A bit too agressive, drifting wide of every apex. Car could have used a bit more LSD as the inside tyre was smoking out of every corner.

0.6s quicker than me - what advice can I give other than slow the heck down and give the rest of us a chance! ;)

Here's my replay:

Mostly a tidy lap. You would benefit by being a bit smoother on the brakes from what I can see. Don't always use 100% braking. Turn 1 on this challenge required more like 80-90% on the brakes while turning in, allowing the rear to start to break away a little. You seemed a little cautious through turn 3... front locking a bit cost time there. And the last hairpin really benefitted from late braking and late apex to get the best speed down the straight - you turned in a bit too early. 👍 :)

Here is my NTSC replay. Sorry it took so long, just got back from vacation. Looks like it's time to start week 2.

Clean and the time is accurate. Nice job! No tips from me, because ya beat me.

@EDK and others interested in renaming GT5 replays:

I had the great idea to export one of my replays multiple times and then check the files to see how they differ between replay001 and replay002, since they should be exactly the same except for whatever marks them as a certain replay number. What I discovered is that the SFO file can be changed easily in a text editor, but the Param.PFD and Replay.0 files are entirely different. So I'm guessing that Sony is applying some sort of compression or encryption to those files during export, and the replay number might be used as part of the encryption key. But basically, I don't think there's any easy way to do this.

I'm going to ask on some PS3 hacking sites next, I guess. I've seen tools that allow you to run other people's save games on your (jailbroken) PS3, so maybe there's something out there, but I'm doubting there's been much interest from the hackers for renaming replay files.

(I don't know if there was a better place to post this, but I figured the issue is directly related to replay verification.)

I'm jumpin' on the jumpputt's replay shortly.

Thanks to 01GTP and/or pyxen f you get around to looking at mine.

Clean lap and the specs look to be correct.

I know this combo did not have the best traction but I think you could have been smoother and faster if you were a bit easier on the accelerator.
The use of TCS appeared to make the car studder when trying to keep traction.
At first I thought you may use a controller but you use a wheel, then I noticed the TCS in another view. Was this run with a wheel?
Use what you need to make the combo enjoyable and keep at it, you will improve.

I did enjoy your lap and had a few smiles during it due to the sideways action. ;) 👍
Slightly faster splits.

T1: 15.623
T2: 25.232
T3: 20.782

Wrong thread ;)

Ah damn I got caught before I got the time to edit my post.

Thanks for the step by step EDK

But my problem is that I cant seem to unzip the file. I either get a message saying that it's corrupt (even my own zipped replay), or that there aren't any files inside.

1. Try a different browser. (Not sure which one you are using, but if you have IE, try Firefox or Chrome).

2. Try different Zip Software. 7-Zip and J-Zip have worked for some people, and are free.

👍 Good, I was hoping someone would smile. :dopey: I know it was ugly, but I just couldn't beat it, after many hours. That lap was with DS3, and to get going out of the hairpins I was pumping the gas repeatedly, which can't be good. Later slower runs were with the DFGT, but eventually I gave up.

Thanks so much for the feedback!

Replay submitted. Thanks Vince_Fiero for the heads-up.

Nice one mate. 👍

If you find a way let us all know. Initially I thought it was a simple as changing the last digit of the replay file but sadly not. :grumpy:

I'd be happy to check say ten replays in one go but having to do it individually (depending replay names) does make it quite tedious.

Cheers Shaun.

Here's my replay :)

PS: Normally i'd check some other replays as well, but i'm working on some changes to the board I want to fix first...

I got it to work by using both J-Zip and Google Chrome 👍
Thank you much EDK :dopey:

PS: Anyone else need their NTSC replay verified?

Hopefully this replay goes through okay. Please PM me if you have problems with my replay and I'll resubmit.

GTP_A7XMaverick Sorry I can't give the lil' green flaggy, looks like you had 3 tires off, right before the finish. Maybe someone else can have a look?

I'll have to agree with Gravitron here, it does look as tho GTP_A7XMaverick only has one tire on the track right before the finish line :ill:

Your replay did go through ok, and is a clean lap aside from all the tire smoke :dopey:

However, your replay has a time of 1'07.200 and not your submited time of 1'07.590, so i'm not sure what happens next...

To get your correct best lap time, open up the replay theatre, and your time will be in light blue in the top right corner. It's not the "Best Lap" time that your see posted during the replay itself. Hope this helps for next time :sly:

Thanks for checking.

All specs viewed normal and runs clean!👍

Uhh, I just got a pm from fetchbot saying:
Your submitted time for week 1 has been rejected as the deadline has passed.

hopefully this is some kind of mistake...I submitted on Tues of week 1...and I just got verified...

I got the same message.

He's doing some work with the Bot right now, I'm sure that's the issue.

I'll check it if no one does before I get home.

(last time I said this, the replay in question was checked almost immediately.) 👍

Thanks.

I need to double check this thread to see if any other NTSC replays still need checking.
