I can't make it.

:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

I'll be checking out the replay later though, as I expect this to be the most epic race ever. (My b-spec grinder will be running in case anyone is wondering why I'm online.)

Well that was a fun one.

Really great to follow behind you Plate. I realized I hadn't really run with you in front so I didn't try bump drafting with you 'cause I didn't know how you'd take to it, just to be safe.

But it got intense doing the back and fourth every ten laps or so (when I mess up lol)
Then it got really crazy when we exited the pits and tried to keep up with EERS and Brosif on cold tires. That was a really remarkable push by you.

Got intense with Brosif toward the end. Sorry you lost it like that on that hairpin Plate, that turn was really tough to get through most of the time in the triple.
Yes I just came up with my nickname for these cars. You can call them 111R but I'm gonna call it the triple. Triple R for the distasteful.

I really need to find a tune that'll be more stable on exits 'cause you could probably tell by following behind me that I wasn't the most confident picking up the throttle, I kept thinking to myself, " Power band, power band's crazy omg I'm gonna crash if I put more gas on... nn, nn ok I'm good" <- and that was every turn.

My best lap was a 54.613.

Anyway, again, great race, really fun cars to run. Thanks to Mule for putting it together.

P.S: I streamed the race and arhived it so you can watch the whole thing here -

A fun race, even though I got shuffled back quite a bit, and called an audible to make a 2-stop race which didn't work for me.

Great race everyone! If the rest of the races are as good as this one, we'll have a great season on our hands 👍

Also a side note, I changed by car colour to the lavender I used on my Integra in the IWC, as the colour I was running before was to close to EERS4YEARS colour for my liking. I think from now on lavender will be my "official" racing colour :dopey:

lol, I just noticed that the battle between me and Brosif was pretty much Poton Lotus Vs. Group Lotus. If you don't follow F1, that's me in the Renault Lotus and Brosif in the AirAsia Lotus.

Damnit, Wardez. You stole my caption idea for the pic I was going to take.

"Team Lotus vs. Group Lotus!"

I see that the sign up list is full, so is there any way I can participate in the championship or am I too late? I know there is no waiting list, but I dont want to just jump in out of nowhere and steal someone's spot!

AMAZING finish, Wardez! Those final laps were some the the best racing I've seen in GT5. Can't wait to participate next week.

It says in the first post, that we'll always be accepting new entries ;)

Hey thanks Wardez. Just glad I didn't chunk the first turn, first lap. It was crazy how no one could pull away when they got out front. I know there was many times I could have passed you, but I didn't feel like pushing the issue. Plus that would've just brought more people into the mix out front while we're battling for position(guess it didn't matter, Brosif and EERS was there after pit stops). I was just trying to keep it clean and not put myself into too many hairy situations.

I believe my fast lap was a 54.8xx. How about EErs, I think he had a 54.1xx. Where the 🤬 did that come from? Is that even human? I know theres a bit of a draft, but jeez. Well done man:tup:

Ya, the only noticeable mistake I made whole race and I paid big time for it. Just a bit too aggressive with throttle. I was pushin so hard the last 5 laps. I fell about 2.5s back and made it back to 0.8s at finish line. I can't complain though. All in all, it was an awesome race from my perspective.

I have a decent set-up, but this car will always have to be respected when putting the throttle down. I believe I did have a bit more drive out of the corners than you, but ultimately it didn't matter.

I watched the replay a bit from different cars and man am I glad I wasn't in the 4th to 8th in the first 15-20 laps. It was a hornets nest in there.

Ready for Suzuka!!

It'll be even harder when we're on the faster tracks and there's more of a draft.

Thanks dude! 👍 I nailed a few laps, and around mid race i picked up a couple hp and that helped for sure. Honestly any lap below 55.0 is pretty bad arse. Also, great job to the top 3. 👍

And I look forward to Suzuka, too. It is probably the best test for driver and setup in GT5, and is always a great place to race.

  1. This was a divebomb on syjones1's part, not EERS4YEARS. What you failed to mention was the hip check you gave EERS4YEARS a few turns before that would have wrecked most drivers were it not for his quick reactions.
  2. EERS4YEARS move was a bit ambitious but you maintained your position so no harm no foul.
  3. This move was a quite nasty on EERS4YEARS part and you did a good job saving the car. He should have backed off and let you pull ahead through Dunlop. HOWEVER, your punt job a few turns later going into the last hairpin was a huge douche move and retaliation such as that is not only childish but inexcuseable. You absolutely overreacted and acting on anger is never a good idea.
  4. At this point all shots were fair game, in my opinion, and you are lucky he didn't put you in a similar fashion as you did previously.

Overall, there were some pretty optimistic maneuvers attempted by people running P5-P9 from laps 4 to 12 but you were dishing it out as much as you were taking it so who are you to complain???

Just my $0.02.

I sent Dapper a PM, I am trying to resolve this. The "hip check" earlier was an accident, I tried to get on the track cleanly but sand and RWD + high torque dont mix that well together. I wasn't aiming for anyone and didn't realise I hit EERS until the replay. The hit where I pushed EERS wide was not what I intended. I wanted to bump draft him so he alone would be going into the turn faster then normal not push him going into the turn. I was using the bumper cam so I was expecting the turn to come a bit later then it did as I could hardly see the track because his bumper was blocking my view. You would see that as soon as he braked, I tried to brake as fast as humanly possible right away. It was the in the heat of the moment and for that second I forgot about the physics of drafting. I didn't slow down to let him continue because earlier in the lap he spun me out and took my spot.

Anyways, we are talking it over now so sorry for making this public.

Sooooo glad I was in 3rd for that period of time :)

Considering what real life drivers would've done, see Vickers punt on Stewart yesterday (at around the same time coincidentally), and I think everything I did was executed almost perfectly... minus the loss of concentration/fly off the track near the end of the race.

Sorry guys, my great-grandfather had a heart attack.
Sorry to hear that. Hope he's feeling better. :(

Well, I tried to get as far up the standings as I could given where I started the race but a loss of control and a encounter with the wall on drivers right out of Turn 1 put a early crimp into my racing plans. As we went along, I was thinking maybe a single stop strategy past the half-way mark will leave me with more tire to use for the second half of the race. but after I pitted, I saw that I as a lap down from the leaders. This made me wonder if they did a pit stop as well. I shoulfd have figured I should be used to the handling of the 111R RM by now as I have used the 111R for the British Lightweights Seasonal event at Tsukuba earlier in the week.

:idea:As for Suzuka, maybe before the race we can do a 'class photo' before the race with the field lined up in the order they qualified against the wall in front of the pits like they do for the motorcycles before the start of the Suzuka 8 Hours race? I'm thinking this would be a good banner photo for our series. ;)
