Dramatic improvements here. These shots are really nice and it's good to see that you toned down the post processing, they really look so much better. Wicked cars, nice angles, very well done. 👍 the only thing I might comment on is being careful of some of the angles that you take shots from as sometimes there are poles sticking out of some of the cars.

Exactly what he said. but i'm still looking for the classic car shots. There are a few of them scattered trough all the euro junk. Don't you have picutres of the whole cars, like the Challenger or some of the Shelbys? The Galaxie wagon is cool tough. You really lucked out with the light, it was awesome. You could have pulled better results with such in a more traditional way of post production. I'll put together the ones I'd really like to have in big size and asj for them, ok?

Man, some CARS in there. We dont get that kinda "small show" in Mexico. That would be a big time, all-city-is-there event here, and not a Lambo would be in sight. Well, maybe two.

Didn't take a lot today & many weren't that great, but felt these were still post worthy here.

Not really liking the HDR effects you put on some, but the shots themselves are fabulous. May I suggest some for the calender?

Yeah, went a little crazy on these. I had to restrain myself from editing way too many pics, but I feel I didn't show enough pics of the whole cars themselves. So, I'll be throwing those up & nearly all the other pics tonight or tomorrow.

And of course.:)

You may want to get the sensor on your camera cleaned as well, I can see at least three fair sized dust blobs on some of the shots.

Scaff

Very good update, McLaren. 👍 Although you went too crazy on some of these shots, all in all they look great. :)

Righto - here are my favourites (in no real particular order).

ZOMGZ - Fantastic, maybe a bit more contrast, but the less contrast shows that it is far away and a bit hazy, which adds to the scene.

My goodness
acr2.jpg

Not as dramatic as the two before, but I love how it shows you the power gauge...in a Veyron, one of the few cars with a 4 figure power rating. Thats why this shot is win.
veyrontach.jpg

I'd love to see this one in B&W. I think it would give the same thing I was talking about with the top one - and separate the car from the show behind. The car has great stance aswell, and the boot lid is monumental.
fordgtg.jpg

Woah - awesome. 👍
gtr2j.jpg

I chose this one because it has potential. I think with a play of colours (NO HDR!!!) - maybe B&W with some monotone colour of some sort. Its a dramatic shot that shows the aggression of a car at the pinicle of today's styling. I think theres going to be a few candidates for R8s in the calender though, so maybe when narrowing the shots down give it a miss, but play with the colours first I reckon - could come up with something 👍

Love it.

Love this even more - that's seriously awesome - especially the lighting.
gt500e.jpg

If I had to pick five of those to narrow it down, The 1st, 2nd (definatly), the 3rd, the 4th and the last one (definatly) - with my favourites being the ACR and the Button.

Dude, monumental shots 👍.

And of course - listen to yourself before listening to me ;) 👍.

660+ cars at this month's meet. You'll also notice more shots of the cars themselves, and that I really scaled back on the heavy editing. Most of the editing is either a little brightening & bringing out the colors. Still a few moderately edited photos, but not a lot. :)

Hi-Res upon request.

Brilliant shots McLaren 👍 Haven't been in this thread for a while so it's taken me ages to go through them all!

My favourite of the most recent meet is probably this shot:

gspyder.jpg

Without the people in the frame, it'd be perfect. What technique are you using for editing your shots? A lot of them have a very "polaroid" look to them which I quite like. As mentioned by others, the HRD effect is a bit much on some of them but the shots do have a bit more personality than many of the car show ones I take. Of course, sunlight helps there too :sly:

I'm still liking your compositions and details you've captured but the processing is getting a bit much for my eyes! Also, these updates often contain a lot of images that are just snapshot look-a-likes with a lot of processing applied, and I find myself just scrolling past them to get to the more interesting stuff. I actually stopped this page from loading as there are 277 items on this page alone. There are probably some truly amazing photos that are simply getting lost amongst the normal car show images, which is a shame to see IMO.

All I'm doing is usually adding a small amount brightness with a bit of Velvia Film effect to bring out the colors. If it brings out too much, I apply a low amount of CrossProcess through the filter.

It's not really a lot on most shots. It's 3 simple things I always add to get them to look this way. The only photos with a lot of processing are the ones with unnatural colors, the ones you can see that I played around with.

As for the photos, I started taking more pictures of the cars themselves b/c when I post these on other forums, I constantly have people asking for photos of the cars, not just the small details.

But, it doesn't matter. I'm already second guessing as to whether or not, it's worth the effort of editing these anymore....:indiff:
Edit* Just to cover the bases, please note that that isn't directed at you or anyone else on this site, either. I really appreciate all the comments & views I receive from you all. It lets me know what I'm doing right & wrong, and what you guys are looking for in these photos. :)

Next month, I will try something a little different when I post the photos.

I think one solution could be to upload all of the photos to one album and then hotlink the artistic shots and a few car ones, then give a link to the album for anyone who wants to view the full set.

But then it's your gallery so I'll shut up now

I for one actually enjoy the full car shots, as I'm one of those people who gets a little bored of detail shots (though it must be said, you have some cracking detail shots up there). You certainly have a distinct style, whether that's the editing or the photography matters not, but I do enjoy the photos.

Looking forward to see what you come up with next, though.

Here's the next update; this month's C&C, Part 1. I think this is some of my best work so far, so please tell what you guys think so I know where to keep going with the rest. Part 2 & the snapshots will be up soon. Hi-Res available as always. :)

Love the horsepower freaks and 1st 8C shot best. 👍 The others are great too, very nice work on the composition and the DOF is spot on.

Nice 8C shots and the Veyron Interior is lovely, very nice colours.

From your previous update:

cgtdials.jpg

This is full of win. Well composed and the lighting is spot on. Very well done! 👍

Love this new batch of shots. You've managed to retain your unique style but with dropped that HDR-esque processing that felt a little over done in some of your earlier work. I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite from this batch.
