I tried doing a point-to-point on the Pedometer from Cape Reinga (said Ree-anga) to Wellington (top and bottom points of North Island, New Zealand reapectively) and the Pedometer imploded so I had to quit that tab

I tried to make a Helsinki circuit based on the old Helsinki Thunder design, but I couldn't find the section of the city where that circuit was based. So I came up with these instead:

Extended - http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4560128

Grand Prix - http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4560131

National 'East' - http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4560133

National 'Central' - http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4560135

National 'North' - http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4560134

Club - http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4560139

Did the Helsinki Thunder track. Locaton was a bit more north from where your tracks were located. Had to make some changes because part of the track is a "no-road" area.

Does anyone still use SketchUp? Because I'd love to get some tutorials from you. I'm waaay out of my depth here.

Here, this is from another creation posted on a 'dead' thread. Best to revive the track on a 'live' thread.

It uses the Olympiastadion in Berlin
[Green blobs are the grandstands]

Also, a (clockwise) track around Oxford: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4581738

Oh wow I used Google Sketchup for something

Granted, I didn't add much, but it's just to show that I can do something. Pit area would most likely come from the top part of the Sweeper, and exit on the main straight leading to Knife Edge. With the arena complex it wouldn't exactly make decent F1 racing, but it's not bad for a start, I suppose. Perhaps go straight from Turn 8 into the Sweeper.

I did that, it was massive, I can't remember how long though

Jimlaad: Wouldn't the running track be absolutely terrible to put cars on? It's also one of the softer running tracks in the world so if they don't skate on it they will get stuck.:P

akmuq: It was just a novel idea. It is surrounded by a stadium, to solve any grandstand problems. Stadiums quite often get tarmacked for races e.g. race of champions, WRC stages, DTM at Munich stadium this year. It would be fun anyway.

Not sure I'm good enough to be giving tutorials yet.. but my advice is persevere and experiment, and also.. patience. I did post something I started here earlier in the thread.. but I've not really had chance to develop it further..

Burnaston, Derbyshire, UK

A 4 mile circuit, utilising the Toyota plant's test track, the plant's roads and the outside A-road. Probably wouldn't be possible because it involves hacking up the car park, but still. Appears to be the very odd child of the Bahrain GP circuit.

Because it is a bit tamed, short and doesn't contain the followthrough, tyres or the second to last corner, the 3 best corners on the circuit. Also, fast corners into long straights into fast corners again isnt very overtaky.
