Under the WSGTC (Click Here!) Banner...

Since i am not able to compete in WSGTC due to schedule conflicts, i thought of starting up another series.
V8 supercars? But there's only 1 V8 supercar in GT5! ...now hold your horses! (Pun intended, hah! )!

Which cars we'll be using?

2010 NASCARS!​

Car Specs?

The horsepower will be tuned down at 50% (power limiter). Weight will be stock.

Before Tuning with break-in and oil change: 892 hp | 1565 kg | 632 pp
After Tuning with break-in and oil change: 446 hp | 1565 kg | 545 pp​

Why the lower Specs?

The slower the speed, the better the racing!​

Tracks?

Strictly Road Course Racing! None of them ovals..... okay, maybe for non-points special events​

When?

Mondays or Wednesdays - 7.00 pm GMT | 8.00 pm London | 12.00 noon Los Angeles | 3.00 pm New York (not firm - TBD)​

Prizes?

Cars and/or GTPlanet Forum Premium Memberships​

Sounds interesting, especially using downtuned Nascars as V8 Supercars 👍 Would love to get in on this, but not sure about the 10pm GMT start time.

I miscalculated the conversion, it's actually (7.00 pm GMT?) 8.00 pm London time, give or take. Still not firm.

Honestly confused by time zones these days, but I would be able to make either of those times as long as races are on mundays, because I just love muuuuundays.

I'd be up for this. 👍 Had a little go earlier in a NASCAR with 50% power limiter and it was pretty fun. The car handles very well because of it's 50/70 downforce.

Only thing I'd say is the name of the championship doesn't exactly give any hints of it using NASCARs.

@ Tom - No driving aids allowed

@ Biffy - You mean 'I hate mondays!' and you use the PS3 to channel that out of your system

@ Aderrrm - Awesome. Although the PP i have on the OP is with Aero all the way down. Why you may ask? Well, there seems to be a bit of evidence that the draft is reduced if the car in-front of you has lower down-force. Nothing is final though, but we'll see about it.

Surely the Falcon XR8 and the Camaro SS RM would be better, no?

A Camaro RM is pretty much a Holden Commadore in my opinion.

Anyways, for that to work you have to go down the downforce limit route etc. Nascar's are easier to manage.

Will there be a rolling start?

Downforce is tuned all the way down.

And yes, there will be rolling starts 👍

I would be willing to host this. I've got a support site ready. But the power/weight should match the real V8 supercar series. 600HP cant remember the weight.

Weight is somewhere around 1200kg i believe which the NASCARS are off by about 350kg. Not sure about raising the HP rate further, but then again, nothing is final yet.
