DigitalBaka gets the brass ring.:D

Yes I'm using the Caldina GT-FOUR '02 for all three classes... If I can swing it only differences will be the bolt ons used, amounts of ballast and power limiter and the tires.

If I can't make it work like I want with the permanent modifications in place needed for the 550PP class then I'll have to use a second one for the 490PP class.

Luckily I have like 5 of them, most under 2,000miles.

The Stagea and Legacy were both within a half second of it at Tsukuba and within a second at Suzuka using my rough tunes for them so any of the three could easily come out on top depending on the final tune. I chose the Caldina because it was fastest with my test tune on Tsukuba and doesn't come from a company noted for its performance 4wds and share major components with those noted cars. The Airtrek was sadly the only one that really disappointed me.:(

Sorry am going to be nit picky...... As a former Celica ST185 GT4 owner, I know all too well that the Caldina GT-T had a 3SGTE straight out of the GT four celica, and pretty much the same drivetrain, with a longer drive shaft and modified rear suspension to handle more weight.....:sly:

Looks like we are going to have some sort of "Wagon Showdown" in the 550pp range as my ride for that class that I'm currently testing is also a wagon, but none of the previously mentioned ones

"The top of the line GT-T came with the turbocharged 260 PS (191 kW; 256 hp) 4th generation 3S-GTE engine, and included an all-wheel drive system similar to the Toyota Celica GT-Four. The GT-T also came with optional electronic stability control(VSC) (standard on Active Sports versions). The Aerial version features a large sunroof and countoured roof racks as standard.[1] Weighing 1,470 kg (3,241 lb), the Caldina GT-T offers similar performance to a Subaru WRX wagon achieving 0–100 km/h in 7 seconds." source j-spec.com.au

Wagons rule!!!!!!!!! :D :dopey:

I may even be trading in my Ram for a Magnum 👍 (sorry had to tell someone, my wife is not happy with me )

The Celica doesn't have the same sort of reputation with most people as either the GT-R or the WRX. Not that its a poor performer it just doesn't get the press the others do.
Say GT-R and a lot of people think "Supercar", say WRX and people think of World Rally battles with Evos. Say Celica, especially here in the U.S. and a lot of people think of a mediocre performing at best girl car, that riced out Hondas, Nissan 300Zs and Mazdas RX-7s ate for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Supra got a little respect, the Celica gets none.

On another note we need to do some sort of all Wagon/SUV event at some point...:gtpflag:

Everybody be cool, this isn't a robbery.

a fizzing sensation somewhere behind my penis but in front of my prostate :sly:

Pulp Fiction and Top Gear

Can I get 5 points for Pulp Fiction? :)

Ned? Ned's dead.

No man points for getting Zed's name wrong. 👎:sly:

At the moment it sort of looks like this will be almost a wagons only event.

Say Celica to anyone who knows anything about Rally, and you see the first japanese car to take out the european rally domination...........Leading Caros Sainz to multiple WRC titles and massive fame...... Sega Rally anyone? (I did not see a GT-R in there?)

"The Celica has been a hard to beat contender ever since its introduction in the WRC when it raced against the Lancia Integrale in 1989-90. Toyota won 38 WRC rallies and 2 WRC Championships ('93 and '94) with it."

Girly car? really? ok so the engine used to power the TRD machines in the JGTC is from a girls car?👎

Sorry I think we are going to have to agree to disagree on the Celica.... you may be right for the states side piece, however didn't Rod Millen dominate Pikes peak in his 1200hp Celica for years? in motorsports circles I am sure that is an highly regarded achievement for a car:):)

Please do not compare a honda or a nissan 300z to an RX-7 please :) the RX-7 is a thing of beauty and goes like a rocket standard nevermind tuned.

I was guessing that Harvey was *wrong*, and sadly I'm not either :(. I think I have my three cars sorted. 490pp Airtrek, 520pp Tacoma...or Crossport :odd:, 550pp my first "serious" shootout entry LFA :D

Now all I need is to get home and tune them :dunce:

I knew someone would find the AIRTREK :ouch::) Maybe I'll go with a Lexus/Toyota for 520pp and a Mazda Demio for 490pp:dopey:

I didn't say the Celica was never a successful car in Motorsports, however the models offered here in the US and marketing campaigns made them much more popular amongst younger females than males. Also understand that while Australia and Europe saw some higher performance versions of the Celica the most powerful model ever offered in the US only made 200HP leaving it seriously lagging in performance compared to many other cars in its market segment. Rather big gap in performance between a rather heavy sports coupe making 200HP and a purpose built 1,200hp Pikes Peak time attack car that happens to have the name Celica on it.
Marketing here focused on it being a cheap, economical, sporty car and not on its ties to high performance Motorsports. The Supra which started life as a Celica variant, had become its own distinct model and was the performance sports car for Toyota here in the US.

Different parts of the world and the associated cultural, and social norms can make for a much different take on cars. Growing up if someone owned a Mercedes-Benz they were perceived as being wealthy or important by my circle of friends. Spending three years living in Germany where you could buy a used Mercedes for about the same as a used Ford or Opel changed that perception for me slightly.

No mate I'm talking about the forth coming wagon battle in this competetion between those of us out of control enough to enter them!!!!:dunce::sly::):)

FYI mine is in the 550pp range too......:scared:

Yea, and I'm saying the RS4 avant which is a wagon is mah car, no one will touch it!

Let's not derail the thread, though, take it to F.I.T.T for planning it out. 👍

Anyway, my car's ready…sort of. It might be fit for just a very, very specific driving style, but if you do use that style, it's bloody quick. 2:20.1xx at 490PP isn't half bad. :D

Psh! Everyone knows the VAGs are mine! :mischievous: /fanboy

I think I may join ol' Harv in the 1-for-3 ring. Found a car that will easily hit all three and is even half done. :dopey: We'll see how it does against my others. If it's close I'll roll with it.

Nope.avi, RS4 is still mine. :P

Oh? Is it a Legnum or something to rival the Wallbanging Caldina thing?

Alright here are my silly noob questions for the day(This is the first time I've tested for an event like this). (1) Where do I post my testing results? (2) Should I wait until I've tested every entry in my PP field to submit my results or can I post them individually as I finish them?

1. Post them here.
2. Your choice, post as you go or gather them up, up to you entirely.

Also, should I be saving replays of my tests? (not sure I have the disk space left on my machine, skyrim and ff 13-2 are HUGE)

thanks for the quick answer btw:tup::)
