Chapter 12 - The Yukamobile Returns
Dave pulled up at TJ’s garage.
“TJ!”
“Dave, you’re back already? You finished work two hours ago, you don’t need to be here for another twelve hours yet.”
“Who do you know that owns a modified blue sedan?”
“A modified blue sedan? That’s the sort of thing my mother would say. I thought you knew your cars, man.”
“It shot past me at god knows what speed!”
“How fast were you going?”
”170-ish.”
“Could be anything then. Probably some BMW driver. Why are you so shaken up about it?”
“I didn’t even see it coming…”
“Surely you saw the back of it?”
”Disappeared as fast as it appeared.”
“A ghost?”
”TJ.”
”Haha I’m sorry man. It’s nothing to get worked up about, go get some rest.”
”Alright…”
Dave walked back to the Vitz and drove home.
“Modified blue sedan… Hahaha. I know of only one modified blue sedan that could be hammering it down route 7 and it sure as hell aint no BMW.”
Later on…
Kei was laying down on the sofa, bored of waiting for Yuka to return.
“Come on Yuka… I’m starving!”
A car pulled up outside. Kei couldn’t recognise the sound. She went out to the window and peered outside.
“No way…”
Kei rushed outside.
“Yuka! You’re back!”
“Hey Kei, sorry I’m late.”
“Is that…?”
“Yep.”
“It looks so aggressive now.”
“Matches the performance.”
“Does this mean the old Yuka is back?”
”Oh hell yes it does!”

They entered the apartment, Yuka looked back at the Civic.
“Welcome home, Civic.”
The next day…
Yuka pulled up to the entry gates at the Suzuka circuit.
“Welcome to Suzuka, do you have your entry form Miss?”
“Yeah, here it is.”
“You’re entering the feature race, in this car?”
“Yup.”
”I wish you the best of luck. Have a safe race.”
Yuka shook her head and headed over to the pit lane.
“The nerve of that guy. You’d think a guy who works at a race track would learn to respect all types of car.”
Yuka pulled in to an empty parking space behind the pits. A group of cars had already started leaving the pit lane.
“Guess I’m watching the newbies first.”
Yuka eyed up the group. She spotted a familiar red car.
“Is that…? Wow, it is. It’s Dave’s Vitz. I wonder if he’ll win, he only came second to me last time.”
The cars came around the final bend for a flying start.
”Looks like they’re about to begin.”

Yuka took a closer look at the cars whilst they passed by.
“Ugh, an Eclipse. At least it’s not over done like it’s a 2 Fast 2 Furious reject.”
“A Focus? Seriously? That’s a grandmother’s car. In orange too, yuck!”
“Another Focus… Wait, didn’t I race him down route 7 a few weeks ago?”
“Another grandma car, ugh.”
“I have to admit, that Vitz doesn’t look too bad with those wheels on it.”
“That EK9 looks good. I wonder if it’s tuned.”
“What the heck is that? It looks Italian, so it’ll be fast.”
“Integra Type R! I get weak at the knees every time I see one…”
“And they’re off!”
“Dave is in trouble already.”
“What a bunch of… You can’t brake like that when you’re all bunched up! Sheesh!”
“Dave must be crapping himself down there.”
“Way off the racing line there.”
“Well he’s sort of doing better now.”
“He’s really flying now.”
“That Eclipse will be tough to overtake.”
“That’s a perfect overtaking spot if you’ve got power.”
“He actually pulled it off, impressive.”
“You need to focus harder! The Vitz is up your exhaust now!”
“Told you!”
“Just this guy left to overtake. Go on Dave!”
“Way too late Dave!”
“And into the kitty litter…”
“His tyres must be covered in crap now.”
“At least his position is safe.”
“Cutting it a bit there eh?”
“Grandma Grand Prix!”
“Are you close enough yet, Dave?”
“Is he going to pull off the same move twice in a row?”
“Nice!”
“Run Dave! Run!”
“Don’t brake too late again!”
“Oh! Bad luck.”
“What are you going to do about this then, Dave?”
“Around the outside? No?”
“Inside! That should be the winning pass.”
“Last turn! Stay in front Dave! Don’t lose it now!”
“I said don’t lose it!”
“Nice recovery at least.”
“Nice win Dave!”
Yuka walked towards the Civic.
“Our turn.”

I was considering it but I didn't want to mess up my release schedule.I'm glad to see this wasn't an April Fool's chapter.
I suppose that after Yuka said, "How hard can it be?" she ended up getting the pancakes all messed up.
As for the pancakes, well lets just say if Yuka was my other half, we'd be going out every day for dinner. No home cooking. Ever. Another great installment. My fav character is Cooper, hope he continues to play a part in the narrative
I cant promise anything, but if you want more Cooper, I'll try and add more Cooper.

“Please bare with us while we move the barriers! We will be using the full length of Suzuka for our feature race!”
Yuka sat in the boot of the Civic, enjoying a cup of hot chocolate before the race. A man approached her.
“Baby, hey baby.”
Yuka ignored the man.
“Don’t ignore me baby. I just want to ask you out.”
Yuka looked up briefly, before returning to her drink.
”Hey! How dare you ignore me!”
“I’m not ignoring you, I’m giving you a hint, but since you cant understand, I’ll spell it out for you. I’m not interested.”
”Hah! No girl isn’t interested in me!”
”Well this girl is, so deal with it.”
“Lets make a bet then.”
“Okay, I’m listening.”
“If I win, you go out with me. I choose the place and what you wear.”
“Pfft. Sure. And if I win?”
”You tell me.”
“Alright. If I win, you buy me a car. I choose the car and where it’ll be purchased from.”
”Whatever, deal. My NSX will thrash this Civic.”
”I’ll see you on the track then.”
”Mind giving me your name baby? I’m Dex.”
”I’m Yuka. And if you call me baby one more time, I’m going to castrate you with my front bumper.”
Dex walked off.
“Racers involved in the feature race, you have ten minutes to get ready.”
Yuka finished her hot chocolate and closed the boot.
”Show time!”
Yuka joined the group of racers and began the rolling start.

“This one is mine!”

”RKM first and second? Eh I’ll accept that.”

”So instead, you’re going to buy my friend a car. She cant drive so it’ll have to be a Kei car or something small.”

A red NSX shows up with semi-racing (might be sports) exhaust, starts further back than Yuka's Civic and ends up finishing in second place. I just had to. I just had to!

Meh, the story's alright so far but to be honest, every time I read a chapter I get bored quickly because of the fact that a 317 BHP Civic flies by the majority of racers like they're not even moving. I also don't grasp how a VTEC with a body kit fetched from the bottom of a cereal box can outmaneuver a dedicated sports car like it's nothing. It's uninteresting that way because you know exactly what's going to happen before you begin the plot: The main character of the chapter is going to win, or accomplish something extremely difficult like they're having a cup of tea. And even better; before a loss could be accomplished in "the little VTEC that could," it'll be replaced by something even more ridiculous that can probably run in circles around a sports car like a GT-R somehow.
