Notice of Account Ban measures

So...who's been banned so far?

I've checked my hybrid account and it hasn't been banned. I've never actually entered any hybrids in an online race. However, I did open an online lobby for hybrid testing and labeled the room as such. I was trying to figure out what sort of controls could be used to keep hybrids from entering races. I was in the lobby by myself when some clown came in and said he just reported me.

Guys don't even bother with chrunch. He's just trying to get a reaction. Comparing a hacked car to the spawn of satan. Yep. Trolling.

So if you beat me in a race and I report you for hacking, you get banned?

No way dude, that would be chaos

Like I said its options doesnt mean they are good ideas.

Well if someone reports you for hacking, and you're not hacking, and they could likely determine the difference somehow... Then um, no that won't happen.
But if someone reports you for some other reason, but says they're reporting you for hacking, and you happen to be hacking... then maybe yeah, I could see that happening.
Happened all the time on another online video game I used to play. People complained all the time about someone getting mad at them for some minor reason, and then reporting them and they get caught with their bots & get an acct ban.
This is not unusual in online video games where they decide to police the server for hacks based on reporting.
If you have that vulnerability, there are people who will use it. And what defense do you have if you're doing something that is officially banned?

I have a couple of friends with hybrids, but they are playing GT5 right now online. They only use them amongst others with hybrids, in Hybrid only rooms, but far as I can tell No ones been banned from gt5 online participation. Assuming this isnt an empty threat, we probably have to wait a few days and see what happens. I would guess by monday we'll have better information on how legit this is. Just stay cautious GT5 brethren. :nervous:

The only question I have to ask is what are the X 2010 & the X 2011? These are cars made in a fictional world without rules. So indeed PD started the whole thing with these 2 cars. Hybriding has been around since GT2. No one was ever banned. I don't think it is right for people to use these cars in online racing unless the races are for hybrids only. The one hosting the lobby has the ability and the right to bump and ban players from their lobbies.

It has brought new life to a game that was getting very stale. I have been playing Gran Turismo since the beginning. I have never seen PD release a Gran Turismo game when it said it would be released. Even GT5 was not a finished game when released or we would not have had so many patches.

So let's let this thread fade into oblivion because someone will always continue to add to it. Hybrids are here. If you don't like them then don't use them but don't bash the ones who figured out how to do it because these were some very smart programmers. They may even figure out how to give us options like body kits, more wheel selections and more possibilities than PD has given us.

If GT6 is released for the PS3 on time and is a finished game we can only hope that PD has listed to the people who have been playing Gran Turismo since the beginning.

You guys know that GTP is only around 5-7% of the fan base right. It may be 40% of the active fan base but id guess that only 10-30% of the community even owns a hybrid and around 10% makes them!

When I first read it, I thought it said "church them all!"

Maybe Chrunch wrote the username wrong when he joined, and he's trying to disimulate

Back on topic, it's hard to believe that people actually entered a TT/DT with a hybrid, that is, with all respect these people deserve, stupid

They played with fire in a gas station

Jumped back online after being away for nearly a month. I only had a 7,500HP golden Daihatsu Midget, of which, where it sat in my garage has now vanished. Currently I can see an empty car spot, no thumbnail, blank details, can only be sold.

That being, I'm still capable of playing online in the lobbies and the seasonals, however my hybrid car was removed from my game save.

Edit:
Now that I'm diving into my garage, my Chromeline cars are now gone, along with all Stealth vehicles too. Is there something I missed?

Wait, why doesnt someone email pd, asking them to post more about the topic, to clairify to everyone? If nobody wants to, ill do it :sly:

I was online an hour or so ago and all my hybrids appeared to be in tact, because when I went to buy a car I got the usual popup that my garage had gotten full again. I would say that perhaps they're only going for obvious hybrids, but my 50,000 horsepower Audi R8 was still there in all its green glory when I went to sell it.

Just curious, where are you getting those figures from? Do you have any proof of these numbers (links, ect) or are you just guessing? I would like to see some proof of these numbers that you are calling fact.

GTPlanet Forums Statistics
Members: 238,439

GT5 sales figures:
9,190,000

238,439/9,190,000*100 = 2.59454%

However bear in mind the number of active members is going to be a lot less than that even. So he was actually quite a way out the other way.

What? All of these "50% of the GT5 online players will have used a hybrid" posts and different themes of that post are totally made up, they have no figures to back up anything.

I don't think you can report someone specifically for hacking. You can report other players, but you can't say why :P It's up to Sony to figure out why you would have wanted to report someone... (offensive language, hacking, other?)
For all I know, that report feature might not even work, just like the "vote to kick" feature, which says it's going to start a vote to kick, but all it does is that it takes your vote alone and then you have to ask everyone else in the lobby to do the same thing.

Wait, why doesnt someone email pd, asking them to post more about the topic, to clairify to everyone? If nobody wants to, ill do it :sly:

Good luck finding their e-mail address 👍
But you can try to contact Sony and ask.

If only getting PD to communicate directly with their playerbase was that easy.

There is no reason for communication on this part, using a hybrid online is a sin, they are not going to say, well this is ok but that isn't etc.

They are saying clearly, don't do it period. Even though they will let much of it go.

Their general stance is pretty clear with that message yes but as the three or four threads here prove it isn't exactly crystal clear about what they're doing and to who. Are they just going to ban the people with the cars? Are they going to actually do something about the action itself? Is it just people who go online?
