So in this thread do you post made up track ideas using streets from your neighbourhood? If so I'll have a pretty cool picture tommorow.

If you want to build a race track in a place no one would have ever thought to build one, going to the middle east is no longer enough. Now, you have to go somewhere even less likely to be thought of as a racing area. Like Godthab, Greenland. I know that probably isn't a very good track, but I did the best I could considering the environment. It runs 3.03 miles.

In other news, I'm going to heavily reduce the number of Wasilla tracks I'm doing, and probably make some heavy modifications to the Anchorage project so I can keep the length down and still include elements of all the proposed courses so far.

Yeah, the first one would require a special bridge. I'm hoping the second one is run on dirt roads, just so I don't have to bother with excessively long combination circuits.

Gibraltar Rock
Length= 5.40km/3.36mi
Elevation change=141m/462ft
Corners= 38

I can only imagine the scenery, and how insanely bumpy and undulating the road would be.:ill:

Of course, it wouldn't be practical for anything other than rally cars or V8 SC's:dopey:

2.07 miles in Juneau

Oh, and interludes is still prohibited from trying to outdo that :lol:

I wanted to stop doing AK courses and make one in Montevideo, Uruguay of all places, but the Gmap Pedometer just wasn't cooperating.

4.29 miles in Key West, Florida. Hope no one else has done one there yet. Try as I might I couldn't get the length below four miles, though I could probably do it if I'd get rid of the Palm Avenue Causeway section.

A while ago I stumbled across a game (which sadly also doubles as a Vodafone ad) where you can race on tracks created on Google Maps in Jenson Button's McLaren, however the corners are incorrectly banked and the streets are too wide. Here is the link if anyone is interested.

Yeah, I know Hometown GP. It was great fun, but it used to cause my computer to shut down. I've got a new one, but I'm not willing to risk it.

I tend to like the layouts that are more packed tight together than anything. Or, at least if part of it is close together. I don't know why even, it just seems better to me. However, with the power of self criticism at this, I still think mine could use some improvements.

Just for kicks, a collection of small courses in San Francisco:

And since my actual hometown is kinda too square, I'll decide against posting anything from there.
