $30.
