I think the problem is there are only around 20 cars announced so far that are new to Forza. It's somewhat disappointing I must say considering they've had 6 years to create the new one.
I'm hoping in the next few weeks there will be more revealed but keeping my hopes down.

Just counted and it looks like there are 15 new to Forza models but there could be a few more somewhere....

Currently 19 of which that are coming at launch are new to Forza as a whole, with 91 being new to Motorsport. The criteria is, if it's first unveiled for Motorsport, but is playable in Horizon firsthand, it would be new to Motorsport instead.

Plus of course the race day pack (7) and all 30 car pack cars (they are confirmed new to Forza, not new to Motorsport).

Besides, in the time of FH4 and FH5 so many new cars have been modelled which were never in FM7, obviously lots of them need to come over. And obviously T10/PG car modellers have been working on them as new to Forza vehicles over the last 6 years. We just got to see them earlier in Horizon.

Well I found FM7's ovals were absolutely no fun due to the lack of drafting effects and all the road cars being quite imprecise to steer.

That's not a safe assumption. If it was 550 or more, that's what the marketing would say: "over 550 cars", not "over 500 cars".

Their choice of value is a clear indication of a number between 501 and 549, but more likely a number no larger than 525.

As usual, IP law is probably to blame. Gran Turismo used to license race cars individually too, with GT7 being the first title where the title sponsor of GT500 cars is not present in their name. Forza culled all of their duplicates as well, but the Caddy's the newest, coolest race car you can get in the game, and in IMSA they have this cool thing where they're racing three cars in the manufacturer's colours... I can see why Turn 10 may want to have the #2 and #31 cars in the game alongside the #1 that features on the cover - and even if they didn't, Cadillac probably does.

Let's not forget that FM7 had those identical-but-with-different-livery Formula E, and FH5 had 8 different Extreme E off roaders added.

I'd prefer an approach like ACC where they build a whole bunch of coloured liveries even for single make cars to ensure the single make racing grid has a varied look. Whereas FM doesn't seem to have that approach, so at least this way when you see multiple Cadillacs they won't all look identical.

I have a feeling Eagle Rock will become the whipping boy/scapegoat for all the tracks which weren't in at launch. Which is kind of silly as leaving it out wouldn't necessarily have guaranteed that any of the others would make it in next month.

You turned right, i saw some people complaning about Eagle Rock and how its space could had filled by another real track lol

Likely Cadillac asked that in trade to allow car image to be in the cover of game

Decent lineup of bmws but I don't understand why the E39, E60, normal E92, F82 and F87 is missing. I get maybe the latter is replaced by the GTS' and M2C but I would prefer to have both normal and souped-up versions.

Also the E92 and F82 has 3 widebodies in total in FH5, the E92 got a new one a few months ago. The F82 and F87 also has a few individual body parts, maybe they will be transfered to the GTS' and M2C 🤷‍♂️

I hope the mentioned cars get added back in with updates, it isn't too far fetched I think.

Edit: I guess I will have to start some car votings on the suggestions hub 🙈
Also what's up with the Porsche 935 racecar? You can literally see it on the main page over on Forza.net, FH5's had it for a while too. Makes no sense, maybe there'll be a day one patch with a few additional cars not found in the files?
