CORE GT SEASON 2 Update

Without changing too much and losing it's identity, I have a few 'tweaks' I'm adding to the TRIDENT GT for Season 2.

These are - Point System and Layout.

Point System.
The new points system will be the CDP, or CORE Dynamic Points. This takes into account not only individuals ability during Qualifying, but also how 'hard' each race becomes due to the numbers on track. So however many drivers are racing, this determines the maximum points for 1st, then each position down receives 1 point less. Penalties are now clearly defined too - see page 1 for details.

Layout.
The layout will still have a trident theme of '3', but as the first season ran for 16 events, I have decided to break this up with 3 blocks of 3 events up with the newly titled T.S.R. (Trident Special Race) - this will take place every forth event and will consist of a slightly longer race which will roughly last the length of our normal race meets, something to test our concerntration, tyre/fuel managment ability and to run a slightly shorter season of 9 Tridents with 3 T.S.R's giving us a total of 12 events per season instead of 16.

I'll be working on the first batch of races over the crimbo period, and will have page 1 updated sometime next week.

Looking forward to Season 2, this weeks ZC and the new SC too! 👍

I like the points system Omnius, it is similar to the one I went for in the SC. I think that by rewarding everyone with points for racing will keep the championship tight. Good work.

Nice changes, although I may have 2 constructive remarks.

- with these rules people may get half points (or smaller fractions)
- 1 pt for last will not encourage people to participate if they feel they will not do well.

If its a penalty the number will always be rounded down, if it's because of disconnection it will be rounded up.

1 point for last should work in favour of those who want to race, as if you sit out, no points, if you think people will just not get involved because they are to get 1 point, I say let them, as this will then benefit those who want to race even if it means coming a place or two above

Done, both you and Omnius are on the blog as stewards, and trust you to mess up my spreadsheet table by choosing a red car with red wheels.

Assassin and myself do most of final assembly, which is all body panels, interior and fluids. We wont be sad to get our teeth into something new, as this car is a pig to build. Roll on 2012.👍

As there is no Trident event tonight, I was going to have a bit of practice for next weeks Zero Cup about 8.00pm tonight, and then after maybe a bit of a taster for next years Sunday Cup with a short 10 lap race in the 96 Elise RM.

Your Lounge? I've had a few drinks, and probably over the limit, but what the hell! I'll be there!

Cool, I have posted also in Warrius blog and will send out messages on PSN. Yeah, in my lounge.

Not sure if its just my love of collecting cars, but even though we were 'short changed' with the 'Standard' cars compared to GT4.

Since the wheel changing has returned, not only have I been through my collection and 'sorted' most of them, but I'm now looking forward to not only using them more, but also finding my favourites from the past - one's which I didn't bother buying due to their poor default wheels!!!

Its something where you can improve the look of a car just by simply changing the wheels...thus making it more desirable 👍

So have any of you been bitten by the wheel changing bug? To finally dust off that old favourite, now you can personalise its look?

Couple of favourite Standards...

Lotus Carlton - Unmodified apart from a Sports Exhaust and gold rims (Loved my Vauxhalls back in the day, not so much now)

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo V - Full racing tune with all parts apart from any turbo upgrades. Default rims but car painted a rather nice dark metallic green!

Volvo S60 T-5 Sport - Sport Softs, Rim change and full Race Suspension and Exhaust mods only!

Also hated driving standards coz they looked daft with their, er, standard wheels... I owned an Ibiza few years back so I made the Cupra in GT4 as similar as possible - painted grey and then rolling on RS4 Avant wheels. Loved how you could put wheels from other makes on a car! Very much the bug with RL cars at the minute with VWs riding round on AMG or Porsche wheels.

Have since hoked my Cupra out in GT5 and put a set of decent wheels on, took a few fotos and even photoshopped my old number plate on to it lol! Also, the Supra RZ, the Evo 8 (which is just beautiful, but the standard wheels ruined it for me), the Accord Euro-R, the Jag S-Type R, and forgive me - the Shelby GT350. I just think its one of the classics that can get away with a set of tuner 5-spokes...

Next on my list is the early-to-mid 2000s Civic, a few Imprezas, and a few BMWs. One of my few gripes is that we can't choose the size of wheels - I'd love to have a Tacoma or Dodge Laramie on like 22s lol! Then they would look how they should. Them tea saucers look lost inside the big wheel arches...

At parents today for a wee celebration with my sister, her husband and their 4 kids....

The PS1 was found and the original GT was loaded up....OM frickin G!!!!

It was sooooo different compared to the modern game.

Cornering was a challenge, it may have been the drink, overtaking was near impossible, it may have been the drink, the cars and the tracks looked ****e, it may have been the drink....

.....****s sake what am I drinking nowadays....!!!

Still, it was the game that started it off, prehaps it worked then because there was nothing like it...

Nostalgia is never as good as you remember is it!? Good times though!

I may do things a bit differently this time around.... Instead of me normally hammering home the second I get out of work on a Friday evening shift to catch the 2nd and 3rd races, I'll probably not attend them weeks, if that's ok. It's making me cut corners in my work just to get out prompt as I don't like to keep you guys waiting. It's evening shift this week so I'll plan to be back next week.

Will be trying to make more of a show in Zero Cup as well and then of course the Sunday Cup starting this year too.
