I've just been trying this in the VW W12.....could beat the Zonda LM but was still about 7 seconds behind the Mclaren race car. Good fun trying though. Driven well I reckon it could win....anybody else going to try? The car is in the OCD at the mo:)

Nice, might try that, I bought a nardo yesterday, i'll see how quick I can go. Although I love pushing an r8 race car round to see how low I can go, best at the moment is a 5:53, with possible improvement. But I will try the nardo soon.

Tried taking an 850+bhp zr1 round and it handles like a block of flats, its awful even with a decent tune on it, I guess i've just been getting too used to using LMP's...

Just felt like sharing how amazingly slow the [AI] Lister is(no surprise I'm sure) and how much fun driving a GT1 car on street tires was. :)

Good job, man. I think that's the next thing to do with this event 💡 I'm no advocate of nerfing the tires all the time, but it's something we can do right now until they fix the AI... And I'll reluctantly admit it does improve your skill and can be pretty fun :sly:.

Tangent, but talking about slow AI, I just tested comfortably winning all six FormulaGT races with Comfort Hards on. Had to check the replay but sure enough, the AI was still on Racing Hards. The FGT will even do a practice lap around the 'Ring in 4'50 on Comfort Softs. I'm thinking even if you could get it down to 650pp, it might be able to win this event with it on CH tires.

D'oh! Correction, FGT in 4'50 on Sports Softs, not Comfort. I will eventually try all the tire compounds though.

So last night I tested the NASCAR #99 on all the tires - it had a range of 7'58 (Comfort Hard) to 6'00 (Racing Soft). 25-second gaps in the Comfort compounds, then 15-second and 8-second for Sports and Racing. Just a suggestion for this Nordschleife event, stock cars handle surprisingly well and don't drop into 7 minutes until the Comfort Softs... so you could still win with the right AI set. I never thought I'd say it, but thanks to GT5, stock cars might be my second favorite car to drive after the Formula Gran Turismo.

Took a brand new Tuscan Speed 6 RM with Racing Softs to the ring. Very fun drive compared to the Lexus IS F RM. After a few laps getting used to it and breaking it in I beat the F1 on the final corner.

I could not draft him as I was back 1.6xx seconds at the start of the long straight, so I did not think I could have beat him. Lo and behold GT5's awesome computer AI slowed down so much on that final 90 degree that there was nothing else to do but pass on exit.

I HATE that car! :yuck:
so oversteer yet understeer (it's weird), it was a 6 minutes of hell when I tried that car

Oh and my best time so far is 6:01 on a Toyota GT One..

I have been consistantly trying a couple of cars and have finished the last 10 races around 5:50 with full downforce and top speed around 330.
There is a lot to be gained still perfecting the overtakes in the first 2 minutes could shave the times down to the 5:40's

-Audi R8 race car (the standard one)
-Toyota GT ONE

As apposed to what I've read above i hate adding weight to a car. I just lowered the power of my cars untill they matched 650pp with full downforce.
I also have not tuned the cars yet except lowring the GT ONE to -9 front and rear and that made the car that little bit quicker.

So I suggest you guys try these two out, the Bentley Speed 8 is more composed but also slower, a near perfect run lands me a 5:56 at best.

I highly doubt you could do close to 5:40 without adding power and weight. :) or use SRF if the event allow it.

Is the main benefit of more power and weight that you save time on the long straights?
I haven't done enough nurburgring events to know, hence, my question.

Yes, the advantage is on the straight line or uphill parts, the handling isnt bad either, sometimes it will also be more stable with more weight, but keep in mind its mostly when theres a PP restriction, when you can go all out adding weight will only help on some cars.

the toyota worked great, the lead was a corvette.thanks a lot,i tried about 6 different cars before i ran across your post:dunce:

team playstation viper
ford gt spec2 test car
ford gt race car (white)
