I know there's some gun folks in here somewhere. And I know Solid Lifters knows about NFA/suppressors and whatnot. Anyhoo here's my most recent acquisitions. H&K USP 9SD, SWR Trident 9 suppressor/silencer, GG&G rail adapter w/Insight M3, and Jet Funnel magwell w/18rd magazines.

My father had always told me silencers were illegal in the US.. I guess not?

EDIT:(Assuming you live in the US...)

Yes, they are legal in about 38 states purchased from a Class 3 dealer, approval from ATF, and a purchase of a tax stamp.

But why does anyone want a gun, and why oh why does anyone want a silencer on the end of that gun?

Flame on!

:irked:👍
Protection...because some people like to be 50 Cent. Though I doubt that they will ever walk in his shoes or T.I.'s and various Main/underground rappers.

Very, very nice! Congrats!

I'm not a big H&K fan. Their pistols set too high in my hand, which causes a lot of gun flip. I'm sure that suppressor will cancel a lot of that out, since they make great compensators.

My SixaxiS took a dump. The buttons were sticking and the only way to stop that from happening was to smack it with my cane. I guess I did that too many times, because it just fell completely apart on me. :D

So, I got this... SplitFish FragFX v. 2 PS Controller

The reviews aren't great, but those that like it say they like for the same reasons I would like it, so I'm giving it a shot. I'll report back on it when it arrives on Wednesday.

Can't wait to see your review on this one. 👍

That a very sexy looking gun you got there! 👍 It may be cliche but the only gun i'd like to have from H&K is unattainable, the UMP. :P But I'd have to say a gun i'd really like to have is a M14 SOCOM.

Way to go, mr. Poplawski! I hunted all of my life, with proper weapons, and I sincerely believe that having a SILENCER on a semi-automatic pistol is going way over the line....no matter what the applicable state law may be. It is more than stupid, if it is actually legal.

It is 100% legal with an approved BATFE Form 4. Please explain why it's stupid? Because you've watched too many Hollywood movies, and only assassins use them? Since 1934 only one legally registered NFA item has been recorded as being used in a crime. Oh, and my local Sheriff didn't think it was stupid when he signed/approved the forms for all 7 of my silencers, or my SBR.

It allows one to shoot a firearm without hearing protection, reduces recoil, reduces flash, etc. I can introduce new, young, shooters to the sport of shooting without them being jumpy and flinching everytime they squeeze the trigger due to to the typically loud noise emitted from firearms.

By the way, hunting is legal in several states with silencers, as well as machine guns.;)

About the only gun that is anywhere near "Hollywood" quiet when silenced is a .22lr. Everything else generally is loud. .223/5.56, .308, etc. all still have supersonic crack of the bullet breaking the sound barrier, and sound like an unsuppressed/unsilenced .22lr.

A Wacom Bamboo tablet, it's pretty sweet. Typed out that sentence with it, still getting used to it though.

Is that an M4?

What was that little one?

Also, what states? I'm sure New York isn't one of them (:grumpy:), but I'm genuinely interested. I've done some pistol shooting, but I never have been able to get used to the noise.

Here's my latest purchase - other than all the toys, food, bed, bowls, etc. we bought her today. It's a black lab named Tess we picked up from a local lab resuce place. Took her home last night for a trial run, and knew almost immediately there was no way we weren't going to keep her. We finalize everything Tuesday! She's between 3-5 years old, and we absolutely love her. She's a sweet little couch potato. Very timid/shy/reluctant, though. We think someone beat the hell out her.

(She's not very cooperative when it comes to photos)

The little one is a Walther P22 with an old Tactical Innovations .22lr(Tac52) suppressor and a Walther red laser in front of the trigger guard.

At this time, the following states allow private ownership of silencers: AL, AR, AK, AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, ID, IN, KY, LA, ME, MD, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, NC, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, and WY.

The above text in bold is taken from one of many websites that talk about silencers and their legality. It's outdated, though. In recent months I'm pretty sure Kansas and Missouri have passed legislation legalizing the ownership of firearms suppressors.

Read up about suppressors and NFA firearms here... http://www.cs.cmu.edu/afs/cs/usr/wbardwel/public/nfalist/nfa_faq.txt

@ Josh I love that forend! Is that a SureFire M73 Picatinny?

Also, I had the Walther P22 but it had a threaded barrel (against the law here in California). I got a letter from the DOJ that I had to 'turn it in.' I sent it in to Walther to be changed, and they never sent it back nor did I get a new model. Only when I pressed about taking legal action did they offer me a check. I never bought a new one and will never purchase a S&W or Walther pistol again. The entire way they treated me left a very bad taste in my mouth for their products.

Suppressed AR-15 I built w/12.5" barrel.

Sweet AR-15. 👍

I don't know too much about firearms (I'm still learning!) but, owning an AR type rifle in California is pretty difficult. It must have a 10 round fixed magazine or no pistol grip, suppressors, or folding stock which gimps the weapon and makes it look like something from the late 19th century.

My dreams of owning a Bushmaster ACR/Magpul Masada are dashed. :(

I'm not going to show off my latest purchase as it's only half done and not very pleasant, but yesterday I parted with £2800 for a couple of tooth implants to replace a bridge I've had since a bike accident. My mouth looks a bit like a Picasso drawing at the moment and it's a little painfull but not too bad and it'll be worth it. I've still got to pay another £2000 in a couple of months when they fit the caps onto the titanium posts they've put in.

It's a LaRue 11" rail. I kind of wish I would've went with a 9", but the 11" still looks good to me. THat's an old pic. Still has the LaRue handguard, but with KAC 11 rib rail covers. The DMS-1 scope/LaRue scope mount is gone - awaiting a LaRue/Aimpoint Micro T-1 setup. That huge Tac16 silencer is still on it, but awaiting BATFE approval of my Advanced Armament M4-2000 Mod 08 silencer.

I read about your P22/California experience in a different thread a while back. Made me sad and upset at the same time. Your post, along with Solid Fro's(about Cali's AR's) makes me never want to move there.:scared:

In SC everything goes. Silencers, short barrel rifles, AOW's, short barrel shotguns, machine guns, and I'm pretty sure destructive devices as well.

Sorry Josh but your other purchase is more impressive to me.

Awesome Dog!! Looks so cute, I'm sure she'll relax abit more once she's settled in and become more playful.
I know when my Aunt adopted her dog it was extremely shy but he quickly got used to everyone and now he's always barging people around getting attention

It should also be know that Labs and Retrievers are my favourite dogs.

Golden Retrievers are our favorite dogs, but when we saw this girl we just had to bring her home! We adopted our second dog several years ago which was a Beagle named Angel. Such a sweetheart. Sadly when I moved to SC from OK my older brother kept her.:( She too was shy at first, but quickly opened up into a crazy little dog!

Slightly better pic just taken:

That sounds expensive even for private dental care. You have a plan at all?

Yeah, rub it in, buddy! :grumpy:

Nah, I'm not jealous, I'm actually happy for you. But I'm a bit saddened to see the great semi-autos you have while I'm stuck with M1 Garands, M14, and fixed magazine SKS rifle, all of which I have delivered to my home thanks to my C&R FFL. So, it's not so bad. However, I cannot add a telescoping stock, vertical grip or a high capacity (more than 10 rounds) magazine like your pictured rifle, because that would then make it an 'assault rifle.' Really f'n stupid, huh?

No, you NEVER want to move here. California sucks. I want to move to Arizona, or maybe Nevada. But, Arizona sounds better to me, 'cause I hate Las Vegas and don't like the idea I have to sign a waiver that the state or local municipality is not obligated to provide me with water.

@ Bro with the Fro Get a M1 Garand or M14. There awesome, and if you get a C&R FFL, only $30, you can have them delivered to your home from out of state, since nobody in California have them!

Too bad the P22 didn't work out for you Solid Lifters. I'm not really a big fan of the P22. The one I handled just didn't seem like a solid, well built gun. I'm looking at getting a Ruger Mark II or III in the next month or so. My dad and I just went half/half on a Ruger Single Six, which is also a very fun gun to shoot. It looks like its going to be .22LR shooting for a while until the ammo for the other stuff comes down a little bit.

Josh - Very nice collection. I've never seen a single owner with that many suppressors before. It's alot of paperwork and money, but I'm sure it's worth it. 👍

God I want one. I will agree that California's laws are extremely strict, it doesn't stop alot of people though.
