Had a run on Tsukuba with some parts tuning in my weapon of choice. I have some looooong nights ahead of me. The understeer is....well if I get on too early I'll shoot off the track and end up at Fuji..... :banghead:

I will be adding myself to the 550 list i will have lots of time to test since spring break will be happening during the testing.

And why not for 490PP? Too slow?

And I'm sort of verging on not doing 520PP…but I'm pleased with my 490PP entry. Which, as history tells me, is a sign that I'll probably stuff this shootout right the way up and out the chimney because whatever tuned car for a shootout I enjoyed tuning and driving, everyone else hates.

I will add myself for 490PP , i`m not sure of the superiority of the RX7 :):).
I will publish a 86GT this afternoon.

I also need these people to send me FRs if they want they tune tested
I believe for this shootout he's asked the testers add the tuners.

I'm not sure the RX-7 can win any of the PP classes, but for a trifecta car, it's probably the absolute best I'm guessing.
Plus it'll be neat to tune the same car 3 times, or maybe try for a "1 tune to rule them all", meaning same tune for all three, minus power adders, ect for lower PP.

That's what I was going to try. I have a hard enough time getting one done. :) Still need to figure out the logistics of removables...probably need to have just engine tuning for my low level. Should be fun to figure out though. :sly:

I've already committed to tuning three separate tunes, but I wish all of you using the same car for all three classes luck 👍. Sounds like FUN. :dopey:

Just an update I am now sharing 1/6 cars in the shootout waiting for more to post their tunes and I will pick the other 5 when they are posted later.

I am sharing Praiano63's Honda HSC '03. Setting sheet A is for Suzuka and setting sheet B is for Tsukuba.

I am doing this to make it easier for some of the testers who need to get testing done on cars but are waiting for a tuner to accept their friend request. I will only be hosting a total of 6 cars, 2 from each PP limit, till the end of the shootout for testers to use. The cars will be built exactly like the tuners cars. I will make an update post with a running List of cars that i am hosting for testers who need it.

I remember talk in the last shootout that cars gain hp even on share? If that is the case this might not work XD.

Ok, Ryan, I think I can do the 520PP as well, as my 490PP tune can handle a bit more grip and go, though it is naturally more loose and lairy. So I'm in the All-in-1 bandwagon too. :D

To my big dissapointment , the toyota prius cannot go to 490 pp ....

what a shame ... what a shame :(

ok Onboy updated it, just to make sure you are still just doing 490 and 520 right?

So spent the last week testing cars etc for each of the classes, and found that in 550pp there is a very clear fastest 2 rides.... By 1-2 seconds a lap depending on circuit.

490pp seems to be the most challenging to get right, car must cost less than $49,999 and do 1min 1 sec range or better at tsukuba... and sub 2:20 at suzuka.........

spent all day yesterday mucking with rides in between F1 sessions, then decided to try out what I anticipated to be "fastest" in the 550 pp range and was not disappointed, 1st lap Tsukuba 56.450 (1st lap), considering my other rides only just manage mid 57's at this range with pushing hard too!!!.....I might have to put soccer mom on hold til next shootout...

Allrighty then, here are my testing results thus far.

TUNER:Praino63
MAKE&MODEL:Nissan Skyline GT-R M-Spec Nur(R34) '02
CIRCUIT:Tsukuba TIME:0:59.633
CIRCUIT:Suzuka TIME:2:17.721(2:16.863)

When I first tested this tune I admittedly didn't do my do dilligence of carefully reading the posted tune, and did not reset the final drive as specified. Thus, the time in parenthesis is the time I ran with the gear set for Tsukuba:dunce:.

As for general impressions of the car, I found understeer to be somewhat of an issue. It can be managed with precise throttle control but that is not my strong suit. I also found the tail end quite loose, which offset the understeer sometimes but frankly not enough for me. Also, it was my experience that the bumper strips at tracks edge were not my friend in this car:scared:. That being said, I have to admit that I am biased against 4WD cars in general for the reasons I stated above.

TUNER:Hermanvongerman
MAKE&MODEL:Toyota Tacoma X-Runner '04
CIRCUIT:Tsukuba TIME:1:02.222
CIRCUIT:Suzuka TIME:2:23.357

General Impressions: This truck really hates turning! Opposite Lock makes this truck shutter violently in mid to high speed cornering while the rear ends just plain gives up and decides to go home...in the complete opposite direction. Mashing the gas at any point is also a bad idea as this causes the rear tires to turn redder than Bozo's nose and again want to go home in the other direction. Trying to take the safe route with this truck only gives you lots of understeer. This truck's saving grace is it's great acceleration, when you can actually get the rear tires to hook up that is. Definetly a hand full.

👍 Cool thanks for starting so early Comandor just make sure you keep all your results in one post so I am not looking all over for them when it comes times to figure out winners.

If i understand you have run a faster time at Suzuka with the Tsukuba gear box??? You can´t reach the max speed at suzuka with this setting , something wrong or i don´t understand everything. What are your times??? Finally?
CIRCUIT:Tsukuba TIME:0:59.633 with suzuka gearbox??

Like I said in the post, my first round of testing your car I failed to reset the final drive for Suzuka, so the (2:16.863) was achieved with the 3.385 final drive setting. The 2:17.721 time was achieved with the 3.030 final drive that you stipulated in your posted tune. The best explanation I have for the gap in the times is that with the numerically higher final drive ratio I was able to make up time lost to understeer better than I was with the intended final drive ratio. Yes my top speed was lower in the faster run but I think the two times speak for themselves.

I chose to post both times because I thought this was a discussion worth having. Also, I did not run a second round at Tsukuba with the Suzuka gearing because I didn't think it would provide any positive differences in lap time.

You don´t have to run Tsukuba with Suzuka final gear . Each one is for each track. 3.385 on Suzuka is not good because you reach the red zone at top speed. After 8000 rpm the power go down but the difference is not so big on this short distance. But the most important with the right final gear is that it is calculated for taking some important curves at right RPM for max grip and max retake. Your better time don´t have nothing to see with the use of the wrong short final gear. The right one is 00.300 to 00.400 faster.

Anyway, good run , thanks for testing and good drive for the others cars and tuners.

The Tacoma has almost killed one tester, wonder who will be next?,

back to tuning and test driving my 490pp and 550 pp rides.........

Well, bear this in mind, commandorando is hardly the best driver in the world, with all due respect. Mind adding me? I want to see how I get on in your Tacoma.

Boy oh boy that Tacoma is a handful

:crazy::crazy:

I have no idea what your talking about? Trolololololololol.....👍👍

Onboy adding you now.....

during recent testing have found a nasty ride that has the potential to beat the latest model GT-R round Tsukuba, and Suzuka, and it's a standard car....that you can take the kids to school in:nervous::scared:....hint...

Just wondering too if I should test for 550pp....
