Well I've found my fire breathing dragon of weirdness!:D:crazy:

...

so be prepared for the Wangan Dragon Wagon of Doom.:D

....oh hell... :scared:

That scares me... a 30k car can get up to 550 pp

taking a look at the list i hope its this

http://www.mygranturismo.net/car_sheet.php?id=900

or this

http://www.mygranturismo.net/car_sheet.php?id=900

Judging by initial PP I don't think either of those would make it to 550PP.

EDIT: Maybe this... http://www.mygranturismo.net/car_sheet.php?id=571

Unfortunately my "Pocket Monster" maxes out at around 515PP and that's the highest PP of any of the Kei cars so the Suzukis are out sorry.:(

DigitalBaka has the right size but wrong make and yes by strapping an ironing board to the roof this one can actually go all the way up to 551PP.:D

With my initial rough test tune at 550PP on SS tires its in the high 0:57s on Tsukuba and high 2:13s on Suzuka with the Wallbanger driving it using an automatic transmission which its really not suited to...:gtpflag::cheers:

The Airtrek is one I've had my eye on to tune some time. Looks like it starts @ 400PP and can get to 540+. May be worth a look for this then. :D

Everybody be cool, this isn't a robbery.

I've yet to go back and read everything in-depth, I'm fresh back from Scotland. From what I've seen regarding oil, perhaps we need to take the conversation to the FITT thread and debate whether or not the submission of 'clean' cars should be added to the standardised rules. I've have no real issue with people doing it, but it's not something I would do just to squeeze under the PP, that's just me though and doesn't mean that I look down on anyone else for doing it. Rules are rules and they're meant to be tested.

Regarding requests for tests of cars before submission, I understand what DigiB is saying about getting a cheeky pre-submission test. However, I have obliged such requests in the past. I tend to restrict my feedback to 'good car/bad car'. As I'm usually a submitter rather than a tester, I'll have undoubtedly run a few cars myself and know whether a car is worth pursing or not. So that's what I'll tend to say. I have gone a bit further with people that are relatively new to this tuning lark, much like myself. As I've gleaned knowledge from the more experienced tuners, both directly and indirectly, I feel it's something of a duty for me to return the favour. I turned up a year or so ago and asked all the stupid questions that new people do and some members took the time to answer them.

It's the community that keeps me coming back here, that and the fact CSLACR's causes a fizzing sensation somewhere behind my penis but in front of my prostate :sly:

Back on-topic. Give me a little while to test some cars and I'll make my slow-arsed mind up as to what group I'll run 👍

PS - 10 man-points to anybody that gets both film and TV references above...

I´m feeling like a cheater right now. ><(((((°>°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°

Noone called you a cheater. Rules are rules and you were well within them. I was just making a statment that I enjoy the challenges more when I see a variety of cars in them. I think the Nurburg 400/420 had that, but didn't we all know when we saw the car list that the 400PP winner was going to be the Integra with no oil change and the 420PP winner a Lotus. Not trying to take anything away from those two tunes, but car choice does make a difference.

That is (more then likely ) my entry in the 490pp class... if I can dial out the slight indersteer :scared::dopey:

A concept, a couple wagons and a pickup. Can't say we aren't gonna see variety here. :D

Like you I'm not one to find the loopholes, just tune the cars. If it doesn't do well it doesn't do well and I need to figure out where to improve based on the feedback I get.
That's what I do. I use shootouts as a means to get mass-feedback from a variety of drivers with a wide range of driving abilities. Of course there's bragging rights too but it's hard to get onto the podium with a Honda Insight.
In the 1975 challenge the Camaro was 4 of the top 5, but who knew it would be that good and picked by so many.
I picked the Camaro for that because I like the Camaro. If I remember right, I was the first one to pick the Camaro while everyone else was getting hot for the Stratos. It was only until everyone realised the Camaro was setting the best laps that the bandwagon was formed. It was Dylan's Countach that eventually toppled the Camaro's though.
Newer folks like myself will have to search around a bit and then there are guys like Roj that enter hybrids because it's fun. :)
Hybrids? I only ever entered one!

Edit: Just looking for a bit of clarification on one of the rules.

7) Ballast of 5% is allowed (if a car is 1500 kg you can add 75 kg of weight)

Is this 5% of the car's stock weight, or the actual weight of the car?

The GT86's stock weight is 1230kg, giving me 61.5kg of ballast allowed. After full weight reduction though, it's 1092kg. So am I still allowed to use 61.5kg or must I use the new figure of 54.6kg?

My thoughts on oil changes, etc

The only unfair one is having less than 200 miles, so it gains power and PP while being tested.
Everything else can and is done online, there is no restriction in PP regulations for PL, ballast, or whether you have to increase your cars power by an unrealistic level with "super oil".
5% power from oil? It's goddamn ridiculous, on top of that, adding insult to injury, most cars in GT5 go faster in a straight line than their real-world counterparts brand new, with 0.0 miles and no oil change. 👎
So I don't care for having to oil-change every car, because it inflates an already inflated performance of most cars.

To sum that up, my next shootout will have literally zero restrictions on PP tuning, you just do whatever you can to make your car go the fastest possible. Excess ballast and pl hurt PP performance anyway, so why build guidelines to force people into the already best areas to be in, right?

I didn't have a clue the Integra would fair so well, it very clearly was not the fastest car, and I didn't expect it to be.

It maxes out at 544PP with the ironing board on top and is sadly off the pace of the other wagons at that level. And yes I've tested most of the available wagons for this, only a couple variations I haven't tested. Most of them are surprisingly quick considering what they are.

Hybrids? I only ever entered one!

You entered a 458 in the Indy event. That's a hybrid of Ferrari and fugly...

And so far I've picked out a couple cars for 490 and 520 just by sitting here on my butt at work and looking through MyGT. :D Go ahead and add me to those Ryan, still not sure about the 550 yet.

Still looking for someone to take me up on my challenge and use one base car to build the "one car to rule them all, one car to bring them all, and in the paddocks bind them!":D

I'm guessing the Stagea. And it felt too big at 490pp, but that's the only level I tried it at. :dopey:

It's not ugly, but I'm not really a fan of Ferrari's new designs at the moment. If the 458 looked like a 355 though, I'd be all over it.

I hope you're using the Autech Stagea. That's the one with the R33 GT-R running gear. The RS-Four is much more understeery, even if it has a stat advantage on paper. 👍

Yes sorry Roj its based off the new weight so in your case 54.6kg (i edited my own edit after i thought about it some XD)

and CSLACR i changed your PSN please double check its correct

Yes sorry Roj its stock weight i should of made that clear i will be doing so right now.
Ooh...cool I've been using the weight after reduction...this means better weight distribution and more POWWAAAHHHH!

I was guessing that Harvey was *wrong*, and sadly I'm not either :(. I think I have my three cars sorted. 490pp Airtrek, 520pp Tacoma...or Crossport :odd:, 550pp my first "serious" shootout entry LFA :D

Now all I need is to get home and tune them :dunce:

I was wrong about you tuning the Stagea... wasn't I?

Edit - reading it again, it made no sence. I was just saying I thought you would tune the Stagea, and I was wrong. And I'm not not tuning it either. Sorry for the confusion Sir.

Caldina?

I'm gonna stick with my NSX in the middle I think and one of my alternates from the touge event (has that ever officially ended? :odd:) for the lower end. I'm still thinking about 550; not sure any of my lower priced ideas will be able to keep up with the LFA or the NSX but I may throw one up anyway. No, not that throw up....unless i find the "right" color. :dopey:
