Did I read right? The handbrake is only XBOX compatible?

I think as far as consoles go yes, for now anyways. As far as PC's, I believe there's already handbrakes on the market from FREX and the like. I could be wrong there, I don't race on PC yet. Have to build a gaming rig for it first, my HP notebook might explode if I tried playing anything while hooked up to an external monitor of any size.

Ah a new week...

This one should be interesting, hopefully with some Fanatec news and "Tokyo Games Show" bringing more info on FM4.

All they have to do is map it to a button when connected to the PS3. More likely than not, games will need a patch for it to fully work... good luck with that.

They showed the Gt wheel and another wheel designed by Audi I hope its for CSW can anyone correct me if I'm wrong.
I shouldn't say better because it really depends on what real cars you fancy. Some people love Ford while others fancy Ferrari and yet others take a liking to Porsche. I for one am looking forward to what they have chosen to use as it fancy's my love of that brand of car.

Is it Lamborghini? Lol wish they stick with Porsche

It wont be Porsche because for political reasons the only games allowed to have Porsche cars are the crap-fests that EA put out every year or so. With that in mind I cant see Fanatec putting out a new Porsche branded anything at this point in time.

Actually I should say that the lack of Porsche issue only definitely applies to consoles. PC games I really wouldn't know, I know R-Factor 2 is supposed to be coming in the relatively near future and it may or may not get Porsche licenses.

@Brock1Samson9

License to make Porsche branded gaming peripherals and license to make Porsche cars for games are two totally different things.

It was not a surprise. And it was not really hard to guess as they have the Ferrari license and made the T500RS suitable for future upgrades.

It is a great looking wheel rim which looks very similar to the real thing so congratulation to Thrustmaster for that!

But I don't consider it as direct competition as our wheels follow a different concept and target group.

Hi Thomas and Fanatec,

This is a very humble response and to be honest, I still am anticipating the CSR-E/CSW range of wheels even though I already have a T500RS.

Keep up the good work. :)

Honestly, I am hoping for a non-branded one...

I think that the GT Wheel is supposed to be non-branded, much like the F1 Wheel Rim. It'll have a Painted F for Fanatec on it I'm betting.

If they did license it however, I would much rather it be a Sparco Wheel, rather than any manufacturer.

Been looking over the recent videos again...

Twin Motors =
Stonger
Faster
Smoother

That's what I'm looking forward to! :D

Yes obviously. But a production car licensed rim would have a larger following with console gamers where production cars are a more focused part of the game, whereas most PC sims are all about race cars. If the only console based race sims dont even have Porsche cars then nobody is going to bother making a Porsche branded rim.

It's not a generic non-branded wheel and it's not a Sparco/MOMO etc. It is a car based manufacture licensed rim. 👍
It's not Lamborghinni BTW :)

Im wondering who you are to be able to make these fact like statements..
I dont want to bully you or anytyhing; its just that we've had a lot of people stating things as if they were facts here..

You work for Fanatec?

You might as well start thinking of car brands that havnt been mentioned.
He obviously knows or is just letting on to know but wants to tease.

So what about?
Aston Martin
Mercedes
BMW

I think you people should start looking more closely. FMW knows more, because he has done more thorough research. Don't just look the wheel shape, but also where the buttons are located.

Based on shape and button placement it reminds me a lot of an E92 M3 GT2 racing car wheel. And for the record, I'd be all over that.

Curious to know if the wheels (CSW) themselves have a memory. Say im racing with a roadcar with the gt wheel and want to switch to an f1 car/wheel combo. Will the settings i program into the f1 wheel auto upload to the base or will we still be only able to use the 5 programmable.settings like we have now.

In short. Are the user settings going to be stored in the base unit electronics or the wheel rim electronics?

Why else would Fanatec buy the license ?

Scotty

Thats somehing I can really figure out either... look at their F1 wheel and the CSR and CSR elite... they seem to have a pretty good design department so why buy licenses that will increase the products price and have little to none advantages for the user IMO...
