This is based on an idea that cc570 came up with... but has not gotten together. So I have been forced to come up with my own.
Racers will match up for 1-to-1 battles with up to 3 different racers, within the alotted time range, at each racer's convenience of scheduling, and report the results of these rival matches.
Schedule:
The times denote opening times & deadlines for scheduling your battles with opponents, and reporting your results. There is no set time which you must race, it's entirely up to you and your opponents to race when it's convenient. 👍
Rounds & Events info here:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=7573749#post7573749
The events can be completed with other racers any time within the time frames specified for those events.
Phouchg gives a good set of instructions here:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=7581758#post7581758
Participants may join in at any time during the season, but will obviously start behind early adopters in points.
Each Event will only require matched opponents to meet for less than an hour to complete the event. Matched opponents may complete 1 event at a time, or 2 events within the round in one session with the same opponent.
Rounds
Rounds will consist of 2 events, in which racers have nearly 2 weeks to complete their match-up battles.
Events
Events will consist of 1 car matched to 1 track for that event.
Opponent Matching:
Opponents will match up for event battles with other racers, and race each event in each round in a maximum of 3 matches per event.
Matching with the same 3 opponents for both events in a round is allowed, but not necessary. (ie: opponents may choose to match up for both events in a round, or to choose other matches for each event, or any combination thereof)
Scoring Points:
Race Points:
1st place: 5
2nd place: 3
Points tallied for each event.
Only your best 2 matches in an event will be counted. If you complete 3 matches, your poorest of the 3 will be dropped from the season scoring tally.
(Allowing for those with limited time to participate, difficult matching schedules, and allowing for racers to accept less than ideal matches at times.)
Example, you race 3 different people in an event. All events results will be posted. But only your points from your best 2 matches will be counted for season points. (Which matches count for your opponents will not matter to your score.)
Note: The pre-season qualifying round event points tallies will be handled just like a round, and posted, but they will not count toward season cumulative points.
Races to be conducted in VCRC lounge if the lounge is available.
If the VCRC lounge is not available when you would like to race, you may use the lounge of PSN: redshifting
Custom tracks will be shared on these accounts as well.
Please be sure to add both:
PSN: VCRC
PSN: redshifting
Spectators:
Spectators are allowed to enter the lounge(s) watch, but not to interfere in any way with racing between matched opponents.
Mics should be switched to off during qualifying and racing, and no text chat is allowed during qualifying and racing.
Car Regulations:
Tuning: Prohibited
Stock Tires
Allowed: oil change, engine rebuild, chassis restoration, wheel rims, & paint
Race Regulations:
All aids off except ABS (driver's choice)
tire wear on
damage light
slipstream weak
grip real
penalty off
boost off
visible damage off
Race Procedures:
Races to be held in VCRC lounge if the lounge is available, you may also use PSN: redshifting lounge
(if both lounges are unavailable at the time you would like to race, a lounge of one of the racers may be used)
Qualifying: Drivers allowed 2 timed laps, then park, stay on track until race start
Race #1 : Fastest First
Race #2 : Reverse Grid Order
Race #3 : Reverse Grid Order
Tracks:
Each event will have specifications for track settings and laps.
Rules:
GTP OLR Rules
Please familiarize yourself with these rules prior to racing.
Racers will all score opponents based upon their experience racing in each match. Scoring should be based upon adherance to Track Etiquette and level of Sportsmanship Integrity.

Opponent Track Etiquette & Sportsmanship Integrity Scoring:
For each match of an event, racers will give their opponent a score: 1,2,3,4,5
TE&SI Points = 1 = Not Good, 2 = Okay, 3 = Good, 4 = Very Good, 5 = Excellent
There will be standings listed for these points. Clearly having good scores in this area will make it easier for you to find matches for each event!
Opponent TE&SI SCORING IS NOT OPEN FOR PUBLIC DISCUSSION.
If you have a problem or confusion with the way you've been scored, contact your opponent privately via private messaging to inquire about it.
Results Posting Instructions:
Each racer will post the results of their matches, because of Opponent TE&SI scoring, and for quality control purposes on the results.
All results are to be posted in the following format, please copy/paste and insert the relevant information in place of "-X-". (This is to allow me to easily cull the results from the thread.)

Rules:
GTP OLR Rules
Please familiarize yourself with these rules prior to racing.
Racers will all score opponents based upon their experience racing in each match. Scoring should be based upon adherance to Track Etiquette and level of Sportsmanship Integrity.
- You are expected to behave like sporting gentlemen at all times. Dirty driving is absolutely forbidden.
- If you cause a contact, you must make contact concessions. ie: no bump-passing
- Caution must be exercised when re-entering the track after an off-road excursion or spin caused by any reason.
- Carless driving, recklessness, & aggressive risky maneuvers are strongly discouraged, and will certainly result in your fellow racers being ill tempered, and inclined to score you poorly for Track Etiquette & Sportsmanship Integrity
- The in-game penalty system is switched to off to prevent ghosting, with the understanding that GTPlanet racers do not need the in-game penalty system to follow posted track rules. Shorting the track is strictly prohibited, must have 2 wheels on the tarmac (or at least rumble curbing) - this includes "going wide"; ie: off-roading in the grass or dirt, or using tarmac outside the parameters of the track, is forbidden. If off-roading occurs by accident, throttle lift is both expected and mandatory to avoid being scored poorly for Track Etiquette & Sportsmanship Integrity.
- Mics should be switched off, and no text chat should occur while racing, by racers or spectators.
- You may discuss races in the thread, but any bitter rivalry disputes should be kept off the public thread and conducted in Private Messaging, and reported to the race director and/or appointed league stewards.
