WARNING: Car Selection Due Monday, January 9th. Please PM them to me!

*CURRENT STANDINGS*

For those of you who do not know, v5.0 is our fifth installment of the increasingly popular LeMons to LeMans series. This will be run on Wednesday's on either a weekly, or every two week schedule depending on what racer's choose. This season we're wiping the slate clean with a new set of rules and guidelines, and for the first time we're having a group of fellow GTP member's pitching in to make this series more user friendly, and easier to run. (Would like to say thanks for that IKEA Elite!)

Rules (So Far):

-350PP <-- Car MUST be broken in with no upgrades other than performance modifications. No Engine Limiting! Aero, Suspension, Drivetrain, etc. Not Allowed! UNTIL AFTER FIRST RACE.

-Ballast not allowed until after first SEASON race. <-- Ballast is not allowed to be used until after the first race to prevent people from cheating the 350pp rule.
-Car must have been manufactured in or before 2002 <-- 2002 models allowed, no newer vehicles.

-First two races will be run on Comfort Mediums <-- We will now run tires on a two race schedule to prevent being on Racing tires at the end of the season.

-Aftermarket wheels allowed <-- With the 2.02 patch from PD, you can now install aftermarket wheels on standard models. We encourage you change them, because we like to have variety in our races!

-Points given for leading lap<-- This will be harder for the hosts to keep up with, so we're asking for a trust factor between us and the drivers. This will add an interesting factor to our series.

-Parts and their price will change<-- Over the past few seasons, we've had an issue with people not choosing N/A car's due to the price of an engine upgrade. This season we're altering the price of each engine upgrade and turbo, to make the car choices more fair and add some variety.

ENGINE TUNING 1- 1000
ENGINE TUNING 2- 3000
ENGINE TUNING 3- 6000

LOW RANGE TURBO- 3500
MID RANGE TURBO- 6000

Thanks so much for running with me guys, I've enjoyed the 450 rooms, all the spec racing, everything, just been an absolute blast! 👍

I'm looking for a couple cars like last season guys, another Karhmann Ghia, Honda beat (the mid engine one), 65 Silvia, if you've got one let me know.

The Beat is kinda like the Autozam. Although it is a mid-engine, the wheelbase is too short for it to be of much use. I drove it on our Keicar night a while back and wasn't very impressed. I don't think I have one without parts on it.

EDIT:
BTW, we are likely to see a lot more pitting this season. Tire wear is over exaggerated. Might not affect the comfort tires that much, but we may have people opting for harder compound sports tires later in the season so they can run more laps.

Yes I know, I actually prefer it's small wheelbase. If not that, the rear engine layout on the ghia is good too.

Yes, I noticed this the other night, which is why I chose a two race per compound schedule. Should make it easier for racers to adjust to the compounds and get a better reading on their cars. I'm considering adding a point value for anyone who starts the race on a harder compound all the way around.

I'm interested. The car should be 350pp max stock? Do you have an idea of a schedule?

Yes, the car MAY be modded up to a max of 350pp AFTER both chassis/engine rebuild and if it was a new car, it must be fully broken in (200 miles on odometer). But you may only purchase performance upgrades like an Air Filter or turbo. Not suspension, or clutches, etc.

wednesday night? same time as usual?

i'm in for this!!

do you have a rough estimate when you'd like the season to begin?

Yep, Wednesday at 9 Eastern, 8 CST. Glad you could join morbo!

Season start:
I'm thinking January 4th or January 11th, as for the schedule, I'd like for you all to post some courses you would like to run. I want to do a 7 race schedule, which means we would start on CM and end on SM, or we will do softs to softs. It's up to you all. If someone would like to propose we run a DLC track, I don't have a problem with it, except Spa is a tad long if we crash. We raced Nurb which was a nightmare for those who wrecked.

I suggest the 11th, which would leave plenty of time to test after the holidays which is why I think we're down on entries.

esh
I am in.

Also, I use a G27. Are there restrictions on using clutch?

I know some people don't like having a clutch because you can save fuel, but I have no problem with it at all. I wished I could map one with controller, but I can shift early, let off, etc.

If others see a problem with it, let me know. Just remember that a controller has the ability to go lock to lock in .3 of a second while a wheel can do it in a second or more. It evens out.

Hey guys, is there any car choices that are sort of mid-pack/front competition? Just asking because I don't know what's too good and sorta bad at this pp range. So far I've got an Isuzu 117coupe at 344pp with 6.6 miles.

Benz that's actually an excellent car for it. The prius is a freak of nature at 1.27, it won't be fast for the rest of the season. I have a ghia at mid to high 1.28's and that's about as fast as I feel the field will be.

Try:
65' Silvia
Anything FWD that's NOT a kei car
A honda beat (1.28.9-1.29.5)

It's more luck of the draw really, if you can find a miata at 338-339 you should be able to refresh it to exactly 350. But that's a lucky find.

Tell me some tracks!

I have a miata at 350 ;). Thought it was a "too good" car though.

How about a Nissan Bluebird 1800SSS? I'm @ about 345PP after ~40 miles and with anymore upgrades I get to 349. It's a zero mile car so if I use one of those upgrades I will definitely be over 350 once the car is broken in. Can we use the limiter to get back to 350 or is the point to not use limiter?

The points not to use the limiter, I think I have a used stock one that you can have. That or it's at 345 broken in

As for being too good, I prefer a challenge, if you want to use it, knock it out.

I'm confused.

Is there a hard cap at 350pp for the duration of the series ?

Or do we build the car up during the series using the funds we earn in the series with the car starting at or under 350pp at the beginning of the series ?

We start at 350pp. Then using money from positions where you finish in the race, you upgrade the car. There is no max pp after the first race, because you could upgrade your car with the money you revive during the races.

Yep, dabney is our host this season, because he has an epic connection, so I'd like to thank him for that

Tried resetting my Silvia this morning with one of those car refresh coupons that CLEARLY state in the description all parts, rims, paint, etc will be removed but the game stated that all of that stuff would be KEPT once applied. Makes sense. :boggled:

LMAO. If you want I can send you mine tonight, it's at 348 but it's about the fastest car I've tested other than the cheater car prius.

I haven't bought the DLC yet...but if the interest is overwhelming I suppose I could suck it up. I was holding out for a discount track pack.

I suggest using the 4th as a pre-season race. I don't think I will have much time to try cars out until next week and that doesn't give me much prep time.

As for track selection, I'd like to see some more variety. Stuff we don't usually run.
