Winter Stars Tuning Garage-Requests/tuners/testers welcome!

I am possibly interested in being a test driver if you are still taking any. I have very limited play time for the next 3 weeks, but should be able to play plenty for the rest of august.

Sweet. I'll add you up. :) Thanks. One question: DS3 or steering wheel?

MrMelancholy15
Thanks man. :) I've added you to the list. Hopefully, by August, you'll have a nice set of tunes, from which you'll be able to choose the ones you might like, and try them. 👍

I have all sorts of fun (and as you may know I am a pretty solid tuner for normal racing cars). Also, if needed, I can post probably 4 or 5 drift tunes i have made for my drift cars 👍

I'd be okay with that.

In reference to the "I am a pretty solid tuner for normal racing cars" I trust you and believe it, but I'm just curious if I've actually raced against you. Most of the people I race with have lots of different GTP/PSN names, and I can get confused at times. Sorry.

I do not believe I have? We are in a couple of racing series together that will soon be starting I think. Not sure.

Bankfin? VLN? those are both scheduled to start soon. If so, I'll see what you've got. The Bankfin's the one, I'm pretty sure. It's being organized by NizmoDR3, and involves the Touring Cars that the game has, built in, (Lexus IS200 GT-1 Race Car, BMW 320i Touring Car, Mitsubishi Evo IX RM etc.)

Bankfin. I am in bankfin with you. Driving my impreza touring car. I have no intention of winning. I'm not an amazing driver (only top 2000-3000 usually on TT seasonals). I'm just out for a fun competition

Haha, "only." I got top 256 once in Time Trials seasonals, and everyone goes crazy. No one else DOES rally in GT5... :( I think I'm legitimately actually friends with every rally driver in GT5. However, I generally rank about 2000 to 3000, if I have the right car/setup. So, this Bankfin thing, seems like it'll be a competitive series.

Sounds good 👍
I cant wait.
But back on the subject of being a test driver. I will have zero access to any Internet for 9 days, so no ps3 for me, but as soon as I can, I will drop my drift tunes on here then try some of the tunes that need testing. Is that alright?

Sure. All of this sharing; it's like kindergarten. "I'll test yours, if you test mine?"

MrMelancholy15
Shocking! :scared: :)

Has anyone caught on to anything with my Tune names?

I can tell they have a relation to something. Not sure what though. I just know that tunes normally don't have names like that

Each one has a name, which, I believe, reflects the personality, by reflecting the personality (generally) of a person with that name. Like, Molly is the name of a few redheads I know, and they tend to be feisty but logical. Well, there's that, and there's Molly Quinn...

I never would have guessed a tune having names based on personality. :dopey:

When you say it like that, it seems simple, but, the cars do have personalities. I'm not sure the GTP AUP would really like me to explain too much about all of the names, but, most of them fit pretty well.

I hope so ... I tried out Dream last night and there's only two words to describe it .... I SUCK ... drifting takes a lot if time and practice hey ...

Okay I have just tested your 350z drift tune. Here my impression.
DS3 first
Test track:ARMR
It's very nice car to drift it's very controllable but it's abit twitchy and unsmooth for my likings. The transmission is Perfect. But you used to much downforce I prefer no wings at all or downforce at 5 not 20.
Tested it solo in my lounge with realistic Grip.
Tandem (Not tested)
Solo 4 from 5 points

Wheel
Test track:ARMR
It feels nice aswell I'm getting some understeer mid drift and corner exits tho thats very bad for tandems it might be because the massive downforce.

Tandem 2 from 5 points
Solo 3.5 from 5 points

Would you try testing it without the rear downforce, and see if you prefer it?

Otherwise, 4 out of 5 isn't bad, considering I was having some serious trouble with the tune, but I had reached an agreement with someone on the Marketplace, that if he sent my friend NizmoDR3 a Toyota Altezza TC, I'd send him a tuned and built Fairlady Z drift car. I got feedback from him, saying that "it's perfect." after he changed the gearing a bit. To each his own, I suppose. However, I think the difference is perhaps the difference in driver talent. Whereas the driver I was tuning it for had little experience in drifting (and learned quite quickly, as he was doing quite well after an hour,) I would definitely say (after drifting with you, while you were in your Chaser) that you're a talented drifter, and might prefer a different type of drifting.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll try to figure it out shortly. I'm just happy to have sent the starting-point for the tune out, within 48 hours, to the trader, and have gotten positive feedback. However, if I can improve on something, I definitely will.

Yeah will try it without Wing tomorow ;)

Thanks. Sounds good. If that works, I'll, maybe, make an entire variant without using rear aero for my drift tunes that would use rear aero.

I've got a long list of cars to add/tune, so I'll likely be in good business. :)

Hey whats up? I was wondering if you'd accept an application for a DF:GT rally test driver. Kind of specialist but its the only thing I'm good at lol, I'm pretty horrible at drifting honestly(with the wheel). You know my skills on the dirt though. :sly:

Edit: Forgot to mention, I can drive any drivetrain well in gravel and snow

Sure! ;) You'd be a great fit to the Garage. I know that it would help both of us.

Also, new project updates soon! Expect some grip- and rally-tuned cars up soon.
