Season 1's thread
Season 2's thread

This racing series will replicate the 2011 season of GT4 Cup as best as possible. This season we have collaborated with PUre Racing Evolution (PURE) to provide you with the most exciting racing possible. Clean and fair racing is a requirement if you are to participate in this series and if you haven't already, please read the GTP OLR rules.

News Board:

Race times:

This series will race on a Saturday starting at 16:30 GMT (BST after Monza) and lasting for around 75 minutes. Click here for the time in your timezone.

-----

Regulations:

Tyres: Racing Hards
Traction Control: OFF
Active Steering: OFF
Skid Recovery Force: OFF
ASM: OFF
Driving Line: OFF
ABS: Optional

Grip Reduction of Wet Track/Edge: Real
Damage: Light
Visual Damage: OFF

Race Length*: 40 minutes of racing, with 1 mandatory pit stop within a certain lap-to-lap window.

*Laps will be given before each race. This amount of laps will roughly equate to 40 minutes of racing + 1 lap. The pits will be open for a certain amount of laps (the amount closest to 10 minutes). The lap at which the pit opens and closes will be specified before each race in the Race Information.

Qualifying:
  • Qualifying for each race will be a 4 lap race consisting of 1 warm up lap, 2 flying laps and a cool down lap. Your fastest lap of the 2 counts.
  • Use of track is detailed at the bottom of this post, as well as in the GTP OLR rules. A dirty lap will result in a 2% time penalty.
  • Only myself, Series Stewards and Official PURE stewards may view and verify a driver's lap. (Series stewards are listed in the sign-up list in post 2, official PURE stewards are listed in this thread)
  • Post in the thread when you are ready to qualify, and a steward will then create a room and watch you qualify.
  • More than 1 driver may qualify at one time, as long as a 30 second gap to the driver ahead is given.
  • Qualifying for the following race will begin Sunday. Qualifying deadline is Saturday 15:00 GMT. If you qualify after this time, you will receive a 2% time penalty. If you have not qualified but still want to race, you will start at the back of the grid in Division 2.
  • The fastest 12 times will make up Division 1. The next fastest 12 times will make up Division 2. Times are recorded HERE.

Race Day Procedure:
At 16:30 GMT, the room will open. Practice (free run) will be held for 25 minutes. PP, power and weight checks will then be performed. The grid will have been decided in the weekly run up to the Race and will be ordered by lining up in the correct order on track once the track has been reset.

Formation lap:
Cars will drive at 62mph/100kmh in a staggered formation. The front end of a car shouldn't pass the back end of the car in front (whether the car in front is to your left or right). Weaving on the formation lap is disallowed.

The pole position car will start the formation lap on the side of the grid the game places them on. It is up to the pole position car to determine when to start the race (and therefore exceed 62mph) and should do so within appropiate distance of the start/finish line, and not as soon as he turns on to the straight. Time must be given to the cars behind to exit out of the final corner. You should not overtake the car in front before crossing the start/finish line.

-----

Cars and Teams:

  • There will be 12 teams of 2 (despite some teams only having 1 driver in the actual 2011 season).
  • 10 teams have been put together replicating real life teams. There will also be 2 custom teams using any car but the Vantage, Evora and M3.
  • Reserve drivers may use any car in any sensible colour as they will not be part of a team, and may race if a spot is open. If a full-time driver drops out, the most committed reserve driver will take their spot.
  • You must pick 1 car and stick with it through the whole season.
  • Since there are no locked-in divisions, you may team up with a slower driver who may end up in division 2 (in fact this is encouraged).
  • You must apply the exact aero parts (including rear wings) and wheel design as listed for each car. This is to keep the cars authentic to their real life counter parts.
  • You must apply the exact colour paint as listed, for body and wheels (I have extras for people who don't own the paint for their team).
  • You must apply the exact performance parts as listed for each car. You cannot reach the given BHP in other ways e.g. adding a turbo instead of a sports ECU.
  • You cannot add parts in order to make up for lost BHP because your engine is not fully broken in. Your engine will be fully broken in after 187 miles/300 km of driving.

Rear wings: The Vantage is the only car without a rear wing, but copes the best out of them all without one. All PP figures are given with maximum downforce (20). If you choose to decrease the downforce, you cannot increase the power or decrease the weight of the car to make up for the lost downforce.

Mods which must be installed to all cars:
  • Fully Customisable Transmission
  • Fully Customisable Suspension
  • All drivetrain upgrades (twin-plate clutch, LSD etc)

You can oil change, overhaul your engine and restore your car's rigidity as many time as you like. Rigidity Improvement is optional.

Race Calendar:

Click for race information (must read before the race, and quali if possible).

Pre-season: Nurburgring GP/D – 18th February > RESULTS | D1 Battle for 1st | D1 Battle for 4th | D2 Battle for 2nd (Videos)

  • Round 1 of the GT4 Cup started in the Netherlands at Zandvoort and finished at Zandvoort for round 6. We'll be doing the same with Germany's GP course Nurburgring for the first pre-season race, with a slight change to the configuration for round 6.
  • Classic start at Rome for round 1, in typical GT4 Cup style.
  • Bronzestone is a custom track made by myself and in my opinion is a Silverstone look alike! Any changes can be made to the track in the run up to the race, as suggested by the drivers. The track is on my share.

-----

Use of Track and Penalties:

All drivers must read and follow the GTP OLR rules.

Penalties: A time penalty can be given of up to 30 seconds for a range of offences in Qualifying and the Race and will depend on the severity of your actions.

Weaving on formation lap: warning+
Crossing the start/finish line before the car in front on the formation lap: 5 seconds.
Pitting outside the pit window: 10 seconds.
Crossing the pit exit line: warning+
Running wide/corner cutting too many times: 5 seconds+
Causing an avoidable collision: 5 seconds+

It shows good racing etiquette to wait up for the driver you was just in a collision with, even if you didn't think it was your fault entirely.

Please PM me or any of the PURE Officials about any race incidents.

Use of Track:
  • 2 Wheels must be touching what is deemed as "track" at all times! Red+white rumble strips are classed as track. Green concrete/astroturf and run-off areas are not.
  • No contact must be made with walls or track boundaries (especially at Rome, Madrid and Monaco).
  • You will only be given a penalty if you gained time from either driving off track or touching the barriers, and not if you lost time. There is an exception to this rule which states you cannot use the barrier as you're normal racing line, regardless of whether you gain time from doing so.
  • Uncertain dirty areas of a track will be explained through pictures from in-game showing what is clean and what is dirty before each race in the Race Information.

If you have any further queries about what parts of a track are dirty, then please ask.

Thanks to R1600Turbo for the awesome logo. Thanks to PURE for supporting the GT4 Cup.

Driver Results and Standings:

There will be 2 points systems. The first points system is used by the FIA and will determine the Official driver and team standings, eventually determining the champion and team champions. A second, similar points system will be used to determine the Series driver and team standings, so lower drivers can compare their results with higher drivers after so many rounds.

Oh ok I see now why you needed me to find the team name for the gray BMW :sly:.

What scares me I know your great at equalising cars (WSGTC Gt300) but you sure the Aston can hang without a spoiler?

Btw expect RT (If he signs up) to go for RJN since after his ventures in US GT Academy im sure he has been Nissanised .

Nice custom track is Silverstone-ish (Someones trying to practice for GT Academy :sly:)

Stop making me edit in more questions, is the "Special" track RTs mini nords?

:D

Yep the Aston can compete. Going through Eau Rouge with a car without downforce is a scary thing, and I found out of a handful of these cars with their rear wings removed, the Aston was the most stable, which is all really what the rear wing provides. I'll be testing all cars again at Rome tomorrow on long stints. The car specs might change a slight bit.

The answer to what track round 3.5 is, is in the thread. But I'm not saying anything yet. :)

Now all that needs to be worked out is what time you want the room to open? 16:30 or 17:00 That means race start at 17:00 or 17:30, lasting for around 45 minutes.

One question spec'ed all the cars but the Z seems excessively off 11bhp without run in, im sure im missing something but ive got all the parts on it :odd:.

Buying a new one to confirm if I drove it (Testing for RTs spot race with S2 specs) before oiling it .

Also Corvette wheels "paint these....." silver :P.

Ah it was the exhaust manifold I was missing ;).

Yay. I helped :), now to get some laps in at GP/D :D.

Also under Ekris BMW you need a [/I] ;).

Yeah right ;), not to mention RJN is the team who run the GT Academy drivers :P. (Who Adam will be working with very shortly :sly:)

Before I went to GT Academy, I owned:

- 1998 Nissan 200SX SE-R
- 2000 Nissan Sentra SE
- 1992 Nissan Sentra SE-R
- 1994 Nissan Sentra SE-R

So there! :P

This is going to be a blast! Like the team idea, and it's hard not to look at that red Lotus.. so that's my car.

Also great to see you racing again Adam.. even if you do resume your dominating streak :P

I was testing but randomly DCed from my own lounge :irked:, atleast up till then the cars I tested were only .3 apart at GP/D :D. (One was Aston ;))

And ok RT ill buy your story :P.

Added. Yeah although it would look better if we had some basic liveries to work with... which you would expect when you hear GT5 is going to have better customisation. :ouch:

Thanks Biffy. :)

My times are no doubt slow though only doing 33.5s at best with them un run in.

nice one here, i like this !
What i don´t like are the racing times :-(

Is there not any other way to change racing times? e.g division two ?

This is filled with epicness!! Cant wait. That Evora looks gorgeous and so does the M3. I was going to pick the Aston right away but no wing on it made me think twice. Will let you know my definite car choice by end of week, latest.

No can do, sorry. Both divisions will start at the same time. Top 12 fastest in Division 1, next 12 fastest in Division 2. That way it will provide better racing, driving against driver of a similar skill level, especially as divisions are limited to 12.

Lol Nep. :)

Are the lotuses swapped? Team lotus UK is running the red and scuderia giudicci is running brg?

It might just be my phone app but was just curious before I signed up :)

It is actually quite confusing lol. Lotus UK is the red one, using 'Rosso Scuderia'.

Scuderia Giudici is the green one, using Lotus Racing Green Metallic.

Righto thanks. Excuse that as I haven't had my morning coffee yet lol.
