I revisited the old Wasilla track and managed to find 3.21 miles, nearly double the length of the old North Short Course (the others were all too long, though I'm keeping the 38-mile "Targa Wasilla", and possibly a track on Fairview Loop.) The results are here:
I have an idea, derived from something interludes has done.
Go to your hometown/ where you are most familar with, and create a rally stage that features some of the roads you would love to drive quickly. Use your local knowledge! If you live in a city, probably would work best if you use the outskirts.
It's about the same length as the Nurburgring actually, it's 21 KM and Nurburgring is I think 20
PS: Wow, I was using that same area trying to make a track an hour ago, just to the left, there is the road with loads of green surrounding it and it is quite curvy, I was using that
There have been reports that Indycar is looking to get a second race up and running in Brazil next year, at a street circuit in Proto Alegre. So I suggest this layout: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4471141
They're also talking about an event in Qingdao, China. So here's a few layouts:
First one here is based around my local area of Bromley! It goes past my house just after the 5 mile mark and just before the end. But...why am I telling you that?! Here it is, right here: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4473314
The second one I made is a rally stage in Italy that starts at Sant'Agostino and ends at Montecarulli. It's just under 17km so it's a perfect length for a rally stage. Here it is: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4473323
The third and final one I made today is a stupidly long route around Southern Germany not too far from the Nurburgring, actually. It's a whopping 20.3 miles long (yes, I know right?!) but it still manages to look less challenging that it probably would be in real life (I haven't been down the roads in real life). Again, the link is here: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4473336
EDIT: Just a quick Nurburgring recreation for the hell of it But here it is anyway. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4473351 Sorry if this has already been done to death, but I haven't seen any yet on this thread.
