Welcome to Mistrial Mountain Tunes! Here I'll be posting the tunes I've developed. I have no credentials and claim no special expertise, but with some experimentation I've managed to come up with some tunes that pleasantly surprised me. Hopefully they'll do the same for you.

I make no guarantees that these are the fastest tunes for any car. My goal was to just have fun with cars. Many of these tunes intentionally avoid going for max PP where more power or lower weight made the car less fun to drive.

RUF BTR '86 - 500 PP Fun Drive Tune
Audi S4 '03 - 540PP "Max" Tune
Jaguar E-Type Coupe '61 - 475PP Vintage Racing Tune
Toyota 2000GT '67 - 375PP "Slow Ride" Tune
Amuse NISMO 380RS Super Leggera - 575PP "Giant Monsters All-Out Attack" Tune
Shelby GT350R '65 - 475PP "Bullitt to the Brain" Tune
RUF RGT '00 - 552PP "Easy Button" Tune
Chevrolet Corvette Convertible (C3) '69 - 540PP "Red Rocket" Tune
Chevrolet Camaro Z28 '69 - 550PP 'Ring Tune
RUF CTR2 '96 - 554PP Tune
Honda S2000 '06 - 450PP 1st Annual Fall Roadster Battle entry
Lotus Esprit V8 '02 - 550PP Tune
Audi Avant RS6 '08 - 550PP "Tons of Fun" shootout tune
Lamborgini Miura P400 Bertone Prototype CN.0706 '67 - 549PP Tune
Mazda Roadster RS (NC) '07 - 400PP Nordschleife Shootout Tune

Notes:

-All tunes were done on a DS3.
-Trial Mountain is my primary test track but I also use others.
-I use the adjustable transmission as little as possible because I dislike the noise.
-I typically don't add aero in GT Auto unless it doesn't ruin the look of the car.
-All PP numbers are approximate, I can't promise I changed the oil right before looking at the PP rating. :P

The CTR Yellowbird's (marginally) more sane older brother, the BTR drives like a Yellowbird with more rear grip...but not enough more to keep it from still driving like a tail-heavy burnout machine. This tune tones it down a notch, making the power oversteer and braking oversteer feel more like "features" and less like "OH CRAP OH CRAP I GONNA DIE."

Update: I've tested this online, and if anything it's better than it is offline. It loves to turn but is still very easy to control.

My first "serious" tuning effort. Something about the feel of this car on the stock suspension drove me completely nuts, so I set out to fix it. I'm pretty happy with the results - there is no getting around the fact that it's a fairly heavy 4 door car, but it's a lot more fun to throw around corners now. Kudos to XDesperado67 for helping me sort it out.

Just tested it online with Spec 2.0, and it's another tune that's better online than offline in spite of being developed offline.

More fun than a barrel of monkeys, this car was a very pleasant surprise. Unmodified it was kind of on the twitchy side but it was very easy to make it a very controllable ride. There is certainly no topping it for class.

Ever find yourself needing a slow car? Oddly enough, I did, and this is what I whipped up. It might have a top speed of 130 MPH with a tail wind but it was a blast anyway.

When I drove this car stock I thought it was pure junk. It spun out randomly while taking gradual corners and just seemed hopeless. My first attempts to tune it into something useful just made it worse. Then I had a brainstorm and came up with this. You never quite get over the feeling that it's riding on glorified bicycle wheels but it's much better now. Honest!

The RGT is a great car out of the box, and aside from the CTR2 is the last RUF that needs ballast. But I used some anyway for reasons I don't even remember really, and the result is a car that is just stupidly easy to use.

UPDATE: I've pretty thoroughly overhauled this tune after the Spec 2.0 update and it's much better to drive. Either Spec 2.0 changed a ton or this tune was bass-ackwards to start with, but I'm happy with it now.

A very, very great job. You are now one of my favorit tuners.

Notes:

Online and offline tunes are very similar in "feel", though you'll need to be more careful with the throttle online, especially when the tires are cold.

I didn't want to add the rear wing, but without some downforce the rear end of the car will tend to float away on you on faster tracks.

Tuning this was a challenge because the online and offline behavior are very different. Offline the car has endless grip but understeers like a dump truck; online it wanted to swing its back end out without any provocation. After some trial and error I was able to make it handle well in both scenarios. I'm really happy with this one.

Notes:

This is my entry for the 1st Annual Fall Roadster Battle. It was tuned specifically for the Autumn Ring track and the rules of the competition. I had a lot of fun with this since I had zero experience even driving an S2000, have spent almost no time driving on the Autumn Ring track and never tune for sport medium tires. The S2000 started out as a tail-happy burnout mobile but is quite fun and controllable now.

Updated roadster shootout entry with current settings for the car being shared with the test drivers in the contest.

Well, the Fall Roadster Shootout is done. My S2000 came in #5 in the time attack and got 2 Driver's Choice votes, along with 5 votes in the photo poll.

Some comments from the test drivers:

Onboy123
Sean10mm's Honda S2000- 1:25.481
Good fun. Rotates very well off throttle and when you brake. Plenty of grip and go when you need it, will happily pull gentle slides when you don't. Also earns a place on the podium as one of the fastest S2000s entered.

XDesperado67
Sean10mm Honda S2000 '06 Time=1:27.702
Well this is the most fun and easiest S2000 for ole Harvey Wallbanger here to drive.

Rallywagon
sean10mm
Honda s2000 06
Best lap: 1:27.911

Ride: These hondas are amazing! This cars brakes are amazing! I could brake so late, and I swear with a few more laps I could really get the best time with this car, it felt great, engine and trans went well with the track, suspension was tight and as i like to say, balanced and neutral. I dont think I could get the wheels into the red without doing a serious drift. Good job.

Overall Impression: These hondas are impressing me. This one is one of the top examples. The looks make a statement, without the need of sunglasses, and the ride bites as well as the looks bark.

This is my entry for the "Tons of Fun" tuner shootout. Note that this contest actually REWARDS a car for being heavy, so there is intentionally no weight reduction at all.

Don't suppose you want a test driver? I'm available to drive what you want :)

I'm probably not going to be doing any new tunes for a while. I'm happy to hear any feedback about the ones I've already done though, I'm always looking for ways to improve them.

Some early results from the Tons of Fun tuner shootout:

sean10mm Audi RS6 Avant '08: Smooth is the best term to describe this car. It is an absolute joy to drive just flowing around the track whether it's the tight streets of London or the open roads of Monza. As good as this car is it made me wonder why sean10mm didn't go all in on the power, and the only conclusion I can make, after a quick couple of laps on both tracks, with the sports ECU and High RPM turbo fitted, is he wanted to match classes commonly found online. No matter though as this is most assuredly my pick as the best driving car in this group.:gtpflag: Drivers Choice 1st

:)
