Once more, playing with editing software. Think I've gotten quite a bit better this time. Even found a way to make fake HDR shots. :P

I love the CGT and the F40 shots, colours are very nice. Would the fake-HDR technique involve opening the image up, saving it 3 times at 3 different exposures then merging them?

It's really just going into Backlight & selecting 100% or more to look overboard.
This (+/-)200%.

It's not true HDR, but it just makes the colors look excessive like HDR does if not done right.

Hey Rev, Personally I'm not a huge fan of the over processed look but I do like a few of the shots above. The close up of the viper's wing is pretty cool, the orange Lambo is sweet and so is the NSX from above. I'd be tempted to clone out the car in the corner of the shot. I hope you don't mind but I played around with it a little, it was a pretty rushed job (so it's not a great clone job) but you get the idea:

Nice shots, I think I would agree with Syntax though about some looking a bit too processed which kind of ruins some of them. Regarding the NSX shot, although its a rushed job one tool to improve it could have been to use the heal tool as that could fix the step and repeat that you can see on Syntax's version of it.

It's still not brilliant, but by using a mixture of the clone tool, heal tool, and a bit of the spot healing tool it means you can get a much more realistic look to it.

Large update. Once again, all edited, but they had to be this time around. The sun (which is my fault) & constant people moving played hell with the camera, so many photos caught a lot of blur or nasty sun glare. I will throw all those up soon, though, & perhaps edit a couple more of the Domestics for this thread. :)

There is a lot of use with the Vignetting tool. I did not want to over do it, so many photos are plain, but I did need it to try & cut out many of the folks surrounding the cars. The colors of their shirts & such didn't co-op well with the editing.

On to the photos, around 30 if I remember. :)

What I consider my best yet. IMO, I feel I got the right angle & was able to get edit in the right lighting to get these colors. Very proud of this pic. :)

Very nice. Not sure about the cross processed look on the last pic as i tend to associate cross processing with more vintage stuff.

But excellent pics overall. Too bad you didnt pull up the TL-S beside the veyron for a pic:lol:

That's what it's actually for. :P

There were so many people around that thing, I'd have to mow 'em to get even 6 feet.

I like the last one actually. I'd be tempted to blink out the people in the window, maybe ps some nice scenery into it.

Most of the shots are quite good especially considering the problems you faced with crowd and light.

Small update; these were taken at our Monday Night Meet, and yes, these were pretty much the best of the best. Shooting at dusk with terrible lighting & everyone's shadows was nasty.

Oh My God! A Pantera

I always did love that car for some reason. I still want to get my hands on one.

Hm. Some of the processing in your photos is very heavy handed, try to tone it down a little to avoid halos around the edges.

I have to say as well that the pseudo-HDR doesn’t really work for me either however I do like the retro colour settings and vignetting in your shots. The rear shot of the Ford GT as well as the side on GTR are probably my pick of the lot.

I know, & I apologize for that. It was the only way to hide the nasty grain & poor lighting. My next time out there, I will have to put more patience into the shots.

Shots from the Dallas World Aquarium. Trying to get away from the heavy editing, so some shots aren't much more than simple level & contrast. Glass on many exhibits was full of finger prints, so I'm really considering a trip back when school is in session & no one is there.

Some great photos in this thread and kudos for some impressive aquarium pictures - it's a real nuisance sometimes getting shots through glass, let alone through glass and water. My cam phone takes better pics in aquariums than I can achieve with my D40...

Great shots for the tricky environment, if you have one a polarising filter can help cut down on some of the reflections in situations like that, but they are very tricky to use with quick moving subjects like fish.

Makes me want to go to Dallas now just to have a look at that place.

Scaff

Nice set. I really like some of those shots. Some of the fish shots don’t seem sharp enough but I appreciate the environment you had to work in. 👍

The 3rd set of Dallas' own Cars & Coffee. Went ahead & just edited to the point that I liked them as they were. Tried to really go after some of the classics to please some folks *cough*Cano*cough*. :sly:

Really no other words except Hi-Res available for once. :)

There are some great shots here - but I can only comment on the car shots, as that's only what I've done so far myself.

First off, the first shot of the latest set is awesome - I think it's great.

Moreover, the black and white shot of the LP640 being tracked is excellent. Really good composition, and it really looks the the lambo is launching.

I also love the ACR Viper shots on the last page, as well as the first badge shot of that blue LP640 being showcased.

I regret to say that I can't comment on any more because I think my internet went back to dial-up on the last page, but I seem to remember the set with the Veyron and 16M was great too.

Keep it up 👍

Dramatic improvements here. These shots are really nice and it's good to see that you toned down the post processing, they really look so much better. Wicked cars, nice angles, very well done. 👍 the only thing I might comment on is being careful of some of the angles that you take shots from as sometimes there are poles sticking out of some of the cars.
