Historic Can-Am race? The race that never happened but should have. The Chapparal 2j vs the Toyota 7. Is there any interest in racing these two vintage cars? I am thinking of a single event at Laguna Seca. The Chapparal is a fairly rare and expensive car, but the Toyota is a prize car (b-spec Like The Wind).

I know of at least 2 club members who are partial to the Cobra!

The Giulia is my favorite car to drive. I would like to be in a series with that car.

I'm interested in the club, series etc., though I usually have trouble with event timing. I am in California GMT-8 so hopefully there will be something I can join.

We currently have members in at least 6 different time zones around the world... that's just what I know about!!
Example: US EDT, US PDT, US CDT, BST (GMT+1), CET, Perth/Tokyo, and Sydney

In the current Spitfire races, for example, there are participants in 4 different time zones: including US EDT, US PDT, BST, & CET.
We have 3 different divisions to accommodate!

The chances of you not finding any vintage races at all convenient ever are pretty slim!

80s Japanese huh...would an AE86 championship be a good idea?

Oooh, maybe I'll add the Corollas to the list of potential car pairs in my 2-speed low hp series.
Though they're rather close, the 83 & the 98. But there's been some mention about having vintage vs later model cars that might be close, and seeing how they fair in a race together.

That said, I have not tried either of those Corollas in the game yet, so I have no idea what they're like.

But anyway, point being, if it's pre-1990... it's likely there's somebody who's interested in the VCRC!
(Though I imagine not many interested in the Piazza. lol. Seems like that's right there with the Subaru 360 in popularity. haha.)

Have they FIXED the transmission issue?
Because I got one in a shuffle race the other day, and I was surprised to find I wasn't hitting the limiter like used to happen...


If that's the case, the one in the Recommended Garage might actually be worth having there!!
And if the stock transmission is a bit better, we can plan a race with it unmodified! 👍

That one is too hard to handle. The other (standard) one is much easier to handle (on hard racing tyres).

Could be a nice combo on the GT Paddock track.

The premium cockpit is worth the extra effort. In any case it is hard equaly for every one. Worth case we could race on easier tyre.

I did it in a shuffle race the other night - not sure about the tires - whatever it comes on I suppose... It was kind of sloppy at first, but once I got the hang of it, it was quite fun.

In the TCR we took it on hard race tyres and it stayed difficult to manage. I tried the same track with the other, less powerful Cobra, and it was nearly as fast, because it behaves better.

The premium the one with open top, and the standard has the roof?
I hadn't realized they were different spec.
I guess I've never driven the standard... ?

The premium (open) has a better power/weight ratio, which makes it harder to put (and keep) the poneys on the track.

Well, I'm going to definitely buy another out of the NCD, and test it on various tires...
