I'm not up on Mitsubishi's history, but did the Mirage ever get a VR4 or was that just the Galant & GTO?

The Legnum got a VR4 too. The Mirage never got a VR4 - probably for what it was set out to do, it would have been too powerful. But, being a Mitsubishi...

What the Mirage did get was a four-cylinder 1.6 with the MIVEC system also seen on the FTO, Mitsubishi's version of a variable valve timing system. Made 175ps, which isn't at all bad from 1600cc. It came in the coupe as above, and also a 3dr hatch (which you'll find in Gran Turismo). Unfortunately the Proton version didn't get this engine so it's a car with a great chassis and a rather average engine.

Engine swap? :D

Always an option as it would drop straight in! Not a bad idea for those with rusty Mirages, who could buy a Proton body cheaply and swap everything over. For those of us in the UK though who only got the Proton and never the Mirage (officially) I think it's easier said than done to find an engine! There's not much wrong with the Proton engine, it's just nowhere near as special - 1.8, 16v and around 130bhp. Warm, but not hot :P

The older Mirages did get the 4g61T, with 4wd as well, so a 1.6t mini-VR4 of sorts was available. A mate of mine had one, until he got his hands on a 4g63 out of a Galant.

He's still ironing out some issues, but runs mid-13s as it is now.

I thought this was a neat picture.

And here's the front... Needs a bit of aero, nothing outlandish... Perhaps Vertex?

At least he got rid of the exhausts on the RX7 pretty quickly, even though his aim in his own words were "to **** up an RX7", labelling it 't**t spec'

Doesn't matter what he puts on the front since he's a drifter; at some point it's either going to get knocked off or removed so it looks like he knocked it off during a heroic dorifto battle yo.

I tried wording this post a few different ways before I came to the conclusion that it was impossible to put together a proper sounding question from what you've posted, so I'll just say...... What?

But that one's better because it's got RE Amemyia Aero and 17" Regamasters.

Indeed. It's a propper circuit-used car too from what I read.

Sarcasm. ;) i.e the owner meant to keep the front stock as it's likely to get knocked off drfiting. Also so it looked like he knocked off the aftermarket one whilst drifting (slammed mad tytely yo, I may add ;) ) Thus making him appear more "hardcore"

I don't think that's what he meant.

Aftermarket bumpers are cheaper than oem ones.

Fred said it needed more aero on the front and suggested a particular manufacturer.

I responded that it didn't matter what front end he put on it, since (as a drifter) it was likely to have its front bumper knocked off in the near future anyway, or at least removed so the owner could pretend he knocked it off to look (as DM says) more hardcore.

It seems like about 50% of the drift car pictures I see have no front bumper. Like it's a badge of honor or something to have a bent car.

Zomg Duke u didnt no dat mssing ur cr up whn drftng iz kool?

 I think it's impossible to understand those who do such things and it should be left at that.

It seems you have misunderstood.

They remove the front bumper so they don't tear it off or mess it up, then simply put it back on at the end of the day and drive home on a car with an intact front bumper, not because they want it to appear that they tore it off.

I know you hate the "posuer" look, but don't take it too far and assume things like that.

Also, that "mad tyte drifter" has been drifting that car multiple times a week, and so far the only damage he appears to have is a scuff on the front left of his bumper. Don't assume that all drifters just go and beat the hell out of their cars for awesome points.

I hate the posuer look as well, but that was a bit annoying frankly, because I know the owner of that car has great car control and you just lumped him with the "mad tyte driftahz" in the U.S. drifting scene.
