Hey guys and gals!
Just signed up and have been lurking awhile.
Slowly but surely building my die cast 1:18 collection but the reason I started this was to begin my first project.
So after going back and forth on what my first project would be I settled on a Kyosho silver E92 M3 coupe. Had to buy a Kyosho GTR M3 for the CSL wheels (not willing to try and decipher german to order some from Uli and didn't feel like waiting for shipping...maybe in the future though)
My plans for this project are strictly wheel swap, body paint, wheel paint, interior, and suspension.
The body is getting painted flat black. I'm leaving the chrome strip on the fender vent and leaving the carbon fiber hood. The wheels will be painted a dark gray or flat black (CSL wheels) and I'm going to attempt to lower the body just a tad. As for the engine bay I may lay down some carbon fiber decals but that's about it. In the real M3 there isn't much but a sea of black, so that makes modding the engine easy. Master cylinder cover, battery cover, and intake cover along with intake tube will probably get the carbon treatment. The brake calipers will be painted red. I also have some braided line that I am going to try to tie into the brakes to look like braided lines.
On to the interior. I have two HWE F430 Coca Cola #16's sitting around. One is acceptable for an HWE but the other has issues. So therefore I'm pulling the cloth racing seat (red) and harness along with some other interior goodies out of that F430 and swapping it into the E92. Probably either going to put the F430's steering wheel into it or flock the stock E92 steering wheel in black. Due to the racing seat being red cloth I'm debating whether or not to flock the centers of the stock E92 seats red for that alcantara look (undecided).
The M3 and GTR should be here sometime this week and I'll try to post pics along the way. I only ask that you have patience b/c after all I'm the FNG around here. Thanks and I look fwd. to hearing everyone's thoughts.
But if anyone is wanting to get a semi visual of the look here it is on the exterior....
