My Audi R8 5.2 FSI takes airborne on the flugplatz even at fairly low speeds. Typically, it ends up in the sand trap and loses a place or two before extracting itself...

I managed 2nd with a fully tuned RMed Subaru Impreza Sedan WRX STi Version VI '99. The opposition was mostly low key but the winner, in a Zonda LM, was well ahead! The third place car was a Ford Mk IV which drafted back to second on the long straight and was re-passed with a daring braking move by yours truly up the hill towards the final corners.
There are a number of cars that really don't work, I'm airborne, nose well up in both a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren (19” Wheel Option) '09 and a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG '10 at several laces early in the lap.

The Enzo was about 4/5 seconds behind the Ford GT - it's straight line speed is not enough to close the gap at the end. I think the time was 6:42, must of done a 6:3x with the Veyron.

@eight6er, I will give the RX-7 TC a go.

challenge: use the same car as last place AI, to beat the first car that AI is using.

I used a Lexus ENEOS , and defeated the McLaren F1 with it. 6:27, ahead by ~1s
mind you, there isn't much room for error on the lap.

BTW this Lexus drives soo nice at 600pp. You can bump some unforgiving AI, because clearly they wont let you ever pass, but be smarter than them.

What i love about this seasonal is the choice of diffrent cars and the diffrent AI cars and of course the RING.

I wonder can anyone win with a 500pp car ?

I think not, judging on the pp base

FYI, ive come in very close seconds and thirds with most road cars, but I have won in a Audi lemans quatro tuned to 645 pp

FYI this car handles LIKE A BOSS Lol

So does the Stealth Gt-R. I managed 1'25.300 but I am sure that lap can be improved by at least 2 or 3 seconds. It's slower than the Zonda Lm on the climbs and straights, but that car sticks to the track like epoxi, handy on the ring indeed

Im going to try out some Ferrari cars tonight i think it should be possible with the
SP1
Italia 458
Enzo

Im going to try this with a fully tuned Mini Cooper S when I get home. See how far up the ladder I can climb. Hoping for at least 8th

The first grid after a console reboot always has the McLaren in it.

I will pay attention next time I plan on doing the race, you're probably right. But byegad is also right that the McLaren is rare when racing with weaker cars. It took 9 entries with the RX7 LM Prototype before I got McLaren. Then I still beat it. :dopey:

6'06 with Mazda 787b after 3 attempts.

Has anyone found a car capable of less than six minutes?

That's fantastic!!!!!! What was your setup? The best I can do is 6.18 in the GT ONE!

5:45 in a 650pp tuned down gt formula it's very fast, but make sure it has RS tires.

I didn't realize you could detune an FGT quite that much. Best I could manage in my non-turboed only slightly set-up McLaren F1 GTR that I'm not at all familiar with was 6:03.430.

I'm sure the car could break 6:00 but I'm not the one to do it. Don't know the car all that well, it's not particularly well set-up, it would probably be faster with a flatter power curve/perfect ballast & aero, the Artificial Weavers are frustrating as hell and I suck at driving on RS tires. I actually take several corners faster on RH tires than I could manage while attempting this.

EDIT: Filed under "no surprise," but in the other thread someone did 5:59 i with a 2J.

I was hoping to maybe break 6, but driving on RS and dealing with AI that much slower is no fun at all.

You can tune an FGT down that far ? That's news to me, I thought the 2J was the fastest at that PP. Might try that tomorrow. And yes, the 2J is a capable of sub 6-minute though I'm sure more can be got out of it. That 5:59 wasn't perfect by no means. Used a tune I found somewhere on the forums, doesn't like the curbs but everything else is good. I'll post it in a sec.

EDIT: The tune I used. My transmission settings are slightly crazy, can't access them at the moment.

Suspension:
Ride Height: -2 front and 0 rear
Springs: 13.0 front and 13.5-14.0 rear
Damper Extension: 6/6
Damper Compression: 5/5
ARB´s: 4/4
Camber: 2.0/1.5
Toe: -0.22/0.00

Brakebal.: 5/4
Controlersensivity: 7

ANy opinion of the grids? Any lead car Rabbits or any grids that are very weak.

I've driven this about ten times so far. Weapon of choice: Bentley.

First time I tried, a Ford Falcon XR8 was leading the field. I won despite me driving really bad on RH. The Falcon finished about 7:10 IIRC.

Since then only Ford LM or McLaren GTR leading.

So I guess that there's a random element, even though I've got the impression that usually the game's trying to match the lead car to your choice of car.

I managed a close third 5 seconds behind the lead Ford GT LM Spec II and a second 12s behind a Mclaren F1 GTR with a Ferrari 330 P4. Then managed 9th, 11th and 12th with the self same Ferrari after P12, 11 and 10 set about punting me off the track as I passed, or more often failed to pass them. Even my wife, who is not a motor racing enthusiast, watched my last two races of the day and commented on how they were moving off line to 'get me'!

Everything is default, except I added 200kg ballast so I could put the bhp up.
Think I made the transmission a little longer too.
Getting about 330kmh on the straights.
Racing Soft of course, no aids except abs. I saved the replay.

How did you tune it down that far???
Put coins in the engine?

Keep going! That win is there!👍
I found with the P4 that easing gently off the brakes after braking prevented the back end stepping out. And try the tune in my last post above - the gearing gives you superb acceleration and a high top speed for mullering the AI down the final straight.

I have really enjoyed getting the Big 3 (P4, Mark IV and XJ13) on the top step for this seasonal!👍

I have the brakes set 8/2 on most cars for the Nordscleife. I'll take a look at the 330 P4s set up when I drive later today. This allows me to brake late into corners without losing the back end. I've also got all of the big three set up differently for this with very soft suspension and roll bars and stiff dampers. This seems optimal for me at least.

if u put full ballast, take off the turbos, take off aero, and detune a non broken in engine, u will b able 2 do it. u can also break it in, but no oil change.

Wow! I'll need to try that! I though it would need to be broken in so i'll be definitely buying another one from the OCD!
