I might throw it up on share and have you test it...thinking of using 3 different tunes and entering it in all 3 classes...

Maybe it is just me, but this "I'm gonna put something up on share someone tell me if its any good" stuff just seems counter to the whole idea and spirit of a shootout. If it was a team event it would be one thing but when tuners are being judged individually it just feels....well, dirty to me. :indiff: It feels like looking at the answer key before you take the test.

I don't mean to single you out, X, and I mean no offense but I really feel like folks are starting to bend the rules quite a lot lately with oil and rebuilding and such. Again, maybe its just me being the old fart in the boxers yelling at the kids to get off my lawn. :ouch:

ok just got back from class after giving a ****** presentation give me a few mins and i will look over posts

ok mostly everything up todate except a few things

sheephead99 tris_73 are you guys entering as tuners or testers? Tris i am asuming a tuner but dont want to do put you anywhere just in case.

520pp Entry PSN: Jontank5

As promised, Farm vehicle with more powwwwwaaaaa, I also took a leaf out of ryans book and used a little paint action to spruce up my ride... so the actual car on share may not look the same but hey...👍👍👍👍

Ok so,

ABS-1 - no other aids
Drive with wheel, DS3 what have you....
the tyres are sports medium as per regulations, for some reason I did not capture the entire screen with my phone.
Believe it or not this car drives quite well considering I found it in some guys shed:crazy:

Stay tuned for my serious entries in the other pp ranges later on, enjoy this little beauty until everyone else gets their cars up....

i wasnt expecting that! That will dwarf my possible entry. Im taking the Jeremy Clarkson approach to this.....POWER over everything :)

Just hammered out a 2:16.903 at Suzuka for my 550pp Entry and a 2:22.509 for my 520pp car

Hello Tacoma? Toyota Kitty?

Edit: Eh, one thing left unexplained. For the cost range of each car, does it mean that the car in question has to be from that range or can it cost less? i.e If I had a car that I want to run in the 550PP range but it costs less than 100k, can it still be entered there?

Yes you can enter a car from a lower price range into a higher bracket. That's why I'll be able to use a single base car for all three categories.👍👍:D

I thought it would be relatively well received, "Toyota Kitty" is most suitable..:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

:banghead: I just started tuning my Tacoma. You beat me to it :grumpy:....:dopey:

I'm a fan of choosing one car and sticking to it no matter what, but it's like what Hami was talking about when we told him he wasn't being sporting with his car choices. There's no rule against it, so people will build 20,000 550PP cars and ask for opinions about which one is the best. You can't even ban it anyway, as you can just PM each other out of the thread.

The oil and rebuild is a double edged sword anyway. On one hand you'll get some extra power without going over the PP limit, but on the other hand, it's a useless tune once the shootout ends.

I think it's a good thing guys, I know I'm new on these forums, however it makes for a much more enjoyable community if everyone is talking with each other and willing to help others out, it's the only way people new to tuning or testing are going to learn.... I freely admit I've been speaking with others in the community.... otherwise I'd be lost as to what in the hell I'm building... I needed to get a gauge on lap times for the courses in the classes so have been asking... that way I have something to reference my own tunes off of whilst building the car..

Oh and Krenkme,

please do build your Tacoma and lets battle it out for farm vehicle supremacy:scared:👍👍

Morning everyone everything is updated

Good job. 👍 You're getting the hang of this now, eh?

Also, mind putting me in unsure for the 520PP entry? I want to see how much more I can get out of my 490PP car, so something has to give way.

I am in the process of building both Praiano's cars for me to share. He is out of town and i dont know if he will be able to add people and stuff to his friend list, so to make things a bit easier i am building his. And I forgot we can share 6 cars so i will be sharing 2 from each PP limit.

Ok, I have sent friend requests to everyone, however;

DaDog

Have full friend lists, can those three please add gtp_Deve when they are able .

Cheers,

Steve

Cleared the FR-list a bit , send you a FR ....

Yeah, I get that. Not really suggesting that we necessarily need to take measures to stop it from happening. It is more of a grey area that could be abused if it goes too far. Again, not accusing anyone. Like you I'm not one to find the loopholes, just tune the cars. If it doesn't do well it doesn't do well and I need to figure out where to improve based on the feedback I get.

I definitely understand that need and I think that is a good thing to use the community for. However, hanging a request in a shootout thread for testers to drive the car before you're done seems a little much to me. If you want to PM some folks for opinions that is your business but don't stick the dirty socks in my face, even if you don't mind the smell. There's a better analogy there somewhere but you get the idea. :dopey:

I only pushed those super cars because I wanted to get them banned. I like it better when we all pick a wider variety of cars. In the 1975 challenge the Camaro was 4 of the top 5, but who knew it would be that good and picked by so many. In the 420 Nurburgh Challenge, I knew the Lotus would have a clear advantage, but that's also why I didn't choose it. I didn't want to be one of the herd.

I don't have time to drive 20+ cars to find the gem, so I just drive a handful and pick something that I think will be fun to drive with some speed potential. I like my picks for this challenge. All three of the cars are ones that I haven't driven before now. I can't believe how well two of them handle and am kinda kicking myself for not trying them sooner - been in my garage for months. The third car, for 500PP is really fast, but kind of a beast to tune. That car will be a nice addition to the tuning garage if I can keep the rear tires under it.

@DigitalBaka I understand some of your issues and don't have a problem with them or you. If/when I share cars during a shootout prior to posting the official entry its generally to give others a look at some different cars they may not have thought of before. For most of our events I've entered rather more out of the way cars as opposed to entering whatever happens to be the favorite car to win. This shootout will be no different and I'll continue to look for oddball/orchestra cars to use in future events.

As for not doing oil changes/ engine tuneups I'm in agreement that their not really "fairplay" however since people are competitive some will look for any possible trick that they feel will give their entry that extra edge needed to win. Only way to stop such things is to outright ban them, just like ryangt has banned all cars with front aero downforce here to try and create a more even playing field for a wider range of cars.

Anyways the whole idea with these events is for people to have fun and hopefully occasionally learn something new. As long as we can keep those two elements in play with these events then I'd call them good. If my actions detract from the fun for others then I apologize and will endeavor not to make the same mistakes in future.

Remember as Harvey Wallbanger always says...
Drive hard and have fun!:cheers::gtpflag:

With so much people in this thread talking about oil change/ lotus / i knew/ that´s why/ not fair........ I´m feeling like a cheater right now.

Each shootout have rules , who did the rules just need to say: No old oil allowed.... like no tuner car or no front aero downforce.....

But this was not the case in the last shootout. I don´t care to win or loose. To say the true, in the real life i detest be a winner, just because any winner generate a lot of looser and i don´t like this idea. But when i play a game, i like to play , fair and also to win sometimes , just because it´s fun and it´s a real challenge.

I don´t think my lotus is only a single shootout winner. It´s a very good 420PP car that can be fast and win a lot of online races in his PP range. If PD allow this , we have to play with it . If a shootout boss makes rules to follow, we have to use them the best way. Not to be a cheater, but to build a fast , fun, rules ok car.

><(((((°>°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°

Well I certainly did not intend to call anyone a cheater or make it not fun for anyone. I just wanted to bring it up before folks start getting into the "darker" loopholes, whatever they might be. If you've made a car that fits into the rules, and nobody has made one yet that hasn't, then by all means it belongs whether the oil is changed or not.

Obviously there are going to be cars that are going to be well suited to particular restrictions such as the S2000 in the roadster shootout, the Camaro at Monaco and the ITRs back in the FF event. The guys who have been around tuning longer than some of us will know what those cars might be and just how to tune them. Newer folks like myself will have to search around a bit and then there are guys like Roj that enter hybrids because it's fun. :)

Sorry if I made you feel bad, never my intent. Just wanted to make sure things stayed fun for everyone. Carry on. :)

Well I've found my fire breathing dragon of weirdness!:D:crazy:

Now I just need to fine tune it and check that its under Cr.50,000 so I can use it in all 3 categories.:lol:

And yes! According to the link ryangt has provided the car costs less than Cr.30,000 at 0/0/0 so be prepared for the Wangan Dragon Wagon of Doom.:D
