1: 2640
2: 1948
3: 1498
4: 1193

I am interseted in taking part in this as a tuner, the only thing I have to say is that the Premium model cars will have an advantage to the Standard model car because you can install aero kits on them. So maybe it would be good to restrict it to standard model cars. That way you would see a wider variety of cars and also it would be more fair. What do you reckon?
Also we all know that the DC5 Integra is going to be the winner.

Funny I think 4 of us are working on one at this point. For the PP level it's tough to beat, but I'm looking for something else just incase.

As for restricting premiums for the Aero kits, Standards get wings too. I haven't confirmed but I've been told the rest of the aero kits are just for looks.

It might be a bit hard to change the rules of the shootout now that there are two tunes already that would be negated by your proposed change.

You're probably right about the DC5, but I'd love to see you give your Prelude tune a bit more grunt. Maybe even have a bash at showing the young upstart how FF used to be done.👍

(Got a bit of a soft spot for Preludes, I owned one of the 1st gen ones for years)

Your more than welcome to participate.

However I think your wrong on both counts. On most FFs even high speed ones like we're running here adding rear down force does nothing to enhance your performance and indeed generally hinders it by increasing oversteer tendancies and creating drag slowing the car down. Additionally that wing is going to cost you PP that you have to make up either with loss of power or additional weight or both costing you even more performance.
As to the Integra being the winner I wouldn't bet money on it. There are plenty of other FFs that can more than hold their own at this PP!

@AssasinTuner I dont think the Front wings, and Extensions are just for looks, they definetly add drag and help keep the car more planted i think.

@tris_73 I agree I may have been a bit late with that suggestion but ohwell maybe next time we could do that. I will look into the Prelude and may use that. I dont really want to use the DC5 just because most people are using it.

Anyway count me in for one of the tuners, not sure which car yet but it may be a Celica, Prelude or DC5 lol

Good luck to everyone!!

EDIT: I will be using the Honda Integra Type R (DC5) '04 also :D
Best time so far: 2:01.75x

The aero kit have his influence for shure, this time i just use the front, because all this cars have the same problem of understeer and in this case only the front part will help. Taking out the rear help to replace some hp in the way of rear unusable rear downforce.
I think i've check all the FF cars for this test. The only to reach the "Integra DC5" is the "eclipse GT" . The focus give the sensation to be faster but it's just a sensation, the time is 1,5 / 2,0 sc more on Deep forest.
Don't buy the renault, you will loose your time and money also.

Thanks praiano63, I know what your saying and have removed the Rear Wing, added some BHP and improved my time so thanks. 👍

Thanks but that is correct I have installed the Front Aero Type A, Rear Aero Type A, but not the Rear Wing Type A. Rear Aero is the rear bumper, not the spoiler.
Thanks

Crossing fingers, I may have a car other than the ITR DC5 to compete with, the search is tough, like Trying to take out an equally PP matched NSX Type-R or CSL. If this works it will be an oddball.

That does sound interesting Assassin! Any hints on what we might be looking for?

Just out of interest, what's a good time for a stock DC5 at GVS? I just managed a 2:11.871 while breaking one in, which surprised the hell out of me with my skill level.

My tune is 2'01"800 at GVS and 1'18"300 at deep forest (G27). The closer others cars 500 pp FF i've tested are 1/2 to 1 .1/2second slower depending of track.

Thanks for that mate. Was sort of after the time most people get from this car fresh out of the dealership though.

Since I have your attention, just wanted to check which bits you need us to bolt on for your tune to get the HP. Obviously all the weight reduction we can get, but according to mygranturismo, the DC5 can get up to 389 fully loaded. Is there anything specific to leave off? Or is it just power limited to your hp spec?

A 4 Door :sly: :D

It's actually looking real promising. I'm breaking in the car now, and it's doing great. I have it at around 496PP Right now while I hope to break in around 500PP.

Even at 496PP I'm hitting better times then my Integra Type-R DC5. Still keeping an eye out for that "Special Edition" ITR in the UCD.

Only potential issue is Testers having the car :) or not :(

Well, I'm busy buying up every FF that appears in the UCD at the moment. I figure the payout from 1 seasonal is far more than any six FF cars that would qualify for this shootout. I'm averaging 1-2 cars each change.

Just found a low milage Axela 23S. That's a 4 door....:sly:

Shhhhhhhh Mazdaspeed!!! But That's not it :D

Thanks for the clarification praiano. I should be able to get started on the DC5 testing tomorrow night (unless Assassin enlightens us on the mystical 4 door he's got cooking and I have to do some ucd hunting:P). It's a bit late here now, and I've still got a bit too much aggression to work off after my wife decided to realign the front wheels of her Forrester with a concrete kerb on the way home from work.:grumpy:

Lmao. I know it's not funny, but it just made me bust out.

Alright I'm back...sort of(having to get the tires on my Jeep taken care of:drool:) Can somebody please PM me with a list of the new additions to both the tuners and the drivers so I can update the first page? Working off my cell phone so trying to read through all the posts and keep who's who straight is a chore.:boggled:

Count me in as a driver. I tested Raver and praiano 63's tunes earlier today and can give my review and lap times now if needed.

Welcome aboard ACSR421!

Feel free to post the times and reviews whenever your ready.

Yeah. Not that funny tonight, but I'll be laughing by tomorrow. Just as well all the tyre dealerships are having end of financial year sales here.👍

Here is my review of Raver and Praiano's tunes. I used a baseline tune of the Honda Integra '04 for reference. I added all power adders except turbo and all weight reduction. I didn't include chassis strengh. I added full custom suspension and used default values all else stock with SS tires. Power was @320 hp weight @999 kg and pp @486.

The good starting with my baseline car.
great sound with stock trans.
level stance
easy drivability with neutral handling
good all around gear ratio's
stable with smooth ride
consistent with fastest time on my 5th lap

The bad
moderate understeer
avg. brake balance with avg. strengh
avg. acceleration
vanilla handling

Lap time of 2:05.754 @GVS

Ravers Tune
The good
level stance
overall gear ratios
overall cornering (amazing how much more planted a car is with better gearing)
strong brakes - set to 6-8
stable on straights
hugs the inside line

The bad
aggressive handling that requires extra concentration
little margin for error with handling
easy to overshoot apex on some corners
didn't like the long tunnel corner

overall setup not suited to my driving style

Lap time 2:04.416 @GVS

Praiano 63s Tune

The good
very stable under braking
brake balance works well with tune
smooth turn-in
gear spacing close and effective
quick accel.
used all of gearing on long straight
easy to drive fast
could make consistent laps that suited my driving style
fastest time came on 4th lap

The bad
car sits high in front and low in back
loss of traction on corner exit (slow corners)
dampers maxed out on front
moderate understeer
could be faster for me with less understeer
had to coast more with lower entry and exit speed in corners
harsh ride up front

overall a good tune for my style

Lap time 2:02.800 @GVS
