TURTLE RACING LEAGUE - ENDURO Racing Series - PRACTICE TONIGHT!

I think along the same lines as Chote on this. My first FLEX race at the Nurb was a Disaster! Then, I started learning about the track and printed out this map to look at, and learn the names of the corners. It's an easy place to get lost, but if you have some sort of reference, be it a song, a corner name, a landmark, it helps you begin to anticipate the next turn again.

Try to visualize yourself driving the entire track. Lots of racers in lots of different sports do that.

The map is a great idea too. I made a diagram of each track and corner numbers and printed them out, and placed them next to my rig, so I could write down notes of the track when learning. It also allows for quick communication when trying to figure out a corner in a practice. So instead of saying the medium left that's half way through the track you can say, the entry into turn 9 or something like that.

That was my plan initially, but then i kept getting out of sorts between "no no no no no" and "sonofaB", right before entering "areyoukiddingme" that lead into my personal favorite "SRSLY?". Those names only worked in house, but no one else knew what turns I was talking about...

Quick question for one of the league admins ... Due to my work schedule I'm unable to participate in any of the other TRL's. Would it be "in bad taste" to run in any of the practices? (as the 8 o'clock practice schedule is sometimes do-able) I'd like to try learning the F1's and thought Turtle Town might be the place, but I don't want to interfere in "official league business" if you know what I'm saying.

You are welcome at all practice sessions, and that goes for everyone else as well. 👍

Same for me as scarecrow most nights on Wednesday I will be at church and when I get home there will be 15 minutes of practice left, now with nurb. Practice its going to be hard so I'm wondering if its alright if I just go in another lounge while the nurb practices ill join them after about 30-45 minutes of practicing.

No, Division A will race with Division 3 in the TURTLE_Division3 lounge at 10pm Eastern.

There is a small winter storm coming through central Virginia today. I may end up missing practice as I need to de-ice the driveway for my wife to drive into work tomorrow. See you guys on Saturday and thanks for letting me run the formula 1 and flex Series practice last night!!

Race Recap

Division 1: Those little cars were fun and the racing was fantastic! martin_ky won both races by a combined .421 for the overall win. We also had a tie for 2nd Place at 81 Points between micantony and Garage-father. micantony won the "Tie Breaker" and got 2nd Place overall with Garage-father taking 3rd Place overall. In Race 1 TX_Executioner edged out Psycho-Tuber by .289 in another fantastic finish. Psycho-Tuber went on to take 4th Place overall. The best finish of the night was in Race 2 though. Garage-father, micantony, and DREX81 finish with .143 between them, taking 4th, 5th, and 6th Place respectively in the race. Also in Race 2 RacingOtaku86 and martin_ky drag raced to the finish line with RacingOtaku86 just getting edged out by .088. RacingOtaku86 finished in 7th Place in Race 1 but after his half time adjustment (listened to short shifting advice) he made a great come back and went on to get 5th Place overall. TX_Executioner had a solid 4th Place finish in Race 1 but parked it in Race 2 finishing in 6th Place overall. DREX81 was consistent with two 6th Place finishes, but uncharacteristically finished in 7th Place overall.

Division 2: Congratulations to ThethirdRoy! ThethirdRoy dominated Division 2 like he did Division 3 last week with two 1st Place finishes, only this time he didn't get the Pole. That went to Scarecrow937 who had two 3rd Place finishes for 2nd Place overall. mbobb1969 came within .480 of ThethirdRoy in Race 2. His 5th Place finish in Race 1 gave him 81 Points and a tie with GTP_tzracer who also had 2nd and 5th Place finishes. mbobb1969 won the "Tie Breaker" and 3rd Place sending GTP_tzracer to 4th Place overall. FFK13 and shred-tec swapped 4th and 6th Place positions which lead to a tie at 72 Points. FFK13 won the "Tie Breaker" and 5th Place leaving shred-tec to finish things up in 6th Place.

Division 3: Congratulations to ph1sher and his two 1st Place finishes and overall win! flesxruorxllik gave him all he could handle in Race 2 though, finishing only .486 behind ph1sher. flesxruorxllik also finished in 2nd Place in Race 1 giving him 2nd Place overall. dawsonn57s 3rd Place finish in Race 1 and 4th Place finish in Race 2 was good enough for 3rd Place overall. For ScorpionPHVH57 two 5th Places finishes earned him 4th Place overall. johnsom was not able to finish Race 1 but his solid 3rd Place finish in Race 2 got him 5th Place overall. Although redsox111820 finished in 4th Place in Race 1 he was not not able to finish Race 2 and rounded out the field in 6th Place.

I was really looking forward to practicing last night, I feel that I had a couple seconds to find on track, but my internet decided to let me down 1/3 of the way through lap one.
