The 2005 Gran Turismo Award “Best in Show” was awarded to Stephen Papadakis with his “interesting” 2004 Honda S2000.

Team Oreca Audi R8 Vision GT Press Release image, however, the car itself has existed in a Le Mans based Gran Turismo 4 build for quite a while now. Then there are the two high polygon models seen at the start of the TGS trailer, the RX7 and Evolution IX.

Samberto, I've got the full length video, although that particular shot is not shown during the R8's pitstop. I am rather skeptical whether it is a full next generation model as the textures are rather poor.

Gob smacking! Is there a GTP thread on this Lemans build? Time to get the babelfish in my ear…

I’m not suggesting that it’s a full next gen model, rather, that the 2005 R8 will feature in an upcoming GT title. What’s your understanding of the Lemans build? I’m translating present.

Ah, the build was for a 'time attack conference.' Thanks for the info; it appears that I’ve had my head buried in the TT forum for too long. :D

MX-5 demo…I must find a copy!

I have the video from TGS, and the complete one. You Send It doesn't work with my computer anymore, among other things. If you have any alternatives, PM them to me. I might not come back to this thread.

I can only say more than likely. As we know Tourist Trophy which has been in development since the days of Gran Turismo Concept or even before hand as the GT3 volume was used as a platform to build off. Surprisingly this article was and is as accurate as anything, and look at the date of publication, 20th Oct 2003!

Aside from Tourist Trophy, GT(4) Mobile (quite possibly the biggest sales bluff of the century) and Gran Turismo for Boys, GT4 has been out of serious development since late November 2004, remember the massive Final Flight Ceremony? I can only imagine during those 3½ years of development, whatever the PS2 hardware couldn't handle, it was being developed ready for the next generation. It's been a year since then, besides the products known to be development and whatever else PD have tucked up their sleeves who knows how far the next GT's come along. PD is great at keeping its mouth shut, from what we’ve been shown it’s just the beginning of what’s in store.

Kazunori stated in the GT4 Special Preview Booklet interview that B-Spec was initially “conceived” around GT3's release and was kept under wraps until the 2004 TGS, so in reality who knows how much it being kept from us? I can only imagine that more high definition models will be shown at e3 2006 when actual next level content is ready, what’s the point in showing them off now when all you’ve got to show is “upgraded” GT4 material?
