Due to me being ill since New Years day, I haven't had the time or the pure motivation to use my laptop there didn't get to post my most recent purchase which turned up last Saturday.

So far so good, I haven't watched it in much detail due to being ill. I'm hoping to watch and actually listen to the CD this weekend.

Why is the Dremel not worth it, or do you mean the special nail trimming model?

Yeah, sorry. I meant that rotary-sander for nails that they sell on TV. You can use an ordinary dremel and it's a lot easier. My dad's dogs get freaked out from sticking their nails in the hole of the plastic shroud on the one from TV.

The furminator is awesome though. I wish my uncle would use it more often on his dogs; he doesn't because he's lazy. :lol:

Speaking of him, he just got a 4870X2 (!) to complete his computer build. We're just waiting on the memory that I ordered for him ($80 memory for only $23 bucks ftw), and then we'll be good to go. It was kind of a shock as we had just planned for a 4870, but apparently he found a good deal on a 4870X2 so he jumped on it. Good thing he got that HAF932 case (for only $15 after rewards) instead of the aluminum Lian-Li I suggested.

Or you can spend a bit less on a smaller screen version and buy a secondary monitor for a couple hundred dollars. 22" Acers are down to $160 or so.

Smaller screen doesn't mean lower prices. It's much easier to fit all the hardware in a laptop with a bigger screen.
In most stores 17" have better specs than 15,4" models in the same price range.

I had to see what Kool Aid was all about. Going to rustle up batch tonight, I'm just hoping it doesn't taste like crap.

Brace yourself for disappointment. It's essentially colored water with sugar.

But somehow, it was very tasty stuff when we were growing up as kids...

Does anybody remember the stuff before Kool-Aid? "Funny Face," anyone?

:lol: Get ready for shattered hopes.

edit: Oh, and here's my uncle's build so far:

We need to wait til Monday for the 4870X2 and the other two sticks of memory.

PSU at the bottom? Unusual. What's the big metal cover between two extensions on the card?

The silver square thing to the right of the PCI-e slots? That's the southbridge heatsink.

I can't believe that my parent's 10 year old Deskjet 712C still works. My dad is just gonna run the printer till its dead. I gotten the glasses in black and silver(no way I'm going for the brown:ill:).

So.... Does anyone know the average age of a printer?:P

My brother bought loads on eBay, I quite like it! It does get a bit sickly if you drink too much though.

My latest purchases were made at the Autosport & Pistonheads show today.

Dodo Juice 'Sour Power' PH neutral car shampoo with Carnauba (£6.95);

It's not officialy released until 15th Jan but I got my hands on the last pre release bottle today :D Missed out on their Quick Detailer but never mind.

And then two sample pots of their Carnauba waxes (£3 each, normally £4.95);

Light Fantastic is a soft wax and Diamond White is a harder wearing wax, both have similar ingredients though (Carnauba wax, beeswax and Coconut Oil mainly). I'm looking forward to layering the softer wax on top of my sealant. :) (How sad is it that I'm looking forwards to waxing my car?)

Yeah, my parents have a 7 year old Deskjet that’s still their primary printer. HP really does make bullet-proof printers.

That is the heatsink for the processor. I'm taking a guess you never looked into your own computer case.

Given I've just re-built my computer I have. But the heatsink isn't there. My processor & heatsink looks more like this.

Suppose I presumed they all looked the same.

You must not be making it right. Kool-Aid is baller, especially when there's tons of sugar in the mix.

Kool-Aid was only good when they had the blue one with the octopus/squid thing on the package next to kool-aid man.

If you want something good, grab an Ironbeer.

In melbourne i managed to find some sennheiser headphones going cheap, i bought a Driving Force EX steering wheel (which took the weight of my bag to within 300 grams of the allowance ;) and i got Just Cause and Test Drive Unlimited both for the PS2

YAY
